Essar, the summoning is actually from Fernia. Entering the cargo car, the summoner brought three imps into the world.

And so the law of Averages has struck and Xov is out on his luck. The natural 1 means you are too slow this round.

Danir -- Knowledge check of 16: They can be banished back to Fernia with the use of a Banish spell or a item crafted with Banishment. Secondly, you can distract them with a good Bluff check (their wisdom is a little high), thirdly -- nothing comes to mind about a third option.

Kyndril chants an arcane phrase, shaping his magic with his off-hand, warding away the imp's claws and tail with the scimitar. He completes the spell, launching a blast of water at the imp before him, whereupon he slashes at it while it is hopefully on the ground.
Casting hydraulic push defensively at the imp, using spell combat to attack it whilst it's down. If need be, he'll take a 5-foot step forwards.

The bull rush attempt does hit, by the way, by 3. You push the imp back 5 feet. Essar's targeted imp flies into a wall. your imp loses initiative and will act after Xov. Also, your hydraulic push was effective, and that why he loses initiative.
