Slypher Xen |
Slypher continues his impressive martial display with his enhanced staff.
Staff 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15, Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Staff 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22, Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20, Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Like a boss.
PS - if the first hit kills the goblin, I guess instead of the 2nd I'd like to use a move to advance to the next goblin up.
Aasif |
Aasif drops his shortbow and moves to Pai Song and the goblin threatening her. "Away, foul ruiner of profit!" he shouts. As he arrives Aasif tries to kick up enough dust to get the goblin's attention and provoke an opening for Pai.
Aid Another: 1d20 ⇒ 9
DrGabe |
Slypher's first swing missed as the goblin ducked at the last possible second. But it set up a particularly brutal second attack that decapitates the goblin.
Initiative Order: Pai, Aasif, Jostrum, Sorin, Goblins, Slypher, Osric
Pai, please explain your move in more detail to me. Is roll marked "CHA" supposed to be an attack? What about the next two rolls?
Osric, no you went in turn. Its all good.
Jostrum Finderwell |
Jostrum draws back and looses another arrow, aiming for the goblin to the right up in the balcony.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Wow, two crit threats in a row
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Crit Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Crit Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Pai Song |
The roll marked CHA was a CHA check to get the charmed goblin to do something, possibily against his former companions. Then followed a byte attack against the goblin next to me, the ooc text was the description of the snake poison my byte transfers on a hit, if it would have hit and at the end my temporary status, AC with mage armor and my HP. Will mark it more clearly next time.
Pai Song takes another byte at the goblin, then moves back behind Aasif.
Byte Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 15
DrGabe |
Pai- I understand now, thanks.
Jostrum's arrow pierces the Charmed goblin in the eye ending whatever friendship it had with Pai.
Pai's fanged attack actually hits, thanks to the bonus from Aasif. Go ahead and roll damage

Sorin vos Naran |
A bit sick yesterday. Need to take it out on goblin skulls.
Map isn't loading at work. Sorin will just move to whatever goblin remains on the ground and attack.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6) + 4 = 14
That is more like it!
If there are no valid targets, he will use a shortbow, which is only +3 (hit AC 19) and 1d6 ⇒ 6 damage.
DrGabe |
Con Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Pai, do you really want to move? It will provoke an AoO. For now, I'll assume that you will just step 5 feet.
Pai's poisonous fangs dig deep into the goblins arm, the skin starting to necrose instantly.
In return, the goblin strikes at her.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4, but the attack misses by a mile.
Sorin ended the life of one of the goblins, but the other is still there and fighting.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10, but is too distraught about its short lifespan to hit.
Poison Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22, the poison starts to fade.

Jostrum Finderwell |
Jostrum fits another arrow, draws back the bowstring, and takes aim at the goblin directly in front of him. He draws in a breath, and lets it out slowly, Seemed to work before and let's the arrow fly.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Edit: ninja'd by Pai.
Pai Song |
Daze is a cantrip i can do without end, so no problem. It´s nice on low levels because it´s only going to affect creatures with 4HD, but i could do it every round.
Slypher Xen |
Slypher smiles at his handywork, but then scowls as he sees Sorin has done something very comparable.
"Everyone alive? Osric? Pai? ...new guy?"
Aasif |
"I am most unhurt, Master Xen." Aasif walks over to Slypher, bows with a flourish and tries to grab his hand to shake it. "I am known to be the most humble merchant Aasif Spicetongue! Truthful adventurer of great renown and ability. At your service, Master Xen." Then he strides off to collect his shortbow.
Pai Song |
Most important, i´m unharmed. Thanks for your kind care Slypher. I´m impressed by both your and Sorins martial power. This would could have ended bad without you two. Let´s check if that goblins carry so much alchemists fire like the last we encountered.
DrGabe |
Looking around the explorers find that the the statues along with their scaffolding would make a relatively easy climb to the balcony. You can see that the goblins kept ropes tied to the rail to make life easier, but they are coiled up.
In the southeast corner of the room is an exit. The door is a simple stone door, just like the one that lead into this room.
But that all pales to the large door that leads to the south. It imminates strong magic. There are seven thumb-sized sockets embedded in the door, arranged in a ring around a starburst design.
Pai Song |
This door is so magical, i don´t even know how to describe it. Those sockets, it looks like something needs to be fit in there to open the door. Well since we don´t have it, we won´t go through there any time soon. Someone wants to climb up there and check the balcony? Else i suggest we take that way back over there.
Osric Sarus |
Osric will study the pattern at the magical door, and even sketch it with rough dimensions. He hopes to be able to remember what it looks like later when he sees the key. Is it possible it is one "key" will fit the pattern?
I agree with Pai on the direction. Hopefully Aasif or Sorin can climb up and check out the balcony.
DrGabe |
Aasif is easily able to climb up to the balcony. Other than the dead goblins on the floor, you find anything of interest here. There are three exits though- Northwest, Southwest, and Northeast.
Pai and Osric are able to study the door and make a copy of it for later. However, its secrets still elude them.
Pai Song |
As long as you stay between me and whatever we might else encounter in this place, go ahead, serve yourself Pai Song says with a smile.
Slypher Xen |
"I think I'll take one of those as well." Slypher then looks around and considers which path they should take next. "Anyone have a preference of which way first?"
Pai Song |
I´m afraid there is only one potion. You could undress, rub yourselves with this oil and wrestle for it. It might be enjoyable to watch.
Pai Song |
I think we should take the door back there. That´s where the goblins probably came from and exploration should be done logically, so let´s go there.
Pai Song |
I meant that open door on the ground floor in the southeast corner that was mentioned bfore th big door with the sockets. Guess first is always the most obvious.
DrGabe |
I keep hearing the SE door, that is the way we can go.
The explorers leave the statue room and head into a winding hallway. The narrow passage widens out into a room here before continuing. Piles of sand and rubble fill the corners of the room, and the sound of splashing water can be heard from the east (away from you).
Perception Checks
DrGabe |
Wait! Don't move! Jostrum shouts suddenly. He sees that two of the flagstones in the center of the floor are somewhat depressed. Its possible they are trapped. Usually, stepping on one of the tiles will trigger the trap.
Disable Device if you like. The safer, but more boring approach would be to walk around these floor tiles.
Jostrum Finderwell |
Jostrum takes a piece of chalk and traces the outline or the tiles that appear to be trapped. Here he says, pointing to one side of the chalk line, it is safe to walk. The other side...not so much. Now let's see about disabling this thing. He reaches in his pack and removes a sets a tools, then gets down on his belly and begins manipulating the tiles.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
