What he means is, they want to see how well you perform. Since you went off into battle, they want to see how much you've learned in the process and if you can solve problems. They figure that finding a way to the dungeon is part of this test. No handholding from the house. They want to see if you deem yourself worthy to be a Scion again.

Know (Arcana) check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Also, since it is commonly known that Sharn was built over a couple layers of other settlements over the centuries, Danir will work with the assumption at this point that it is probably an old dungeon from one of these previous settlements below Sharn. He will need to make a trip to Morgrave University for more info, I think

Success for a result of 10:
Schema are used by House Cannith to improve certain constructions. They work like Mad Scientist blueprints in Deadlands, only for fantasy. You don't know if this specific schema is designed to improve Warforged or some other Cannith project.

"Well Othan, it seems our benefactor overplayed my re-instatement into the house- as of now, I am considered a hireling and need to prove myself to get back in, it seems. On that note, I have a possible adventure for us, but it is marginally time-sensitive, we need to be back within a month with the objective in hand. How did you all fare?"
PS: Calling Essar a snake is an insult to Xov's little friend :)

And Xov, I am sorry if I implied that your familiar was in any way related or considered similar to Essar, such comparisons would be an insult to your familiar. Perhaps weed would have been a better choice of words

Concerning our cleric (who is not at all like a snake, for a snake can be subtle, has discretion, and is skilled with deception, while Essar is blunt and loud), the good news is that within two days, The Royal Eyes will be able to Watch him, always. Unfortunately, anything he does until then is completely unchecked, unless one of us is nearby...
Also, if Ebran gets a potential adventure from his House, I suggest we attempt it as well, for we should benefit from having allies in both House Lyrander and Cannith."

While he awaits the arrival of the half-elf, Danir weaves a simple magical pattern into his Signet ring, just to be on the safe side.
Spell Storing Item infusion- places Featherfall into his ring, one-shot, lasts 1 hour if not activated beforehand, spell lasts 1 round or until he reaches ground. DC 23 Use Magic Device check to emulate spell and costs 10 GP, which he will take from Caft Reserve.
Use Magic Device check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

The Abbot was firm on this one. Essar was easy to read, that was for certain. The Blood of Vol had placed importance on sensing motives. The Abbot was an expert in this matter. "Essar, you are one dimensional in your thinking. If you are going to go far in this Church, you must be able to think outside that box you put yourself into. Now go."

"I need to research possible locations for a lost dungeon that holds an item that House Cannith has tasked me with returning to them. I have a hunch that it may be connected to one of the many settlements that dot the underworld beneath Sharn."

Ebran Asur |

"Ah yes, it was alright. They weren't as excited as I had hoped at the sight of my return, but I got some work... Ebran says, looking around furtively, "Someone's stolen an heirloom from the house, and they want it back. Their last lead was in the direction of under-Sharn."

Danir |

"House Cannith has not yet welcomed me back with open arms either- I was given a mission to find and retrieve an item for them from a lost dungeon, but no information as to where the dungeon is- I suspect it is also in under-Sharn but I was hoping to do some research to get something more solid than a hunch to go on."

Xov |

"Hmm...I believe it would behoove us for both Danir and Ebran to advance within their respective houses, so I suggest we attempt to complete both of these tasks if possible."
"Ebran, do you know how time-sensitive your quest is?"
GM:Looking back at Xov's back-story, it would make sense for him to have the "elemental resistance" alternate racial trait (intended for elves, gives resist 5 to one energy type, replaces immunity to sleep) to resist cold, since he was born in a Risia manifest zone. Neither cold damage nor sleep effects have come up in play yet, so would it be okay to ret-con that Xov has cold resistance instead of sleep immunity?

Kyndril looks to his companions, wondering what exactly the Dragonmarked Houses wanted from each. "Ebran, I would have thought the Lyrandar would have embraced you with open arms, if only to study you further... Though it is true, they are primarily focused on Khorvar, so they might not take kindly to the Mark showing up on a human. No offense, Ebran, Danir." He pauses, considering. "Well, it seems we are to delve beneath Sharn, then... I don't suppose we should hire a native guide?" He considers. "Well, first I'd like to visit the Messenger's Guild, then maybe purchase a few scrolls or wands to round out my repertoire. Also, this leather armor simply isn't... working. Perhaps I should buy some studded leather..."

Ebran Asur |

"It's held by a halfling supposedly going by the name Robin Nimblefingers. He's also protected by the Emerald Claw, possibly. That might make things weird with Essar. I suggest not revealing that to him."

Danir |

"I'm more than ok with keeping information from him, for now at least- it will be interesting to see where his loyalty really lies- with the nation of Karrnath or with the Emerald Claw, as terrorist groups seem to attract fanatics. So then, what shall we do next now that we are all here?"

Making sure this isn't lost:

EDIT: This is prior to Essar's arrival.

Xov |

"Oh, hello, Essar. I trust you had a productive day? Anyways, we now have two quests, one from House Lyrander and one from House Cannith. We were just about to go research more information about our intended targets...
So...I suggest that those of us skilled in spell research, that's Kyndril, Danir, and Essar, go look for information on Danir's mission, while the rest of us look around to see if anyone knows anything about the guy Ebran has to find. Does that sound like a good plan?"

Actully I have a job for you it involves nothing more then taking out a gang that has been troubling the Blood temple of late. It's twenty gold for each gang insignia, you only need to divide that amount between the five of you. As I am doing this strictly pro bono. The leader of the gang must be captured alive, up to it? Or should I go get some fellow Karns to help me, after all they could use the gold far more then you could.
