What I was thinking was that a few years ago, Myron needed to blow up a particularly tricky target; in preparation, he sent letters to a number of scholars back in Ustalav and asked about particulars of chemistry and that sorta thing. Our professor was the only guy who bothered to write back; once the job was successfully completed, I offered to send him some money to compensate him, but he declined that in favour of an unspecified future service.
That'll work I reckon.

I've read enough to get my brain cranking some, not the whole mod though; I'm on call this weekend, but it shouldn't be too too busy.....I think I'll try to shoot something up by Sunday night; though if people need more time, I'm cool with that too. I can always read the whole module...

I REEELY need to find a PFRPG character maker! Doesn't one of the threads have a decent version on it?
Question, IIRC, as long as you have the correct feat (for example, Scribe scroll) if you make the DC on the UMD roll, (or was it Spellcraft?) you can create the item, even if the bard doesn't know the spell in question, correct? (You use the roll to replace the actual spell needed?)

The DC to create the item increases by +5 for every other prerequisite (such as being able to cast the correct spells) that you do not meet (though you can get someone else to cast the spells for you, or cast them from an item). Generally speaking it is a Spellcraft check that is required, though for some items you can substitute some other skill check.

My good sir, I only summon manifestations of otherworldly elemental might, quite unencumbered by such epithets as 'good' or 'evil'! Why I belong to The Order of The Pentad, which fights the evil menaces from beyond the grave!

I’m excited about this game and eager to start, but we haven’t seen characters from half the group as yet. Might be worth giving Pat, Kruely and Aubs a bit more time. Maybe they’ll have some time over the weekend.

I am quite sure that no friend of the Professor would disturb the gentle repose of those beyond the veil. That is quite the collection Castiel - have you had much occasion to need such things recently? What have you found most effective?

We discovered a common scientific interest and maintained a professional relationship, sharing information. I was able to help him clear up a couple of minor mysteries during our friendship. Simple really, hardly worth the trip out here, I should have been able to solve them from home. But they disturbed the good professor so much at the time that I felt compelled to assist him. I refused to accept payment for my services of course, waiving my usual fee in the name of our friendship and another opportunity to learn from him. Apparently, he felt that somehow placed him in my debt." The thin man shrugs.

Mm didn't think of that. Alinya's LN but will tend towards good if there's enough peer pressure. Stickler for rules though, and expects the authorities to always be on her side.

Castiel’s not a paladin (but at LG and as a cleric of Iomedae he’s almost as bad). I can’t imagine hanging out with some LN and CG types is going to test the friendship too much … I also don’t think having a paladin (or any other standard class or race) in the group should dictate what the rest of the group must or must not do with their characters. I suppose the exception is evil alignment for characters, but my personal opinion is that evil characters should not be allowed without the consent of every member of the group - the standard assumption is that the PCs are the heroes, and if that's not going to be the case everyone should be aware of what sort of game its going to be (not necessarily a bad one, just diffferent).
Havign said that, I do run a paladin in a group that has at different times had two different lawful evil characters, and that sort of worked ...
