Ethyra di Angelo |

That's weird I could have sworn I put at least a point in handle animals....oh well
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
"Wait!" He's not attacking out of malice. Ethyra calls out as she moves towards the giant lizard rummaging in her backpack for some dried meat.

DM Corerue |

The Lizard moves towards Jen once more, ignoring Ethyra hissing at everyone around it. Though it clearly is favoring its side where Jen struck it before. Its tail thrashes wildly as it steps in and tries biting her again, nimbly avoiding her glaive...

It lunges and this time around its teeth connect, digging into Jen's flesh and dragging her into a powerful. Crushing embrace as the reptiel capitalizes on its bite and coils around lower body. Making attacks with her Glaive all but useless for now...
Vote time. Saves be rolled by players or DM? Let me know. If players prefer too then Jen is totally good on rerolling her Save.

behold the lizard with jaw pressure enough to cause nuclear fission. I'm assuming that was a mistake and Jen hasn't instantly exploded.
Jen rears back with a choked cry of pain before attempting in to punch the lizard in the face.
spiked gaunt: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 111d3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Jen' Dalash |

Jen gingerly experiments with the solidly attached lizard to see how best to remove the beast without losing more of her skin. Completing this act one handed is difficult to say the least
" Would one of you give me a hand with this?"

Jen' Dalash |

Jen's disapproval is obvious on her face as Lasciel complete her act, the paladin having obviously not expected it. "I.. I guess that will work." the woman says with some small twinge of regret.
It was just an animal but still. I guess i'll have to be more careful what I ask.
With that done Jen sets about freeing herself again.

Jen' Dalash |

I actually enjoy having PC personalities clash in a setting like PbP. It makes for more interesting story if not everyone gets along and is much easeir to pull off without slowing the table down in this setting. So don't apologize it makes the game more interesting.
That is some good news Corerue.
Jen catches the lizards deadweight to prevent any further damage from its jaws before putting the beast on the ground. The woman inspecting the damage dealt to her with a frown as she releases another burst of healing magic to knit some of the damage.
LOH: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Don't suppose there is anything of obvious value in the kitchen? Not that Jen would be interested in taking it most likely but these things are good to know."
" Well looking in here this appears to be a kitchen of some kind. Perhaps specifically for curing meats? Regardless I am going to try one of the other doors unless we wish to brave the noxious cloud." Jen informs as she glances in the direction the fleeing mongrelman had taken.
" That way I think."
Unless we want to try the smoke Jen will be heading in the direction of the door in H4, the top left corner.

DM Corerue |

Pushing into H4 then?
In the southwestern part of this room, stout stone chairs surround
a block of larger stone that serves as a table. The table's top strewn
with bone dice and cracked clay jugs. Stained canvas pillows rest
on the chairs. A copper bowl filled with coals hangs from the ceiling, filling the room with warmth and an orange glow...
A hole in the ground in the southeast corner of the room drops down into area H6. A rope ladder hangs down the shaft-the ladder looks rickety, but is quite safe to use...
There is a door in the northeast part of the room as well, looking to be made of an older more worn wood...

Jen' Dalash |

Sounds right to me. Don't suppose that table has little carved figures and sheafs of paper with strange symbols on them?
Jen eyes the room warily for the warrior who had ran this way glancing between the rope ladder and door.
" Unless any of you disagree I am going to attempt to open the door next. I lack the skills to open a locked door silently so if any of you possess such skills they would be good to reveal now."
If none reveal such a skill.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Jen scrutinized the door before giving it a hopeful wiggle to check if it was locked.
I'm going to hedge my bets and guess the door is locked. If so, unless something prevents it assume Jen does repeated STR checks until the door gives in.
STR: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

DM Corerue |

Dice and small figurines adorn the table, along with abandoned and toppled over cups that must pass for tankards for the mongrelfolk.
The door isn't locked and swings open somewhat freely, revealing a sharp drop into the unknown...
Closer inspection reveals a pit with a creature rapidly consuming what appears to be a recently disposed of corpse of a humanoid, though its flesh has decayed so much that it was hard to tell if it was human.

Jen' Dalash |

Heh.
Jen winces on seeing the creature and slides out of the way so others can examine the pit if they desire. " I do hope that the escaped mongrelman went a different way. That is not a fate I would wish on anyone." The warrior then looking over at the rope ladder listening down the hole
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

DM Corerue |

Jen's attempt to see what lay below nearly costs her as the familiar sound of a crossbow's line snaps as it is fired. She jerks back instinctively feeling the bolt skim the side of her cheek just as she did so. Her skin felt like it was rope burned but the bolt head narrow missed the underside of her chin. She barely spots a retreating tail when she snags a swift glance down the small shaft...
