Ethyra quickly pulls out her own crossbow and takes aim at the leading mongrelman uttering a quick prayer to Desna to nudge luck in her favor. Deciding to heal the injured mongrelman after the raiders had been run off.

DM Corerue |

I Guess Cid and Kieran are MIA atm continuing on!
Round 1 wrap up.
The Mogrelmen's weapons came up short as they tried to attack the diplomatic Jen'Dalash. However the groups swift reply left one mongrelmen down and another wounded.
Ethyra's crossbow, despite the cover given by the barrier punched through the mongrelmens thick fur and left him slumping to the stone floor unconscious as Jaegers dagger caught another in the shoulder.
Round 2
The Mongrelfolk hold their positions, howling maddly as they unleash another volley of Javelins at their exposed attackers.
Attack@ Jen: 1d20 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) - 4 + 1 = 9
Javelins deflect off the walls and scatter across the floor but one punches through the air like a lightning bolt. Slamming into Jaeger with incredible force...
However he was still on his feet, a javelin in his side.
Two of the mongrelfolk held their positions behind the twin barriers while the one that had wounded Jaeger emerged from behind them. A brutal club in its hands as it advanced.
Party is up!

Jen winces as the javelin lands on Jaegaer. That did not look pleasant
Chakram: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 201d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Seeing the mongelmen advance the half-orcs shrugs off a chakram glinting from the mystic torchlight. Drawing the it back in a circular flick of the wrist as the leaps towards it target a blur of steel.
I'm assuming the second move action I use will put me within 30ft of the advancing mongrelman. if that is not the case remove 1 point from both hit/damage.

Jaeger tears the javelin from his side and rushes the club wielding mongrelman. He smashes Abyssion into the club from below nearly knocking it from his hands. if 5ft
Not wasting a moment Jaeger reverses the blades momentum and brings it crashing back to the ground nearly cutting his opponent in half.

DM Corerue |

Lol!
Jaegers blad tears through his opponent and Ethyra's healing magic closes up the injury in his side some.
1d20 ⇒ 20
The next few seconds of struggle were quickly decided and the remaining mongrelfolk fighters were brought down quickly now that Jaeger was close enough to circumvent the protection of their hastily created barriers.
Behind the barriers lies a single doorway, currently closed with a battered stone door...

Jaeger di Angelo |

" Well dat was fun." Jaeger says as he resheaths Abyssion. "Who des mooks be..." He says as he starts checking their bodies for any useful items or any clues as to who they might be allied with.

Jen' Dalash |

"I imagine we will find out that and more once we are through the door they were defending. We made some noise here, even with the door being made of stone I put even odds of them being ready for us." She glances to the still deathguards. Channeling a burst of her own power to the nearest one.

DM Corerue |

The shuffling and such had quieted down, now only an unnerving silence hung between the groups that was obviously on either side of the door. Jaegers words brought the sounds of harsh barking and shouts before finally the door opened revealing a heavily armored, in mismatched plate armor, mongrelfolk warrior wielding twin short blades. It gives a howl of challenge before it appears to be moving to engage the group!

Moving like a steel snake Abysion first snaps left the right knocking both blades out of line followed by blindingly fast strike sliding between the seams in the shoulder joint. The blade flicks back up in a quick salute the tip of the blade wet with his opponents blood before coming back on guard.

Jen' Dalash |

Did we ever establish if the deathguards we found here were dead or unconscious? We did come here for them so if they were alive Jen would have been in the process of fixing them up best she could.
" Yes it seems you are correct. Let us end this quickly then."
Jen frowns at the warrior rushing to fight them, feeling a tug on her heart as she hurls her chakram.
They are fighting to defend their home after all.

Enemy turn
The slightest of movements was seen from one of the fallen Deathguard's, though the other two appeared unmoving...
Your single foe cries out as Jaegers blade tears through their arm, the blood spray arcs upward and splashes across the roof of the worked cave. However the mongrelfolk is still standing, a look of rage in its eyes before it grunts from the Chakram's impact thrown at him from Jen and parts of their arm breaks under the impact.
Undaunted they engage Jaeger in close quarter combat with a raging roar!

Both blades hit but Jaegers bladework turns one possibly deadly blow into a bad gash instead. Though he was now bleeding profusely as he faced off with the raging angry mongrelfolk. The Mongrelfolk warrior was in no better shape and the two combatants appeared to be equally matched, especially with Jen's well aimed Chakram blow...
The sounds of shifting movement and guttural howls echo from behind the Mongrel Warrior, which appears to only make them more ferious by the second...
Party is up!

