"That would be helpful...unfortunately much of my magic is ineffective against the undead...actually, Essar might be our best weapon against undead, if we can aim him at the proper targets."
Xov has no qualms thinking of his comrade as but a tool. After all, he considers himself little more than a device to enhance his Queen's vision.

Human Marksman (Shroud/Sniper) 5

"Well, I play to swing by House Lyrandar, let them know I am alive, see if there is anything they need of me. Maybe I can hook us up with jobs, unless you are planning on staying in Sharn for a long time."

Fine he will live for now, though if he tries treating my like his hired help again all bets are off and may to gods have mercy on his deranged soul

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

others:
"That did seem odd to me...it almost seemed like he assumed you were partial to his ideas, at least more so than the rest of us. Do you have any idea what could have made him think that? "

male human lvl 2 (varient multi-class rogue)

others:
Perhaps that I did not immediately treat him as crazy, and he seems a bit out of touch with his personal power and station within his cult. He may also have thought being a shifter, would predispose me to be against the silver flame. Which would probably actually be a good guess. But as I said, if he treats me like the hired help again at a minimum I am knocking him out and dumping him in an unsavoury part of town.

Dragoneyes?

How long is the train ride to Sharn? And will we be role-playing some of the trip or just jumping forward to when we reach our destination?

Male Half-Elf Sorcerer 3/Cleric 2

Others:
"I have a cantrip that is particularly effective against the undead, if need be. I did not prepare it, because I did not expect to encounter them... But that has changed." Kyndril says quietly, leaning back in his seat.

a week.

You're crossing a thousand miles, at least a week. Maybe 2.

Male Half-Elf Sorcerer 3/Cleric 2

GM:
Kyndril will write a letter to his mother, telling her about his circumstances and suchlike. He'll keep most of the sensitive material quiet, only expressing his desire to see her again, and apologize for his lack of contact in the intervening years. He'll also ask her how she is, and how things are going in the Church. He's planning to use the Sivis to send it to Thrane from Sharn.

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

Ah, so Xov is going to get to communicate with Gwen before the end of the ride...mwhahahahahahahaha

hp 8,ac 13/10/13, fort 2+, reflex 0+, will+6, Initiative 2+, Perc 4+

muttering to himself, Essar considered the map and his "copatriots".

Infernal:
The treasure is great, but so is the danger. The shifter can be counted on to join simply for a share of the loot, the artificer might be enticed by the rare weapons and armor that could be found in such a hoard. The elf is a puzzle that requires a interogation of sorts...hmm perhaps some particularly potent wine might loosen his tongue. The Thranian however is the greatest threat out of them all, he either must be killed or must abandon all alligiance to Thrane and the Flame...a difficult proposition. Perhaps if the Flame in some form or fashion betrayed him it would cause him to abandon it's cause. And Ebran could likely be swayed in the same way Othan could.

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

On the train the next morning, Xov was speaking with Gwen, his supervisor, through a Message spell (cast through a scrying crystal ball)). As was his habit, he covered his mouth with his left hand while speaking, to prevent anyone from reading his lips. There was still something from the previous day about which he was unsure:

GM, maybe Kyndril:
"I have a question about the half-elf, Kyndril. Yesterday, he told me that there might be someone in Aundair watching him. He seemed to imply that he had a previous interaction with the Royal Eyes. What was his story? Is there any information on him which I might find useful?"

Male Half-Elf Sorcerer 3/Cleric 2

Assuming nothing untoward happens along the way, Kyndril will prepare acid splash, disrupt undead, and daze. For first levels, he'll prepare hydraulic push and shield. He'll also try to write reduce person and corrosive touch into his spellbook.

Spellcraft to understand the first spell: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Spellcraft to understand the second spell: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

That's a no on reduce person, but a yes on the corrosive touch. I assume it's okay to say he purchased the materials back in Crossroads?

Did you forget about Xov's question?

Xov:
"I have a question about the half-elf, Kyndril. Yesterday, he told me that there might be someone in Aundair watching him. He seemed to imply that he had a previous interaction with the Royal Eyes. What was his story? Is there any information on him which I might find useful?"

Gwen came back and said, "We don't have anything on him, he doesn't have a file. If anyone is watching him, it's not us."

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

Very curious. So, it appears there is something in Kyndril's past related to Aundair, but which the Eyes are unaware of...hmmm...I must figure this out myself. Well...
Xov began to formulate a plan:

Xov's plan:
Kyndril already suspects the Eyes to know stuff about him. So I could just talk to him, and hint that he should avoid lying about his past to me, and pretend I already know...okay, bluff time.

"Good morning Kyndril. Could I speak with you for a moment?"
Kyndril:
"Kynril, I...what was it you were saying yesterday? When you said that there might be someone in Aundair watching you?"
Xov made an understanding smile, trying to comfort his companion.

Male Half-Elf Sorcerer 3/Cleric 2

Xov:
Kyndril shrugs. "Well, I assume as much, yes. I mean, I am traveling with you, after all." He smiles a little, eyes glittering. "Well, and the fact that your lovely organization seems to keep following me wherever I go, I have no doubt that some of them look in on me from time to time. If I'm that important to them. I'm probably not."

