About Sorin vos Naran

Background:

Sorin vos Naran was one of the lucky ones. The second son of a prominent House Naran banker he had everything he needed to rise to great heights. He had money, aptitude, the name, and was even a personable enough fellow. It was only a matter of time and experience before he would inevitably be accepted as one of Andoran's famous Eagle Knights.

Unfortunately fate interviened.

While serving his volunteer time with the army his small patrol encountered a large goblin warband heading directly for a new, and defenseless, lumber settlement. The patrol leader, realizing the seriousness of the situation called for the charge into the hopeless odds. That is the last thing that Sorin remembers of that day.

It is said that the patrol fought like lions, valiant and fierce, in the proudest Andoran traditions. The whispers said that while Sorin single-handedly killed the majority of the goblins, he also had cut down one of the members of the patrol who had strayed into his path.

While lauded in private, Sorin quickly found out that House Naran had used considerable influence and financial pressure to make any mention of the incident vanish. Sorin's presence in Andoran would serve as a constant reminder to those involved, and therefore he needed to be removed.

Sorin was asked to take a message to the Naran factor in Riddleport, upon delivering the message, Sorin was told in no uncertain terms that he was a liability to the family, and to not return to Andoran for a very very long time, to give memories and wounds time to heal. Sorin, needing more meaning to his life than that of an itinerant mercenary, found himself at the Pathfinder Lodge, looking for a cause.
