Jostrum finishes his climb to the top of the stairs but his sword isn't fast enough to find a skeleton. Slypher continues his assault, but still misses wildly.
Aasif can't make the climb up the stairs, but he picks up a small rock and throws it at the skeleton, hoping for the best.
Meanwhile, Pai and Osric work on healing the sorceress.

Sorin's smah sends a skeleton scattereing into a million shards of bone. Two skeletons remain and they press their attack.

Winded and bruised from where the scimitar caught him across the ribs, Sorin staggers back, keeping the skeleton from pressing its advantage, but not connecting again with his blade.

After a few moments under Pai's care, Sorin's wounds stop dripping blood and he catches his breath.
"Thank you Pai. I needed that. You too Osric, you healed me right at the right time. I was blacking out the same moment that you healed me."
"So I assume these bones were guarding something?" he asks, then nudges a bone flinder off the parapet and down to the pool below, where it makes a soft plop!

Pai doesn't find anything magical, other than the head of the fountain. Its magic is very old and much more powerful than she has ever come across.
The door leading out of this room is not trapped.

Sorin plops down were he is among the flinders of skeleton bones. While the others are wandering around the pool, Sorin chucks bone chunks into the water, enjoying the bloop noise of the bone hitting the water.

After about ten minutes of exploring and pillaging the crystals, you are able to gather 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 blue ceramic shards. Careful examination of the shards do not reveal any magical properties. They do appear to have some value to a gem merchant.

"Money!" Slypher says as he waves a handful of shards at Osric.
"Ah, you wouldn't understand." Slypher tries to shake some water out of his clothes as he approaches the door at the stairs.

WIth your pockets filled with trinkets, you move on to the next room. The stone door at the top of the steps opens easily. The next room is a 40' cross-shaped chamber made with ancient stone.
A terrible stone idol stands on a small dais in the center of this cross- shaped chamber. The idol depicts a demonic being with a birdlike head and writhing serpents for legs; the eyes are fiery orange gems. Ornamental pillars surround the chamber, and open archways lead from this chamber to the south (where you came from) and the west. An eerie soundlessness enwraps the entire chamber.

Oscric spends a few moments peering at the statue. It glows with very strong illusion magic. When he turns to speak with his fellow explorers, his lips move but no sound comes out.
