Hey GM, please stop trying to murder myelven girlfriendsmoking hot platonic life partner. Thanks! Love, Raquel.
It's not personal: last fight it was Arianna who almost died, and the time before that it was... Raquel, I think? Can't remember that far back. Anyway, the point is, I like to spread the love around.
Heh. Thought you'd appreciate this, Sarah :)
Although for avoidance of doubt, when she says our tabletop group is "deceased" she means we no longer meet rather than, you know, that I killed them all. I'm happy to kill characters - killing the actual players would mean having to do inconvenient things like dispose of the bodies.
@Nariel: Raquel's channel energy has a 30 ft range so it catches you in it. Just as well, since you're (probably?) still invisible.

Aivar Kurisyl |

It could always be worse. He could have been inspired by Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen. Now that's a world/setting I don't want to be a player character in :')
The biggest downside about using GoT as your inspiration is that you might get stuck on the final chapters of the story. Oh yeah, I'm still waiting, Martin.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

That probably sounds really creepy to anyone who doesn't know you work in an animal research lab.
Waiting on Arianna & Sasha.

Tristan Aislin |

I have a friend who works with mice as a researcher, he does some ghastly things to those poor little bastards. Not while they're alive of course, but still.
Just remembered Tristan has vials of Alchemist's Fire he didn't use on the trolls. How dry does the forest around us look, Wastrel? :D

Narièl Laeric |

@Nariel: Just as well, since you're (probably?) still invisible.
I believe she would be based on everything I've read; Invisibility isn't a concentration spell, so the duration of one minute per level will endure whether Nariel is conscious or not.
That said, I realize that Ayluin can help the others find her, as he has a psychic link with Nariel and is reasonably clever enough (8 Intelligence) to point the others to where see collapsed.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

OK Nariel, you're now awake, you're at +13 hitpoints, but prone (also invisible, but it doesn't seem to be much help to you right now).

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Posting seems to have stalled. I'll get us moving again tomorrow.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

No responses to my last gameplay post?

Sasha Yezhov |

Okay, should be all caught up and updated. I missed the level up when I was with family over Thanksgiving.
+1 to all Skills
Rogue's Edge to Diplomacy
+1d6 Sneak Attack
Feat => Extra Rogue Talent
Rogue Talent => Claimed Turf
WW, is Claimed Turf something I could use on our burgeoning hamlet?

Aivar Kurisyl |

I'll try and catch up tomorrow. I had to work over the weekend so we could finish a project today and I am absolutely knackered.

Sasha Yezhov |

I was contemplating Sasha make a comment to Ariana about how reaching the edge of a map shouldn't mean we can't travel further, it's not like we're in a game or something.
But that felt way too meta.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

I've lost internet access for the last couple of days, hoping it will be fixed soon.
Posting from my phone is a complete pain - I'll get things moving as soon as I'm back online.

Raquel Cailean |

I will be out of town from 12/21-12/30. Updates will be sporadic until I return. Please bot me if necessary.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Right, internet is back, I am back, holidays are over, I hope you are all still around...

Narièl Laeric |

Great, welcome back! I'll post later today. I was thinking Raquel, maybe you can cast create water for the horses while they wait? Though I suppose we'll need a water basin to catch it in.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Happy new year to all! Sorry for slowdown - back at work and plowed under. I'll get us back up again at the weekend.
Sasha, thanks for checking in. Arianna/Tristan, if you can let me know you're still out there that would be great :)

Aivar Kurisyl |

Happy new year! I have yet to wake up, but I'm here :D

Arianna Wending |

Still alive, just getting over something I got from my little cousin.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Ugh, my sympathies. Small children are toxic (but adorable). Feel better soon.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

OK, normal service should be resumed. I'll try and keep a decent posting rate.

Narièl Laeric |

Sounds good! Happy New Year everyone.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

I'm willing to accept good roleplay as a successful Aid Another :-)

Narièl Laeric |

Nariel is would be super tempted to start this entreaty, as she loves the fey... that said there are a number of folks with double digit diplomacy that can do a better job I'm sure XD

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Huh. Looks like people have better things to do on a weekend than post in a roleplay game.
Crazy times we live in.

Raquel Cailean |

Give me a little bit and I will get the ball rolling, even if it is just an aid another check

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Hi guys n gals,
If any of you are looking for another game and are rabid Tolkien fans, I am going to run a 5e campaign set in Middle-Earth. There's a sourcebook that you have to buy, but it costs all of one dollar and is available here (and fifteen dollars buys you a bunch of the most amazing sourcebooks you will ever read).
If you're interested, the recruitment thread is here.

Tristan Aislin |

Whoops, forgot to let folks know I'd be gone for an extensive time for the holidays. But I'm back! I'll get caught up post-haste.
And I'm probably too rabid a Tolkien fan to do an RPG in Middle-Earth...

Aivar Kurisyl |

With how haphazard my posting rate is right now, I'm rather hesitant to take any more responsibilities on my Paizo plate right now. Even though I love Middle-Earth. Even though I got a all-three-books-in-one hardcore from the 70s that looks like a Bible. Even though I got a fancy MERP map framed and some (going by Ebay) expensive MERP books and all that :'D

Narièl Laeric |

Ah MERP, I remember playing that once upon a time!

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Fair enough!
Also, apologies on my posting rate - I did some travel with work earlier this week and when I came back I couldn't find my notes. Cue major panic (they're now found)...
I will get us up and moving again this weekend.

Aivar Kurisyl |

After starting with The Hobbit a year earlier, I read the Lord of the Rings books as a kid in eighth grade, which would be the last year of primary school in the Netherlands. During the summer vacation we, that being me and my extended family, went to Corse and my cousin brought along his MERP books. Since I kept bugging him with questions about the books and the game and if I could play with all the excitement you can find in an inspired and obsessed kid, he told me that when I could read the rules, I could join him and his friends someday.
By the end of the summer, I was somehow able to explain the rules to him and he was a fair enough sport to tell me I could join them for a game of D&D someday, hehe. And a couple of months later he made true on his promise and that's how I rolled into this madness.
After all those years, I never did play MERP, but going by what I've read about the system I don't feel like I missed out, haha. Tables. Endless amounts of tables to check and cross-check.

Narièl Laeric |

Yeah, MERP wasn't the greatest system if I'm being honest. In general it was clunky, and didn't lend itself well to the overall spirit and tenor of a middle-earth campaign. If I remember, I played a noldor elf who was related to Fingolfin (the campaign was set in the 2nd age) and was a pretty bad ass warrior.
I suppose I've always like role-playing elves now that I think of it XD

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Damn. Just checked in to see what was holding things up and it's me. I will swear on a pile of gold bars this high* that I posted so I'm not sure what happened, but my apologies to all!
I will get us moving again.
*please send the appropriate no. of gold bars. Thanks in advance.

Narièl Laeric |

Happens to the best of us!

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Gah. We are now back up and running. Normal service will be resumed, I promise - January turned out more busy than I expected.

Narièl Laeric |

I'm down with heading west to L8 as Raquel has suggested.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

Just FYI: the "bridges" on the map are there to indicate where the rivers can be safely crossed - usually. I'll swap them out with something better to avoid confusion.

Wandering GM Wastrel |

@Arianna: Spring and Autumn are rainy. Summer has the occasional thunderstorm, but by the end of August (Arodus), the rivers are as low as they're ever going to get.
Also, where is it you guys are planning to go? Can you give me hex numbers for the route you're planning? Thanks :)
