Li makes reference to her handy haversack in this gameplay post and this discussion post. I believe it was handed down from Pietro.
There was also a bag of holding procured from Vencarlo's trunk.

Nice! Also, a reminder to use the "Wish List" tab on the loot doc. Write in items you'd like to have for your character. I'll be keeping an eye on it. For instance, a couple of listed items found their way into Pilt's Palace...

Eh, about me - moved to London, working long hours with an even longer commute. Looking for work at the moment, and heavily considering going for a masters or a doctorate this year or the next...
Leah Kynes
re:Doctorate: Been there done that. Not sure how it is in London, but in the States, prepare to be poor and always tired for 6-8 years (unless independently wealthy already, in which case, awesome). If it sounds like I'm a downer on Ph.D., its because I am. I could have started a programming job a decade ago and done well for myself, but instead I went for science and a Ph.D, and am still hunting for a professor position. This is all to say, whatever your field is, walk in with eyes open.
Norelia "Li"
One more question...which Palace is Salvator referring to when he asked if Li happened to take a painting?
------
I stopped at my Masters but I knew I didn't want to run my own lab or teach so it made more sense for me to stop. Depending on what field you're in, myself being in medical sciences, you also have to do a couple postdoctoral fellowships after you get your PhD. Now I manage someone else's lab and only get to do science occasionally :(
The Wicked GM
Oh, good question! It was Pilts's Palace that had the stack of Salvator's paintings. I took the liberty of adding them to the loot sheet, so it's not a stretch to say you took them with you.
Marial "Mouse" Redfist
Yeah, it's the "poor and tired for a decade" part that's got me hesitant to ever go back for a masters/PhD...I just have to decide whether "already $25,000 in debt and in a job that doesn't give any benefit for my expensive piece of paper" is any better...oh well. I've got a job I like well enough that pays my bills plus some, working with people I like, in a place I like, with a lot of current expansion and thus advancement opportunities - I'm better off than most, really. (So much expansion. Our team will be near-doubling in size over the next several months, and we're already only just barely staffed. And I'm the scheduling manager for the whole mess. XD)

Busy few days ahead. My posting may slow.
The Wicked GM
Can someone remind me what this dagger is about?
Talfryn, the dagger first appeared here, found among Verik Vancaskerkin's belongings in All the World's Meat back in Book 1 ("Welcome to the Guard").
The Wicked GM
By the by, Glorio is known for handing out candies to the children, not candles!
The Wicked GM
This week at work is going to be very busy, so expect slower posting. This will be followed by two weeks where I expect to be more available. Then, from Sept. 20-30, I'll be traveling abroad (Armenia). While I expect to have internet access, experience tells me that I may not do much actual posting.
Just a heads up!
The Wicked GM
*bump*
Any discourse with Glorio? Anyone can talk. Note that Kynes did achieve an impressive diplomacy roll.
Lord Talfryn Blackoak
Sorry! Talfryn doesn't give two hoots about diplomatic bridges with monsters like Pilts and Arkona. If this becomes an issue IC for Leah, we should def have an IC convo about it. Apologies OOC if this is frustrating to you as a player, however!
Leah Kynes
no no its fine.
Kynes has heard of the issues with the Arkona family, but has not had any particular interactions with this Arkona, and may be missing some information that Talfryn has about some recent history. I mean, I think there were some interactions at a meat house or something?
Yaziyah Tanja
Before Yazi speaks of this IC, is it intended that Lord Arkona can't keep his family relation with Meliya straight? He did refer to her as his sister in a previous post, now he claims they're cousins.
The Wicked GM
He did indeed! How peculiar.

One of the parties' first missions was to infiltrate an illicit slaughterhouse that was serving "meat" to the poor during the riots that followed the king's death. The "meat" turned out to be human flesh. The leader of these "cow hammer boys" proved to be ignorant of these crimes, but did disclose a connection to one "Vimanda Arkona", the putative daughter of Glorio.
This was also when we discovered the serpentine dagger.

Just a reminder that everyone should be level 9, with spells and abilities refreshed.
The Wicked GM
I've been having a lot of fun with the shadow conjuration and shadow evocation line recently. There's a small learning curve if you've never used them before, but there are excellent guides out there.
The Wicked GM
A little clarification on the map here. At the point where the stairs touch the hidden garden, the ledge is a 100-ft drop. The ledge surrounding the cave slopes downward to the southwest corner of the chamber (I've drawn a red circle here), where it's only a 50-foot drop. The rope bridge from here descends to to the lower ledges and areas.
For clarity, Li, Kynes, and Talfryn are up for full round actions.
The Wicked GM
@Li: no not yet at the bottom. Also, where are you moving to? If you jump south you're diving into the ravine (which is an option). To escape the cloud otherwise you need to move east and south, as the clouds consume the entire northern area of the ledge.
The Wicked GM
The bridges are an option. If you leap, you'll need to make a Reflex save to "catch" one, or else you're plummeting 100ft down into what sounds like water.
You can also use your acrobatics roll to move past them without provoking, but the DC is 28, higher than you've rolled. I'll let you decide whether you want to stay put (failing the check) or move past and provoke attacks of opportunity (they're not flat-footed as they acted during the surprise round).
I've added rings to the graphics to give you an idea where the spore clouds end.
Edit: also remember if you succumb to the gas you're fatigued, an automatic -2 Str and -2 Dex, which lowers Reflex saves and Dex-based skill checks by 1.
Norelia "Li"
Does it matter which fort save out of the three that was failed? Was it three rolls because there were three clouds simultaneously?
And if she decides to go the leap route to catch a bridge, does she roll a Ref or do you use what I rolled and add my ref bonus (minus 1 of course)?
The Wicked GM
Yes, the three fort saves are attributable to three separate spore clouds. All have an identical effect.
If you leap, you can use your current d20 roll, modified by your Reflex-1 rather than acrobatics.

Hey guys!
My car broke down yesterday, which pushed my already long commute to two and a half hours. I'll get a post up tonight, sorry for spotty posting!
Lord Talfryn Blackoak
DM, I'm gonna go for Overland Flight and Shadow Evocation. Done!
Since I never posted my buffs (as I wasn't sure what spells I was going to get) can I mark what I had cast going in before the clouds?
The Wicked GM
I just botted you for the first round, but you can certainly declare what buffs were present before the fight started. Great spell choices!
Yazi, I believe at level 9 barkskin now gives you +4 enhancement bonus to natural armor, bringing your AC up to 23.
Garvid, sorry to hear about your car trouble :(.
The Wicked GM
Li, it'll be 1 minute of fatigue from exposure, so each round only adds 6 seconds (not additional minutes).
The good news is they can only make so many attacks of opportunity in a round. If everyone flees, some of you will make it unscathed!
The Wicked GM
A minor correction: it was the blue creature that attacked Kynes, not red. Hopefully that clears any confusion.