Jen' Dalash |

Looks like Julians AC is actually 21. So that first strike looks to miss barring circumstance
Jen gasps at seeing he ally wounded and bears down on the warrior who did it. Another chakram appearing in the womans hand like magic as she hurls it at her target.

Jaeger growls as one of the mongrelman's blades slip through his guard gashing his side. With a grim smile he flicks Abyssion up nicking the helmets eye slot causing the mongrelman to jerk his head back giving Jaeger the opportunity he was looking for and quickly drops the tip of the sword down and aims for the mongreman’s throat.

DM Corerue |

The Mongrelmen's fury was no match for Jen and Lasciel's attacks while injured as it was. Each blow made the warrior falter more and more, their now obviously wooden armor splintering under the assault. It was Lasciels strike that brought the warrior toppling down, its knees buckled and her strike sent them staggering back into the room it had appeared from just before falling flat on their back. Blood was quick to start pooling amid the angry howls and challenging roars of those defending the room...
Jaeger you still have a turn as does Ethyra. Lasciels attack brought them down and I didn't want to waste your actions. ^^;
Map coming up shortly.

DM Corerue |

Issues with Google Docs, moving forward.
Beyond the doorway a short, angry cat like mongrelfolk with kobold hands and a long lions bushy tail roars a challenge in a high pitched voice as it shakes a spear at Jaeger from across the room beyond the door. From the echos it becomes apparent that the room beyond is larger then it appears.

Lasciel |

Lasciel locks eyes with the mongrelfolk uttering a phrase in draconic as her eyes glow with a predatory ferocity, her presence washing over her enemy.
Cause fear: DC 15 will save. The affected creature becomes frightened. If the subject succeeds on a Will save, it is shaken for 1 round. Creatures with 6 or more HD are immune to this effect.

Jen' Dalash |

Sorry thought we were waiting on something. Actions now.
Jen sighs as she looks at the mongrelmen ahead and to the battle about to start. " We came to rescue the deathguard warriors behind us didn't we? If we push the barricade up into the door we can block these ones in here. Then we can leave with what we came for. Killing these mongrelmen won't bring any of the deathguard already slain back".
I really don't recall the reason we were here outside from rescuing the deathguards we found them about to get dragged in here. two of them fled, we found those two. Are there supposed to be more? If there are no more to find Jen would like to jam the door so we can leave.
If I missed something and we have a decent reason to beat the crap out of these guys.
Jen nods and steps through the doorway into the room itself, glaive in one hand and chakram in the opposite. The woman hurling her circular blade and readying her polearm with a flourish.
Chakram: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 221d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

This was formerly a fortress, for the most part you are here to help in securing it once more. Though the Deathguard were betrayed by a demon possessing their commander and a matter of conflicting imotions as the war has been long drawn out and costed the defenders much.
Will save vs Cause fear DC 15 - FAILED: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
For the spell to succeed Lasciel will have to enter the room, so i will update her as having moved into the room and casted the spell.
The Mongrelmen who had been throwing a challenge at Jaeger immiedietly growls as Lasciel steps into the room, beating their chest in aggression while making threatening and oddly obscene gestures as well to provoke her...
And provoke her it did...
Her spell's effects were immiedetly apparent as the once threatening and angry Mongrelfolk seemed to pale before her wrathful glory. So much so that it wasted no time at all fleeing the scene in absolute terror!
Updated on map, this one had actions left except its ready action was to move. Hahar,
Jen's Chakram lashes out, injuring one of the warriors on the far left severely but not bringing them down. Yet...
Waiting on Ethyra and Jaeger.

Jen gives a faint rasp of pain as she looked into the general melee and saw the archer in the back ranks I will need to do something about that one soon With a savage wrench the green skinned warrior pushed the arrow the scant remaining distance out of her shoulder. Significant portions of the damage the arrow had wrought healing in front of everyones eyes, though the bloodstains remained.

He quips as Abyssion flies out hooking around the bow and with a subtle twist of the blade and careful positioning of his shoulder it flies free of the archer's hands.

Jen' Dalash |

Jen seems concerned for a moment and then obviously impressed as Jaeger makes the packed battlefield look like some manner of waltz.
"Well, that also works." The half orc states blankly Had that been me there woul have been quite a few more blades of my foes involved. A good skill to have.

