It was a calculated risk. If the dice hadn't been against you she might not have survived to stand.
Garvid, please disregard the damage you received in that last round. Standing was a move action so she shouldn't have been able to full attack. The first attack against Mouse is valid, though.
That's what I get for trying to squeeze in a post right before bed :).
Also, level 10!

Yazi I can continue to track wand charges as part of my normal inventory management. 9 charges to get Mouse topped off, down to 14 charges. Without me keeping track, the PCs should ask for healing when needed.
Normally we would need to rest for the level to take full effect, however I think it will just be easier in this instance to say that you get immediate access to any new spells, spell slots, abilities, BAB, saves, etc.
But note that any healing needed should consume current resources, and any spells already cast, or other "daily" resources used, are gone for the day.
The Wicked GM |
I ended up not packing my laptop, so any posting I do will be on mobile. Not ideal!
7 charges to heal Garvid and Neo. 7 charges left on that wand.
Talfryn, I recommend some ranks in Fly for you. We're using Background Skills as well.
The Wicked GM |
I wouldn't rush. It will be several days at least before we would have a combat post.
Any tips?

Starting to see spells etc at this level that require non standard components with a gp attached to them (e.g., diamonds, black adder venom). Are we playing components? I know a lot of people just ignore those component parts of the rules except as flavor, but some are really into it. In theory, I can see components as a way to both keep magic users in check at the high levels, and even lead to adventures on quests for components, etc, but it does involve a lot of bookkeeping.
I'm fine either way, but I wanted to ask before I choose my next extract.

The one where I rip my ear off and it turns into a butterfly?
I mean.
How is this a question?
Garvid is learning a lot about unorthodox law enforcement techniques.
Yaziyah Tanja |
I was trying to update my profile yesterday, but the site was down and this week is work trip territory so I won't be able to update until Thursday or so. In terms of hexes, I took Prehensile Hair (Yazi already had Strangling Hair as a spell, so it kinda fits), and for spells I took Stoneskin and Dismissal.

Fair warning, I have an awful week of work and a promotion interview ahead, and it's occupying a lot of my brain space. I'll do my best to keep my posting rate up, but if I ghost for a day or two that's why.
The Wicked GM |
I am returned! But, I need to pay attention to the games I'm playing in. I expect to resume GMing here this weekend or next week.
Norelia "Li" |
If Li takes Stealthy Sniper as her Advanced Talent and Stealth as her next Skill Unlock with Rogue's Edge, would they stack so that she would have no penalty for sniping?
Trying to finalize her choices for Lvl 10...
The Wicked GM |
Li, it looks like they would stack (nothing in the ability descriptions says otherwise). If I learn otherwise I'll let you know, but for now let's assume you're correct.
I added a token for Neolandus in Roll20.
Any loose ends/questions to tie up here? I feel rusty after 2.5 weeks off...
The Wicked GM |
Yep, or west back the way you came
Norelia "Li" |
Level 10:
+8 HP
+1 BAB
+1 Ref
+1 to following skills:
Acrobatics
Bluff
Climb
Disable Device
Escape Artist
K.local
K.dungeoneering
Perception
Sense Motive
Stealth
Bkgd: Profession(baker), sleight of hand
Advanced Rogue Talent: Stealthy Sniper - When a rogue with this talent uses the Stealth skill to snipe, she only suffers a –10 penalty on the Stealth check, instead of –20.
Rogue Talent: Certainty - The rogue chooses one of the skills she selected with rogue’s edge. Once per day, the rogue can reroll a skill check she just made with the selected skill and take the better result. She can use this reroll with the selected skill one additional time per day at 10th level Stealth
Rogue's Edge: Stealth
5 Ranks: Reduce the Stealth penalty from sniping by 10.
10 Ranks: Stealth check penalties for moving quickly are halved,
including the ability unlocked at 5 ranks, moving full speed, and
reaching concealment after creating a distraction.

I was right. XD It was an even crazier week than I thought it'd be, but that madness should be finished with now, and I think the interview went well! I'll have Mouse leveled up in the next couple of days.
The Wicked GM |
Wow, the pole dancing rajambari in Roll20 are just magnificent. Bravo!
The Wicked GM |
Should I assume Li pulls the lever?
The Wicked GM |
Today's extremely busy. It'll probably be tomorrow before I get a chance to post.
The Wicked GM |
Li that's correct. The effect isn't permanent, but it won't fade anytime soon.
The Wicked GM |
@Li these are the same two levers. They should be visible in the map.
The Wicked GM |
Garvid, your last gameplay post was Sept. 19. Are you still with us?
The Wicked GM |
Note with Linguistics DC 20 check you can decipher "simple messages" in an unknown languages.
The Wicked GM |
Busy day. I won't post until tomorrow at the earliest.
Norelia "Li" |
What about the gem on the wall? Can Li take a look at that to see if it's trapped or how easily it can be pried out of the wall? Seems like a safer bet than the chests at this point :)

Hey guys - sorry for disappearing without notice... again. Turns out I was a lot more stressed at my last job, and it hit me just after I quit in a weird way...
Anyway, back now!

I've definitely been there. There have been times when I've been relieved of work responsibilities and think "Man, I'm gonna get so far ahead in my games," only to find myself completely preoccupied and not having the energy to post as much.
PbP is fun, and work!
Leah Kynes |
I just want to give a heads up. I'm not quitting yet, unless I start being a drag on the group, but I am at this critical point right now in my work, that I've little energy for much else. Thinking about my PbP games makes me feel exhausted...hopefully, that will turn around soon, but I thought I should bring it up.

It's actually a pretty normal reaction for the bad effects of stress to hit at their strongest after you've left the bad situation - it's a built-in safety mechanism.
"Oh, we're not going to be eaten by lions now? It's safe? Sweet, now we can do this!" *starts shaking*
It happens to me all the time, twice last week. :) Nothing for it but to push through, but know that we're here for you!
The Wicked GM |
Can Yazi tell who the "owner" would be in this case?
Not with a simple Spellcraft check. There are probably divination spells that could do the trick.
Any actions for the remaining chests, or do we move north?
The Wicked GM |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The third eye bloodstone has an owner. The stone is merely a receiver and transmitter. The third eye itself would be attached to the owner.
The Wicked GM |
I don't know! And I can't find a reasonable explanation on the boards as to whether destroying the symbol ends its lingering effects.
Under GM Rule #1, let's say it can if Yazi's check is high enough.
The Wicked GM |
*bump*
Happy Halloween! But that isn't just something in the night. Looking for a decision about what we do next.