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

Kyndril:
Xov looks a little surprised, thinking
Following him? Strange, as Lady Gwen indicated that she didn't even have a file on him. Is this a taunt? Is Kyndril lying? Has he managed to slip under my Queen's radar? But then, why would he be telling me? Unless...what was it that Lady Gwen said? Maybe someone else was watching him, and claiming to be from the Eyes, as a cover up! Well, I guess my plan will still work:
Cautiously, he opened his mouth,
"Hmmm...yes...you say you encountered the Royal Eyes during the War? I'm curious, how much did you find out?"
He paused,
"I'm sorry, that was a bit up-front of me..."

Don't count on help from Xov...he doesn't believe in "entertainment":P

Human Marksman (Shroud/Sniper) 5

i dont RP that stuff anyway, heh

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

Oh, I mean that Xov doesn't (usually) believe in any form of entertainment:) Not just the one you were thinking of...

Male Half-Elf Sorcerer 3/Cleric 2

Xov:
"Yes, I did." Kyndril arches a dark brow at the drow. Clearly, the Royal Eyes were less organized than he had thought... Or the drow wasn't very trusted. Or, he was fishing for more information. Flame help him, but Kyndril really wasn't cut out for this sort of thing... "Someone slipped a message to me." He smiles wryly. "I imagine it's because they were confused with my identity."

Kyndril probably isn't even more than peripherally aware of the attentions of the opposite gender, and would be quite confused if he were ever to fall prey to them. He'd be less confused if a man approached him, but equally wrong. "Oh, he is very friendly!" or such. xD

Human Marksman (Shroud/Sniper) 5

Ebran has had his share of tavern girls in port towns, but hey, he is kind of a pirate (but not the bad kind with the larceny and whatnot)

Human Artificer 4 HP:21/27 AC:17/16 f-f/11 tch

Other than any special situations that might come up, Danir spends his time checking and peforming any necessary repairs or maintenance on his gear to insure that it is all in as good a shape as can be.

Once his gear is done, he starts working on designs for future weapons, armor, and other items and just enjoying the scenery as the train makes its way to Sharn.

Oh, I think we won't be using that particular book in this rp, so consider this PG, leaning to R when it comes to monster fights.

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

Does anything happen on the rest of the train ride?

Kyndril:
Good, good, clearly the Thranian does not suspect much of me.
"Perhaps. Perhaps you were confused about their identity as well."
His eyes glittered with the blackness of Kyber.

random encounter = 1d20 ⇒ 14

Lights on the train flicker as something strange is going on in one of the cars. Wierd sounds is coming from one of the freight cars. Should you investigate?

Human Marksman (Shroud/Sniper) 5

Ebran would.

Othan bored almost to death with sitting on this train, hears strange noises and gets up to investigate as the lights begin to flicker. "Shall we investigate? It cannot be more boring than staying here.

Male Half-Elf Sorcerer 3/Cleric 2

Xov:
"Oh, no doubt I would have been, if I knew who they were." He was beginning to enjoy this, dammit. Kyndril sighs, Flame forgive him, but this was almost fun, poking at the drow to see what would happen. "In fact, I am sure I have no idea who gave it to me, or why. I am simply that clueless about all of this."

At the unusual noises, Kyndril stands, following Ebran as he investigates and as he tries to identify what might be causing those particular noises.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
If any of those work, of course.

Human Artificer 4 HP:21/27 AC:17/16 f-f/11 tch

Danir weaves a Shield of Faith infusion into his armor but waits to activate it until he gets to the disturbance and then heads after his fellow travellers.

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

Kyndril:
"You are very poor at lying, mage. This was a rather informative exercise. Nonetheless, I suggest you improve your bluffing techniques, in order that you might not give away your knowledge to someone who does not already know what you are trying to hide."
He paused, then continued:
"You didn't really believe that I would be entirely ignorant of your past, did you?"
It was an excellent test, the half-elf had confirmed his willingness to lie, even about information which he expects the recipient of the lie to know. He clearly could not be trusted, but he was indeed a terrible liar.

"Ah, perhaps we should investigate that noise"
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Xov:
Kyndril bursts out laughing. "Flame forgive me, but you really are clueless, aren't you? I did get a note, I don't know who sent it." He rolls his eyes. "But I may have been the slightest bit sarcastic in my response, I admit, so I suppose you could call that a lie." He shrugs. "It's your choice, of course, whether to believe me or not. I cannot force you to change your mind."
Annd Kyndril's bluntness comes to the fore. Charisma 9, FTW!

Male Drow Sorcerer 5

Kyndril:
Xov smiled. So what we learned today is that the half elf is more than willing to share his secrets with me, as long as he believes me to be clueless. Well then, I suppose I will just have to act clueless whenever I need information from him. It seems we may just get along after all, hehehe.
Xov nodded. He said nothing, but continued to watch for whatever was causing the noise. He felt a bit of comfort for the first time with this knew group: he had found the magus' psychological weak-point.
And Xov's bluntness does NOT come to the fore. Bluff bonus of +10 FTW!

hp 8,ac 13/10/13, fort 2+, reflex 0+, will+6, Initiative 2+, Perc 4+

Essar was jarred awake by the "noise" whatever it was, it did not come from the mouth of a human. Essar quickly stepped out of his closet and studied the surrounding area with the keen eye of a experienced soldier.

Yes, Knowledge Arcana works and so does spellcraft. You definitely recognize the sounds of summoning. But it will take a good knowledge check to findout from which plane.

Essar, you see red lights coming from the car. Some of the red shrouds orange and Yellow, more yellow than anything. Can the summoner be summoning something from Kythri?

Male Drow Sorcerer 5