DM Corerue |

Gah I knew something was wrong! Post on the way, apparently I didn't succeed in posting -.-; My bad!
1d20 ⇒ 5
A single Javelin glances off Jen's armor as she rushes alongside the skilled Jaeger, who deftly avoids his enemies attacks and leaves them quite bewildered at his outrageous skill in avoiding them. The only other threat to Jen's movements was dispatched by Lasciels slashing claws and the sound of a crossbow bolt glancing off stone stings your ears and gives the flash of sparks before Jen is standing before the newly disarmed Archer.
Jaegers blade was like a blur and in the next moment the archer was giving a grunt at the stinging in its hands after being so viciously disarmed. It had little time to think about it before Jens glaive cleaved her from collarbone to thigh...
Jen's glaive cleaves the weak fabric that had clothed this creature, revealing it to all the world as it staggered before the pair of righteous warriors. It's body was that of a lizard and a spider with a rough human woman's face. Its washboard chest having been neatly cleaved along with its clothing, a detail that becomes more distorted as several useless looking spiderlegs fanned out, casting the clothing remnants aside. The female mongrelfolks six eyes pierced the darkness in a desperate and furious way. Her eyes shuddered in rage, all but two of them rolling madly in their sockets as she tried to avoid falling to her knees. She was near fatally injured by Jen's attack.
Enemy turn!
Blood splatters the floor at its feat as the scaled spiderfolk staggers. It places a hand over its split chest as it angrily growls in a different language. "NIND JUL ULNAR!" After these words it throws its hands wide, its wound splitting further as its eyes flashed red in the darkness. Shockingly it lunged at Jen in one last desperate attack!

No one expected it to do what it did, but the creature staggered past Jaeger and even as Abyssion slashed off three of its spider legs. It slapped aside Jen's glaive as she thrusted out at it before it closed and slammed into Jen's leather armor with its claws. The strike would have been far more deadly had she been as poorly clothed as this mongrelfolk had been. But its ill-fated attack drained what little consciousness it had left. The red glint in its eyes faded as it grunted out something else. "Aelus udossa... Xsa'us... udossa..." Its blood stained hand slid down Jens studded leather armor as it collapsed to the floor at their feet.

The rest of the fight was a struggle as the remaining warriors fought desperately to try and bring down one of their attacking foes! The two that Jaeger had been facing spit up, one swarming to flank Lasciel with the remaining warrior that was fighting her and the second lining up a Javelin and throwing it at Jen's back. The one that struck her gives a growl of satisfaction before retreating back through an open stone doorway...
Jen's moment with the fallen warrior is interrupted with the painful *Thunk* of the Javelin hitting her in the back.
Jaeger spots the retreating fighter that Lasciel had frightened heading to the back of the room where the Archer had come from, though standing as he was it was hard to see what it was doing in the back part of the room.
Hemmed in Lasciel is attacked on two different sides by her opponents who take completely advantage of her lonely state. Both stab at her with roughly sharpened javelins in an attempt to bring her down!
PARTY IS UP MAP UPDATED!

Jen' Dalash |

That works. It should be mentioned that unless I'm fighting monsters where it obviously won't work that Jen will be using non-lethal damage. Which I'm fine with being flavored as flesh wounds, just stuff that won't kill them without additional help.
As to undercommon, much as it would be quite useful for Jen to know it even though we leveled I can't see Jen picking up a language within an hour of showing up. Mechanically I could do it but it hurts my little gamer soul when I do that. It will be something I contemplate in the future though.
Additionally It is only with the crit that I realize Jen's AC on the tag-bar is still off. Whoops. That crit is going to land. though it doesn't look like any of the other attacks you made at me fall into that category.
LOH: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Jen grunts in pain giving the spears owner a glare of annoyance as she she wheels and moves to aid lasciel whos position was at least partly the paladins fault. Her strides not even slowing as the damage the recently thrown javelin had inflicted healed, the weapon clattering to the ground as fresh flesh pushed it away from the paladins body.
I'll deal with where that came from in a minute. Other events call my attention.

I'll go north then.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Jaeger splits from Jen and heads towards the other mongrelman warrior. "So ju always attack your guests unprovoked, or do ju jus really like us?" Jaeger says as Abyssion dances around his opponents guard teasing him.
Setting up opportunist feint if Lasciel hits this one.

Correct North is always the top of the map. I will always try and orinetated it that way to lessen confusion for myself and others. XD
Between Lasciel and Jen the remaining two Mongrelfolk fall quickly, Lasciels bleeding on the floor while the one Jen struck was merely knocked cold by her Glaives heavy blade flat. Jaeger's setup wasn't in vain as Lasciel's last foe fell to the floor. A moment later and Ethyra's healing magic washed over the group and the sound of clattering metal sounded from the northern room.
The clatter is that of two armored warriors that storm into the room wearing rather interesting Armor and horned helms
