Cid arcs an eyebrow at Lomar as he watches the shadowing move forward brazenly.

He instead falls back to the group huddled up at the entrance "Any one a you got a magic trick could keep this place lit up, it'd be mighty appreciated. I look about the area, "I think those shrieks were pretty noisy but stealth is always worth a try. You go on"

I hold my position and stand ready to act as a bridge between the sneaks and the light-dependant.

Cid acknowledges Lomar and quietly sneaks down the path into the other area.

"The dark is our friend here. If only the history of this place was as freely given, we might find our way out more easily."

The opening is small enough where you'd have to press mostly through it to get a good look in the room beyond other than seeing it is mostly the same as the one you’re in. Statues of the same as you saw before greet you and you would be pressing past a pair of stone armoured feet.

Lomar:

Since Lomar had pressed forward he was the first through the hole and on the other side he was assailed by a foul stench.

Lomar's hand moves straight to his mouth as he tries not to sick up at the stench that hung in the air. The stench of rot, decay and sickening sweet scent of death. In the middle of the chamber was a low burning fire, a hunk of meat akin to the size of an animal’s calf was roasting over the fire on a spit. Near the fire was a small bedroll and along the walls was a horrific sight. Chains hang crisscross, back and forth along the northern rock wall.

A humanoid creature, the size of a human child, hangs limply from one of the chains, its right leg missing and a large wet spot shined wetly in the flickering fire light. It was hard to identify the creature in the flickering firelight. As Lomar shifted out of Cid's way the snap of a bone causes him to wince as it echoed in the chamber.

The chains rattle drawing his eyes to the far corner of the room where another child size humanoid huddles against the corner. It makes a muffled sound like it was trying to scream as it tried to make itself smaller covered in the rags of what once was a robe or cloak. It yanked at its chains trying to shriek but barely making a sound. It was then that Lomar felt a stab of pain in his shoulder...

Lomar Only:

Cid:

Cid moves as quietly as a shadow, his dark skin seeming to allow him to blend in as he moved around the corner quietly. The small opening was barely large enough for one person to slip through, more sized for a dwarf or other shorter squatter humanoid. Lomar was the first through and takes far too long to move out of your way, when he does the sound of a snapping bone under his fought causes several things to happen. You hear rattling chains and a quiet muffled cry reach you just as you press through the opening.

Directly above Lomar is a creature; it is holding on to the unworked stone of the cavern wall and watching you from the pure darkness above. It has two 10ft long tentacle like arms that end in four long thing and clawed fingers. The moment you look upon it, it’s mouth opens unnaturally wide, revealing rows of teeth as it’s jaw splits open in the center and reveals three rows of sharp brutal teeth as it hisses quietly at you.

Cid and Lomar disappear through the small opening and mere moments after Lomar disappears the rattling of chains can be heard, it’s fairly quiet but as the noise continues the sound begins to rebound eerily off the chamber walls you’re all standing in...

Cid is greatly disturbed by this sight. The a dying child reminds him too much of his daughter. This is a rare time in which the dark-elf displays emotion. His face felt long as he frowned, and he grew warm. Still, he continued forward to investigate, and hopefully bring Lomar back into the tunnel.

Who ever did this.... must die....

The dark-elf crept his way to Lomar who is just outside the tunnel. Once he reached him, he tried to grab him and bring him back inside the tunnel. (If that's possible)

The moment you try to move Lomar you are swatted by five long claws that jet out at you from above. The chain rattling prisoner's renew's their effort seeming to be frantic now and as you ready yourself you see what had clawed you as it scrambles up the wall out of sword reach. Moving to position itself above you and the entrance to the room.

Ini Cave Dweller Vs Cid: 2d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (7, 4) + 6 + 5 = 22

The creature had long limbs, a jaw that split at the chin and revealed several rows of teeth as it hissed at you. It was smaller then you, its form somewhat hunched over, but it was so limber that you were unsure what to expect next as it climbed the hard rock wall with ease. Seeming to glide over the surface as it continued to face you like the wild beast it was. You discover that, despite it being out of your sword reach, you however were not out of it's reach. It moves so startling quick that it lashed at you a second time.

