Danir |
Danir waits outside the inn, waiting to see if anyone follows the group outside, his crossbow loaded and ready.
Hearing the sounds of crunching bones and screams, he decides that he must get involved...
I wait another few seconds to make sure we don't get ambushed and then head down the street to the group to stop what sounds like a terrible act
Absylon |
Absylon decides to remind the boy of a most unfortunate reality...
My dear lad I believe you have failed to consider something of great import to your well being, I don't truly need you alive to get answers out of you... My friends in the cult of the Keeper can solve that for me, all I need to do is purchase an "Indulgence" from their bishop...
bluff1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Absylon |
If he refuses to speak I recommend execution, as for getting answers out of him I was only partially lying. I don't have contacts who can do what I suggest, I can however use a scroll to the same effect... It would have to be black market buying however.
Danir |
"Companions, this is not something I wish to be party to- torturing a child for information?" Danir remarks, as he strolls up to the group.
"Besides, if he truly does know something useful, we know someone that is probably much more likely to get the information from him than Othan."
Xov |
"Enough"
Xov uses his levitate ability to harmlessly lift the captive 20 feet into the air.
"Back away from the kid, stop indulging your sadism. We don't have time for this."
He then levitated Danir [if willing?] and himself in turn. Glaring at those still on the ground, he continued
"Go back and search for leads, leave us here."
Since 5 on 1 questioning is hopeless...
Absylon |
Can you check his magical Aura? I wonder if he has been enchanted somehow... If that is not the case I recommend execution and interrogation via magical means... If you lack the stomach for that then perform magical interrogation and administer mind altering drugs to wipe his memory clean...
Danir |
"Who is this Richard and where can we find him?" While asking this question, Danir begins weaving magical energy into his signet ring, weaving it into a healing spell which he then uses on the Changeling to heal its leg.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Since I needed to make DC 23 to store a 1st level spell, I made the roll and place Cure Light Wounds into Danir's ring
healing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

A break doesn't necessarily count as a light wound. It's more of a moderate or serious one, but yeah, it helps a little.
"Richard, you know, RICHARD! The Cyran fiend that likes to slaughter people!"
Xov |
Xov sighed as he renewed his messages.
Xov |
Great mistress of Galifer, will this group ever agree on anything?
Dismissing a single message, he turned to the shifter as he floated down to the ground.
Othan |
Othan walks over to the still floating man, claws slowly appearing out of his hands, his appearance becoming slightly more bestial. When he reaches the man, his right hand flashes out slicing through the arteries of his throat.
"If you want to question him further, drag the answers from his corpse. We have wasted to much time on this matter already."
Absylon |
Absylon facepalms as the shifter's claws slash the throat of the changeling...
My companions interrogation of the corpse will commence eventually, so long as the body is relatively intact we can perform the interrogation via magical means at any time... That leaves the question of where we are going to hide the body... Any ideas?
Danir |
"By Onatar's hammer, what have I gotten myself into..." Danir thought to himself as he watched his companions kill a man in cold blood and haggle about disposing of the body.
"Xov, what were your plans for searching out clues?" He asked the Drow Sorcerer.
Absylon |
One hundred gold upfront, I'll need to get it from my bank account in Sharn. If we encounter significant hazards, note that one drunken goblin or the like does not count I'll add fifty to it. This will take awhile so you will have to guard the body while I go get your payment and everything else needed to successfully abscond with the body...
Absylon |
If your not up for it then we need to dispose of the body the old fashioned way, chop it up throw the parts in a sack and find somewhere to burn them... Leave no evidence, no trace that we were here. I don't want enemies interrogating the corpse themselves and putting us all on the bad side of the authorities...
GM Elton |
That all seems like a good plan. But there's a commotion outside. It may or may not be related to you killing the changeling. But it's causing all sorts of trouble. It sounds like a raid by the City Watch!
You hear tables being overturned and jewels being thrown on the floor. Do you want to dispose of the body during a raid?
Absylon |
Maul the body beyond recognition then scatter and regroup somewhere else.
With that Absylon points at the body and in high hopes of mauling it beyond recognition (and the use of speak with the dead) unleashes a ray of purple light to target the head and mouth... As he does this he moves his body in such a way as to obscure any light coming from the alleyway towards the Inn itself...
After he has done this Abyslon will flee and try to be as stealthy as possible...
attack1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10, damage2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 5) + 5 = 11
stealth1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Ebran Asur |
Ebran flees with the others, prepared to loose a fog cloud spell if the guards get too close. Once they are out of the darkness he yanks his hand away from the others and scans the area for possible places to hide, or things he can use his trick shot ability to manipulate into dissuading pursuit.
GM Elton |
The city watch raided the casino under pretext. They were looking for a source of drugs, they say. They weren't interested in you, so you weren't followed. So far, so good. The towers definitely scrape the sky, and so far, you all find a place where you can plan your next move. Do you still go after the compass?
