Pai Song |
Halflings bring luck and that one is from Quadira too. I´ll just follow this one. Seems a bit weak, but cute and agile enough. Hopefully he leads me to profit.
Pai Song steps in behind Aasif, careful where she puts her feet.
DrGabe |
Jostrum toys with the broken tiles for a few minutes but he can't seem to get to the mechanism underneath it. Apparently it has been damaged in the many centuries since its creation. He comes to the conclusion that it can be done, but it would require more skill than he currently has.
The rest of the part is able to move around the traps to the far side of the room without setting off any further traps. As the explorers make their way further east through the room, the sound of splashing water increases.
Pai Song |
I don´t think i would drink from a centuries old waterfall of ale in this place. It might open some oportunities for trade though. In that case i claim it!
Pai Song |
You used to be Quadiran yes. Thought you changed it on purpose.
Oh we can have a cooperation. Surely the Trade Prince will welcome that. And since i´m the one much more suited to lead negotiations jobs are clearly distributed don´t you think? So you could go ahead and make sure there are no monsters polluting this source, i will be right behind you.
Sorin vos Naran |
"First time we find a fountain of ale or a pool of ale, I have to go swimming in it." Sorin says, smiling. "I would be able to tell the story for the rest of my life...not that anyone would believe it...but it would be a great story!"
Pai Song |
Looking Sorin up and down, Pai Song says:
I may let you swim there naked, i might even enjoy that, but you won´t tell anyone. You would only spoil the sales honey.
Slypher Xen |
Slypher scrunches his nose in disgust. "You've just ruined the waterfall for me."
I actually did *not* change that manually. I better make sure my other PFS characters are in order.
Pai Song |
Think you can just change that now if you want, else you will get reported for Grand Lodge. Guess that could have been made by the website.
Jostrum Finderwell |
I swam in a lake of ale once. Back in my homeland of Nirmathas. It was at a rich landholder's estate. Jostrum states as he continues to walk the the hall, eyes taking in everything.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
DrGabe |
Leaving the trapped hall behind, the explorers move forward. The hall makes a turn to the north and opens into a large hall (about 80' wide and about 200' long). In the center of the room is a large pool of luminous blue water. The pool is fed by a spectacular fountain, a large winged beast set low on the northern wall.
Also to the north, two sets of switchback stairs climb to the top of the chamber. The stairs terminate at a closed door, between two columns.
The chamber appears to be empty of goblins or monsters.
Pai Song |
Really? I wonder what you can offer me for it? It now officialy belongs to the Trade Prince of Quadira anyway and i´m most sure he will reward me generously.
Now if you would mind tasting this liquid in the fountain?
DrGabe |
The explorers admire the room and the pool. Slypher and Pai wonder forward and see a magnificent fountain. Pai says arcane words and the fountain begins to glow in a magic hue. The type of magic is so old, she can't determine its type.
Immediately Jostrum notices something moving high atop the stairs, four skeletons have awoken and are now beginning to defend this room.
You all can take a standard turn before the skeletons go, you are all at least 170' from the stairs which go up about 20'. The skeletons are on the stairs and they are armed with short bows.
Sorin vos Naran |
"Of course." Sorin grumbles. "What is it about people and bows? I guess everyone doesn't enjoy the thrill of close combat like I do." Sorin says, unlimbering his blade as he sprints off towards the stairs.
Flat run. Move: 40' x4= 160' to the top of the stairs, then sneer menacingly at the undead.
DrGabe |
Running in that fashion will get you all about 10' from the base of the stairs. As you get close to the base of stairs you realize that the climb is almost straight up. It will be a difficult climb while trying to dodge arrows from the skeletons!
Any other actions or thoughts before combat starts?
Aasif |
Aasif runs with the others. Wringing his hands he speaks as to himself: "Skeletons! Of course! No plunder but old bones and rusted swords!"
Before they reach the end of their run Aasif draws his shortsword.

Climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
"Hup! Hup! Hup!" Sorin says as he bounds up the stairs towards the skeletons.
Looks like Sorin won't have the actions to do anything this round,
Pai Song |
Pai Song leaps into range and then casts a spell, aiming the nearest of the skeletons.
Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Disrupt Undead: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 211d6 ⇒ 4
DrGabe |
Sorin is able to climb quickly up the stairs to get into base with one of the skeletons. Moments later the skeleton next to him explodes as Pai sends a bolt energy into the bag of bones.
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Aasif tries to jinx one of the skeletons, but the undead creature is too dumb to even understand the putdown!
The three remaining goblins attack. Two fire bows at Pai, the other tries to attack Sorin.

Initiative Order: Pai, Sorin, Skeletons, Slypher, Jostrum, Osric Aasif,
Sorin and 3 Skeletons at top of stairs; Pai 10' up; Remainder at base of stairs (20' to the top)
DrGabe |
Slypher, it is a move action. You may move again if you like.
Jostrum- no map, besides the map would just show you all on top of each other climbing up steep stairs stairs. You need to make climb rolls (see a few post above).
Osric- whoops, skeletons! Running too many goblins at the moment.
Osric's bow hits, but the arrow does little damage the SKELETON.
Assuming Slypher and Jostrum continue up the steep stairs, Pai and Sorin please go.
1 Skele dead
2 Skele 3
3 Skele 4
4 Skele 4
Sorin vos Naran |
Already excited by the insane charge across the room and up the stairs, Sorin feels the familar rage washing over him like a tide of blood.
"RAAAA!" he screams conversationally to the skeleton, inquiring as to its creation and its feelings on its current metaphysical state.
Rage 1/6
RAAA!: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
RAAA!: 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 + 2 = 11
DrGabe |
As Pai takes cover, she tries to heal herself. Feel free to roll for the wounds you recover.. Sorin lets loose a vicscious barrage, a blow that would have destroyed the animated skeleton. But the bag of bones leans to side at the last second, the blow doing nothing but causing sparks to fly against the stone steps.
The two skeletons adjacent to Sorin attack him:
Scimitar: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Claw: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (10) - 3 = 7
Scimitar: 1d20 ⇒ 18 for Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Claw: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (9) - 3 = 6

Claw: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (8) - 3 = 5
Initiative Order: Pai, Sorin, Skeletons, Slypher, Jostrum, Osric Aasif,
