I was thinking with Wandering Hex - I just couldn't remember precisely when you got it and didn't have time to look it up. Technically, it can be done even without Life Link; everyone just takes a turn to lace up, but that feels a bit sillier.
The Wicked GM
Also, don't forget about your hero points. Everyone has one right now, and you'll gain one each level.
Here's a link to their uses. Among them, "[y]ou can petition the GM to allow a hero point to be used to attempt nearly anything that would normally be almost impossible." So, e.g. you could easily convince me to wake from unconsciousness with 1hp, or quickly recover 2-3hp to bring you out of the disabled condition.
Sorry I didn't mention this early--it really just occurred to me!

I am lurking while updating the round. Unless Cal or Garvid post in the next 15 minutes, I'll bot them. This weekend is a holiday (yay!), so I'll understand if people aren't able to post each day. I'll be around, though.
The Wicked GM
I've placed a link to "Loot" in my tagline. This is a google doc that we'll use to track loot. It should be editable by anyone to allow you to claim certain items.
For simplicity's sake, I'll usually just assume that bodies are routinely searched. I'll leave it to you to decide who gets to keep what. Those items not claimed I assume will be liquidated and divided evenly, though you are free to decide otherwise.

So Yazi's use of sleep here raises an important point: 1-round cast time.
Generally a spell with a 1-round cast time (e.g. sleep, enlarge person, summon X) will take effect at the end of my (enemy) round, just before the PCs are up again. So Yazi casting sleep won't be resolved until the very end of my next post. If Yargin happens to fall unconscious in my post, her spell won't take effect and won't be used. Otherwise, I would resolve all PC actions from this round, take my turn, then resolve the effects of the 1-round-cast-time-spell. Does this make sense?
I know some GMs sort of ignore 1-round cast times in PbP, but I'd like to preserve that when I think of it (have I mentioned I make a lot of mistakes???).
Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend. I'll update late tonight.
The Wicked GM
That's completely up to you.
Jamros Lightouch
I'm ignoring extended family, so the usual.
The Wicked GM
Roger that Yazi. Also want to make sure we understand the layout of this map. The larger room where the fat man lurks is below the slippery room where we entered, so as you move in you're actually above him on a catwalk and have to go down a set of stairs to reach the floor (unless you want to try jumping). The fishery is (at least) two stories, not to mention the ship anchored out back.
The Wicked GM
My next update won't be until tomorrow afternoon. Bed sounds so good right now...:)
Jamros Lightouch
I feel compelled to do something foolhardy. Something involving acrobatics.
Jamros Lightouch
Was gonna leap off the catwalk onto Yargin, but I erred to the side of caution.

Someone recently ran an AP player opinion poll through Reddit, got over 400 responses, and posted the results.
Here's the link. . I'm pleased to see CotCT rank so highly across the board!

For now, I've gone ahead and provided the value for just about everything. I like for skills (e.g. appraise) to have value, but I don't want to slog us down with a ton of rolls every time we find loot. So, I think that for most mundane items like basic armor and weapons, I'll just provide the value because you're all seasoned Korvosans who are familiar with the business end of a blade. But for certain things like treasure, jewels, and magical items, I'll either ask for an appraise or make the roll on your behalf (I think Li is currently the only one with a rank in appraise). If you have ideas for how you'd like to implement other background skills please let me know.
Following the end of this intro "dungeon" I'm going to ask you for feedback on how the game is progressing, so please think about suggestions and constructive critiques that might improve your play experience.

I just bought the Ultimate Intrigue PDF! Looks like it could contain some goodies for us. I look forward to reading it this week and seeing what would fit well.
Jamros Lightouch
Oh, that right. I forgot that came out wednesday. Time to visit my game store I guess.
Jamros Lightouch
Just realized I can't use an acid splash wand because I have neither UMD, nor the ability to learn the actual spell.
The Wicked GM
You can! Wands are spell trigger items. "Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. ". Acid splash is on the inquisitor spell list. No UMD needed.
Jamros Lightouch
Oh yeah, you're totally right.

