I'm still here, it's just been a really busy workweek. I'll try to get a post up this weekend!

...Never mind. I've an idle mind. Before you pull the lever, let me prepare. I've a little trick in mind. Bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 Kynes turns away, and opens his pack. He searches for a moment, then pulls out a mask of the mantis, and donned the frightful device. Ah yes. Just in case there are some invisible nastiness after you pull that lever, you know? Kynes mutters the command word for see invisible, and then, for deathwatch.
Retracting this. I thought maybe deathwatch could tell if an illusion of something living is not living. But the internets say i am wrong.

Basically, a will save.

Just so I know what the characters are referring to and how to phrase Vencarlo's response:
Li, you're testing to see if he knows about "Fran" and Vesper?
Garvid, you're bluffing about having a duel with Vencarlo to test him?

@GM - Kind of. Garvid's implying he was studying in the academy at the same time as the two more famous students, Grau Soldado and Sabina Merrin under Vencarlo.
In other news, I finally moved out of the shoebox I was living in to a new room in a house! I have a wardrobe now! And a real bed! And it's 5 minutes to work!

Hey everyone! I've perhaps unwisely decided to run the classic 36 page module Carrion Hill, and have opened up a recruiting thread here. Anyone from this game would get preferential odds of making the cut, so if you feel like jumping in, please make a submission!

Same :(. I love the theme and would like to play the module, but I don't have enough time right now to put in the proper effort. I'll definitely follow along though!

Has it been 10 minutes since the last fight? I want to know if I am still in the monstrous physique.
I am still under some other buffs I think:
Buffs:Barkskin (90 minutes +4 Alchemical Natural Armor Bonus), Mutagen (90 minutes, +4 Str -2 Int, +2 Untyped Natural Armor Bonus)

Would be delighted to! I'll ponder a bit regarding the theme, but I could absolutely go for some Lovecraftian vibes.

I forgot to roll for them! I also had the DC for your invective too high. As a result, I deleted the post. I'll adjust it and repost it shortly.
Edit: Avidexu is also more than 30' from you--outside the range of blistering invective. Looks like you can only target the snakes unless you move forward.

It still works out very well for you guys. The enemy has rolled very poorly. That was a very effective opening salvo. This fight might not take very long at all!

I have it at home. It's a really entertaining read!
Also note that Yazi's hunter's blessing will apply against Avidexu but not the cobras. Also, they have reach so be prepared for an AoO if you have to step closer than 10' from them.

I keep forgetting to use my Hurtful Feat, which I could have used against one of the snakes.
Hurtful When you successfully demoralize an opponent within your melee reach with an Intimidate check, you can make a single melee attack against that creature as a swift action. If your attack fails to damage the target, its shaken condition from being demoralized immediately ends.

I think when you demoralized you were out of melee range? Even with reach, they had to move forward to attack you.

Hey, Kynes' attacks are pretty scary themselves, investigators are an amazing class.
Question at GM, as that just came to mind. Would I be able to use Spell Sunder against ongoing negative effects on my allies, like say the symbol of pain? The FAQs seem to support that idea, and the guy that wrote it mentions that being part of the way he intended it. I'll link the posts where that's discussed tonight, but I'm just double checking with you if you think that's ok.
Being so angry that you break curses and enemy spells does sound like a Garvid thing to do, and it's a cool and thematic rage power, IMO.

@Li the effect lasts one hour from exposure.
@Garvid RAW your proposal seems to be allowed. You can link the discussion posts for the RAI but I'm inclined to agree with you purely on the ability description.
Garvid is a great character btw. One could write a whole novel around him.
I absolutely agree!

            Awesome Talfryn.
I was wondering if this would work. For this spell, the transported creature must be willing. Since she is at -8 hp and unconscious, I wondered (for the purposes of this spell!, not generally), can she be considered willing?
The answer appears to be yes.

@Kynes you don't take the Con damage this turn, but you need to continue saving until you get two consecutive saves. The poison lasts 6 rounds and you've rolled 3 times, so at most you'll need to roll 3 more times. It doesn't matter for the roll you made, but remember that Con damage impacts your Fort save.

Sorry guys. It's US thanksgiving this week and I'm caught in pre-holiday work rush. I also have a house guest and am planning a party on Friday. You might not hear from me for a few days, but when things calm down a bit I'll get back to posting.
Even if it's not Thanksgiving where you are, know that I'm very thankful to have you all as PbPers :).

Speaking of Carrion things, does anyone have (or knows of) a Carrion Crown game that could use another PC? My dhampir monk is recently orphaned following the demise of her game due to the GM stepping down, and I would really like to continue playing both the character and the campaign.

Thanks, I was actually in with a different character for the second table of that game, which fizzled out due to lack of interest from the other players. GM Nayr did invite me to the other game after that happened, but I had just gotten into the first CC game I mentioned, so I declined the invitation.