Attack + High ground: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 = 16

It's claws rake across the statue behind you, narrowly missing you in the process...

Sparks fly off the statue from the impact of its strike. It is then the prisoner spits free what was gagging its cries and shrieks with all the might of a small girl can unleash.

Cid you up, your opponent is 10ft above you. moving through the passage will elicit an AoO from the long limbed creature as it is kjust above the opening to leave this room. However, judging by its exact position it won't be able to strike you if you pull back, moving furter into the room.

Chamber of Statue's group...

Seren spots Lomar's fallen form and the quick movement of Cid's feet just before a small set of sparks flashed at the edge of her vision. This is quickly followed by the shriek of a child that everyone hears. "S%^&!" Is the best Anevia can muster as she readies her crossbow and Aravashnial trips over himself as he moves in the wrong direction following a rebounding echo and collides with Anevia. "What is it? What do we face now?" Is the best he can muster before Horgus grumbles. "Good grief..."

With unnatural reflexes, Cid flips out of the way, moving further into the large room, leaving Lomar inside the small tunnel where he will hopefully be protected. He then trains his crossbow on the vile creature and releases a bolt.

Cid's crossbow bolt sparks off the wall to the right of the longarmed cave creature. It hisses at his retreat and looks down on Lomar's fallen form and it hisses loudly again, dribbling spittle across Lomar's face as the Warlock is forced to stare straight up at the ceiling...

Cid and Lomar, remember you are both sickened. Which means you have a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.

When Jaeger pressed out of the small passage he grunted as the creature raked him across the back with its long clawed fingers. It hissed as his sword slashed across its arm uselessly as the stench overwhelmed his senses...

It was outside his swords reach, keeping towards the ceiling of the cavern as it used its clawed feet to hold onto the surface of the cave walls. He noticed as it pulled back its long arms, that its claws were dripping with some kind of ichor...

Ethyra narrowly avoids being slashed by the creature as its claws spark off the wall just above her head as she grabs for Lomar and successfully drags him to safety.

No Jaeger the dice roller changed on me it was originally a 17 so I am not gonna paralyse you.

Apologies everyone as I misspoke on its position. You opponent is 10ft off the floor. Using its superior 10ft reach to lash out at you from a safe position. Hence why Cid retreated and shot a crossbow at it. That is also why when Jaeger popped out of the small opening it got an AoO as it entered its threatened area. However he blocked it from lashing at Ethyra and Lomar by standing in its square. So until it climbs down you will need to use reach or ranged weapons to his it. Also ranged weapon damage is not affected by the sickened condition as that would be silly. It does effect your aim though. :)

Updated Map as Cid did move upto his speed away from the creature to shoot at it. Creature was placed to reflect it being higher on the wall instead of appearing at ground level. Apologies.

The creature scuttles along the wall, hissing at you all and staying out of reach of your weapons as it heads around the northern wall towards the chained prisoner that is still struggling in the Northeast corner.

2x Move (20ft)

When the creature starts moving towards it the prisoner begins to struggle harder, blood seeps around the manacles around it's small childlike wrists as it desperately tries to break free. It freezes completely when a rough voice rises behind Cid. "Ya finally came to kill me eh?[b][smaller] Cid and Jaeger both turn to see a dwarf standing in middle of the broad exit that leads out of this hellish cave you were fighting in. The speaker was a dwarf with matted hair and a crazed expression upon his haggard face. He was so thin he was like a walking skeleton. He raises his thin fingers and exclaims. [b][smaller]"
My children! KILL THESE CRUSADERS!"
A rattling rises behind the thin dwarf who smiles evilly at Cid.

The Dwarf smile never reaches his eyes as his form begins to waver and distort making it hard to determine where he was standing. "Ya drove me from Kenebras but I rule the depths. My children will devour you all!"

Although completely oblivious to the goings on in the next room, Kieran heeds his own advice and sets himself defensively at the neck. ”Y'all stay back,” he tells the others, ”n’ keep way from the walls too. That toothy lil’ shits got a mean reach on her.”