How much would you cry or break down screaming if cat-sized spiders were actually a thing? o.O
EDIT: Also, I just realized that with my Unlearned drawback, I can't roll untrained Knowledge checks except with one Knowledge skill. And I just realized I don't think I ever actually chose which Knowledge skill that was. :/ Since I just did it with Knowledge (nature), can we go ahead and set that as the one I can do, since it's already too late to edit the post? It kind of makes sense anyway, at least in this case - time in the streets giving her some situational knowledge of street-type critters.

Luckily, I've never had to test that!

That's fine with me. Or you can go ahead and pick another knowledge--whatever you think best fits the character. Nature does make sense, but so would local. Both would find use in the AP.
Marial "Mouse" Redfist
I'll go with nature, since I've just made an untrained nature check and I don't want to gain an unfair advantage. (There's a decent chance I'm going to put at least one point into Knowledge (local) later anyway.)

Ever heard of camel spiders.

Hi all,
I'm looking to start a Beginner Box campaign for people new to PbP. If you know someone who's a relative newbie either to Pathfinder or play-by-post, please send them to the recruitment thread. Thanks!
The Wicked GM
I'll update tomorrow morning. Goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the freakishly large spiders bite...
The Wicked GM
Is anyone having issues with the map? I've logged in on mobile and I only see a couple PC tokens. Are you generally able to see the tokens of other players and NPCs? Please let me know if things don't look right b/c I may not realize it from my end.
Jamros Lightouch
It's not just you. I'd make sure the rest of the tokens aren't on the previous map.
Garvid Krein
Whoops, sorry for not being really active lately, stuff got a bit complicated at university, and deadlines are breathing down my neck!
On a game-related note, GM, how do you rule bull rushing and repositioning enemies into dangerous places? Since homebrewing that to be possible is something I've seen pretty much everyone do, and otherwise all those fancy moves are sort of useless.
The Wicked GM
Not a problem Garvid, thanks for letting us know. Regarding your question, I think I'll allow it. It's hardly game breaking, as a wizard can already put the harm where the enemy is. I like seeing creative use of the battlefield and I'd usually let people try to bull rush an enemy off a cliff or into a fire. And the enemy might try the same!
Basically we're gaining the feat Tactical Reposition for free.
The Wicked GM
Yazi, You can ready a standard cast, but sleep is a full round, so it will be a daze spell. Update coming in a bit. I'm on the edge of my seat!
Marial "Mouse" Redfist
*waits with bated breath* :)
By the way, it's perfectly fair if reacting how she has puts Mouse in a whole world of trouble - I'm well aware I've left her wide open for surprises. What can I say? He's one of her weak spots. ;)
Jamros Lightouch
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Was busy with friends.
Jamros Lightouch
Post is coming tonight around 7:30 pm
Jamros Lightouch
Couldn't post today. Had a game.
Jamros Lightouch
Garvid's last action reminded me that I don't actually know how many Harrow points we have. Wicked, could I persuade you to display that somewhere that we can easily reference.
The Wicked GM
Re daze/doom: my bad, I mixed up your tactics with Yazi's from a prior round. We'll just roll with it--Asmodeus granted you eldritch psychic powers for a round!
Re harrow points: I've included the numbers at the bottom of the "harrow point uses" doc. Everyone has 2 points for Book 1, and I believe Garvid just used the first.
Jamros Lightouch
Thanks
The Wicked GM
Yazi's sharp-shooting has reminded me to add a "Hero Points" doc to my tagline to track the use of those (as distinct from the Harrow Points).
Garvid Krein
Whoops! Forgot about the bardic song. I formally apologise to the Society of Party Buffers and beg for forgiveness and for +1 damage to be added to the sling attack.
The Wicked GM
Update coming tomorrow. I need to fall into bed :/.
The Wicked GM
Jamros did you mean to include a standard action in your post? I'm assuming you mean to cast Doom on Lamm?
Jamros Lightouch
No I'm good. I'm pulling out my crossbow on my next turn and firing. Also I'm out of spells.
The Wicked GM
You also have that wand of acid splash.
