The roll marked CHA was a CHA check to get the charmed goblin to do something, possibily against his former companions. Looking around the explorers find that the the statues along with their scaffolding would make a relatively easy climb to the balcony. You can see that the goblins kept ropes tied to the rail to make life easier, but they are coiled up.
In the southeast corner of the room is an exit. The door is a simple stone door, just like the one that lead into this room.
But that all pales to the large door that leads to the south. It imminates strong magic. There are seven thumb-sized sockets embedded in the door, arranged in a ring around a starburst design.

Welcome to the Frostfur Captives PFS play-by-post game. I follow the PFS rules to best of my ability, however since we are playing in a PbP environment there are a few extra things to be aware of.
Please make note of the brackets for formatting your post. See the "How to Format Your Text" button below. If posting in game thoughts, etc just use plain type. Out of Character (ooc) text needs the brackets-ooc-closedbrackets. Use the Dice brackets for posting your rolls. If you need/want to post something that isn't really OOC, then you can post it here in the Discussion thread.

Remember, Paizo's number one rule is Play! My number one rule is HAVE FUN!
So lets do that!

Is this thread for group A or B or is this ooc a combo thread for both groups?

The Exchange

This should be the discussion thread for Group A only, I would think.

Would group A care to weigh in on my character choice? It's basically:
1) Tanky barb with good HP named Brik
2) Sorcerer that's not useless in close combat named Tortella
3) Staff magus that hits people with a stick, twice, named Slypher.

Dr. Gabe, i would like to make a minor change to Pai Song, i forgot about this at creation.

    1. Add the "Gift of tongues" racial trait replacing "defensive training" and "hatred"
    2. Replace the trait "Theoratical Magician" with "Etymologist".
    3. Take the favored class bonus as a skill point.

This would give me -2 on spellcrafting and -1 hit points, but add 3 languages and make linguistics a class skill. I think it´s actually important someone loving to use diplomacy and casting charm a lot can speak a lot of languages.

Please let me know if that is ok.

Also i would like to know in which region this starts, so i can take the language there maybe?

    The Exchange

I already chose the spells that Slypher knows, and they aren't really buff/debuffs. I think I'll actually go with Brik, since nobody else in the party has good AC/HP.

EDIT: Although Slypher does have the knowledge skills. Those might come in handy. And grease always comes in handy.

Pai, typically I like to post 1-2 times per day. The pace is much slower than a typical face to face game. But I have found these sorts of games (PFS scenarios) to advance quicker than say a homebrew or even an Adventure Path.
As far as your character goes, I don't mind any changes, but once we get started for real here in a day or so, you need to stick to your guns. The scenarios change drastically from one to another. That being said, its hard to give advice on builds. Play what is fun to you is usually the best advice.

I've noticed some of you have been posting die rolls that are unlabeled. Something you might consider is incorporating the label into your roll. For instance, instead of saying:
    "Slypher swings at the goblin" 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
    You might say:
    "Slypher swings at the goblin" Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
You can do that by adding "=label" after "dice" in the first set of brackets. For instance {dice=Quarterstaff}.
It's also good to add an {ooc} after your dice if you want to explain your modifiers (like if you're striking for 1d6+20, that's good to explain). For instance,
    Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Atk -2 for TWF Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 +STR main hand
    Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 2 = 5 TWF penalty Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 +1/2 STR off-hand

Just some friendly tips to help you make your rolls more informative.

Our non-American friends may see a slight slow down in posting the next several days. Enjoy the time with your family and try to not to eat too much!

I'll still be posting, perhaps a bit slower, perhaps not.

Guys it´s very easy when we help each other to accomplish faction missions. I have by far the best Diplomacy i guess and probably most CHA skills here. You just need to ask and tell me what to do and i help you. But please help too with aid another.

    The Exchange

    Half-Goblin

This is Scenario has a few faction missions which at this point are going to near impossible to complete (you'll need very high rolls and then with some luck with modifiers). This is one of my complaints about many of the missions where it comes down to a dice roll or perhaps a dice roll of a fellow player.

What irritates me is the the DC is set across all levels of play, 1-5 which makes a huge difference in your chances for success.

Anyway, I've been affected by these rules as a player and a GM, so I know it sucks pretty hard.