Cid regards the thin dwarf with a dark glare. He finall got a look at the struggling prisoner and it wasn't like any creature he had seen. Despite its childlike size it had the traits of several creatures. Scaly skin like a lizard, canine eyes akin to a gnolls and short claws like a goblin. It's face was half human and half scaled like a lizard, it was a truly bizarre combination. But the fear in its eyes was definitely that of a child. "I should thank you..."

The thin dwarf smiled and Cid's heart started to race as his eyes narrowed. The dwarf wasn't bleeding...

The thin dwarf smiled more broadly. "I'll enjoy eating you hunters..." With that he looked Jaegers way as he licked his dried lips.

[b]Your next![/i]" He points his long bony finger at Jaeger as he moves a few steps out of the exit to the room. The rattling of metal and something else grows closer...

Kieran's face glows red at the sound of Seren's update. He wrings his mailed hands over the haft of his hammer and makes a conscious effort to control his breathing.

This should have been part of the above post but I was pulled into a meeting at work. Even though I was obviously in the middle of something! The nerve of some people...

Following up on Seren's suggestion, Kieran does his best to describe their adversary to the blind wizard. "Aravashniel, there's some long-armed... tar-black... ugly-lookin' bugger stuck on the walls, takin' swings at whatever's close by. Got anything could bridge that advantage?"

His feet urged him to burst into the next room but his head, while he still had control over it, kept him in place. There were still people who needed to be protected. Cid was down, that meant he MUST get to him as quickly as possible. The annoying warlock was suffering from some horrible affliction meaning the wall crawler had some nasty defenses. In the mind of the Barbarian, all these passing thoughts and conflicting priorities slowly started fading into a warm and familiar red hue over his vision.

Ethyra looked up upon hearing that Cid was down worry wormed its way through her heart. Jaeger was also in there facing Desna knows what. She quickly rushed towards the cavern mouth. When she sees Cid down and the dwarf standing there threatening her beloved she begins a prayer. Mother goddes I know I've asked many a favor from you please be patient with me and grant a few more Brandishing her holy symbol she blesses her allies with Desna's luck.

Undead Up

Jaeger, Ethyra and Seren watch as four large shadows glide into the room, soon revealing themseleves to be three skeletons armed with swords and a savage looking gnoll zombie with a lucerne hammer. As Ethyra's blessing washes over the room the Thin Dwarf hisses in displeasure. "Filthy little priest! Your gods have no place here! Kill them my children, devour them all!"

Jaeger and Seren are up! Lomar 1 round to go!

...I hope I don't regret using my hero point but I don't want me evil cleric to keep throwing spells, and with a cleric and a paladin the undead should be easyish so let's see about Mr. Anerexic[

"Kill us? No mon ami." Jaeger begins calmly before dashing forward Abyssion held before him the slow undead unable to catch the tiefling he breaks through their ranks. "It's you who will die!" He growls out as he slashes out with Abyssion.

Really hoping that is one zombie down. We need some crowd control so that we can overwhelm foes.


Jaeger charged the undead lines, attempting to tumble through them with moderate success, the zombie in the center proved quick with it's Lucerne Hammer and thankfully missed Jaegers head. By a small margin. However one skeleton proved it retained a shard of its former swordsmanship and slashed Jaeger brutally across his arm. Through off his attack as he struck out at the Thin Dwarf. As he swung Abyssion glanced off something unseen and the thin dwarf laughed at the empty bravado of his would-be destroyer. "Nice sword! Too bad you can't swing it worth a s^&*!"

The dwarf has little time to gloat as Seren's glaive shatters the skeleton that had slashed Jaeger. "You'll pay for that!" He hisses at the Paladin.

The Cave Dweller moves around the ceiling, closer to the prisoner who sits whimpering in the corner. It appeared none to concerned by the plight of the others as its multi-fanged maw dripped with fresh saliva at the meal to come...

After milling around for a moment, unsure as to what to do, Horgus and the others finally move up Anevia with her crossbow ready and Arvashnial's hands crackling with readied arcane enrgy. Horgus pulls at his collar and sidles up next to the ceiling staring Lomar. "I'll guard the rear..." He mumbles none to convincingly...

Anevia shakes her fist at the doorway. "I'm not sure what we can do but we'll do our best!"