But... for the sake of time, I am going to ask to move on. As Andoran has made three attempts at their mission and failed each time, I don't think that you will be able to complete the mission. There is an additional penalty because of the signal fire being lit. It makes completing missions very hard here in the village.

Inflict Serious? We're fighting a 5th-level witch? As first level PCs? Really?

    The Exchange

Yup... I'll explain once the fight is over. It still doesn't make much sense, but I'll explain.

Alright gang, we are nearly at the end of this scenario. Thanks, I had a blast running the game and I hope you also had fun playing.
If you are interested, I will be running another game that will start at the conclusion of this one. If there are any scenarios that you are interested in playing (or ones you don't want to play), please let me know.

I'm definitely interested. Anything, but Dalsine Affair, Severing Ties, Fallen Fortress, Decline of Glory, or Gods Market.

I'm thinking about starting the low level Season 4 scenarios. That sound good?

    Playing that now actually.

    The Exchange

Good to know, I was thinking of that one actually. I'll actually start looking at scenarios tonight and post some suggestions later.

Slypher- is your current character playing Rise of the Goblin Guild? Or do you have an alt to run through it? It looks like that is what everyone (all three groups actually) is wanting to do.

I'm in it with Beckett as Leonel Goldscale, my barbarian. If that's what everyone else wants to do, that's fine. I'm working on picking up more shadowrun anyway.

Well done all, we are essentially done. If your PC has some business to take care of or want to add some RP elements, or ask further story questions feel free to post in the Game Play section.

This scenario is over and I'll be working on Chronicle Sheets this weekend. I'll need you to PM me your email address and I'll get them to you soon.
If you are making a day job roll please post that here.

For those interested, you get 502 gp and may purchase a Potion of Bull's Strength for 300gp.

The next Scenario will be 4-01 The Rise of the Goblin Guild and I hope to start in the next few days. Since Alonzo hasn't posted in over a month, I am going to open recruitment to fill his place.
Slypher, please let me know if you want to play with an alt or skip out on the next scenario. If you decide to skip out, I'll make sure that we get you in for the next scenario!

Any questions, feel free to ask!

    The Exchange

Totally carried you guys that scenario.

jk. I figured high-INT, low-CHA = arrogant jerk with a stick. I like how Slypher is taking form.

Since I'll have credit for Goblin Guild pretty soon, I'd be playing it just for kicks. I'd be 100% fine with that, but I figure you'll have players scrambling for credit. If not, I'll certainly throw someone in with this lot.

Oh, and if you don't like asking for email addresses, you can share via box.com, for instance. You can PM players the link with no personal contact information exchanged! Y'know, if you wanna.

    The Exchange

    Half-Goblin

Chronicle Sheets have been sent out!
Except for Slypher, Sorin, and Alonzo because I don't have your PFS character numbers.

Slypher, I don't know about box.com (though I do use Drop Box all the time). Let me know what is easiest for you to get... you know once you give me your PFS number! :)

When do we address purchases? Here or the next game thread? As far as equipment, can you assume that you leave unneeded equip. at the Lodge, such as furs and snowshoes ect... or do you have to sell or carry?

Can we perhaps just go on in this thread? It´s already linked and so on :)
Or will you open up a new one Dr. Gabe?

Selling stuff is at 50% right?

    The Exchange

    Half-Goblin

We will keep using this thread. I really confused the other groups by renaming them from the scenario name to Group B and Group C. :)
Sell is 50% of purchase price. Assume that you will be able to do so before we start the next scenario.
Good question on where you keep things... for now I guess assume that you have a locker at the Lodge.

    The Exchange

Going through the threads I found one about excess gear here. The way I read it, the consensus is at the very least you have some sort of locker in the Lodge to stow extra gear.

    The Exchange

    Half-Goblin

Cool find. I'd be very inclined to agree with you. its one of those weird things that is concerning at low levels, and at higher levels you could really care less about!
But for our concerns, yes, you have a locker at the Lodge!

Hi Dorgin. Welcome to the game. Just so you know, Slypher is a jerk. That's just how I play him. Don't take personal offense. He's useful enough to compensate for being annoying.

Gabe, I've switched out my feats to make him legal now. Toughness in, weapon focus out. All is well (afaik).
