Can someone explain how using monster races works? do I lose class levels equal to the CR or the HD of the race?

Hmmm, on the one hand saving often is excellent advice...but it seems like a decidedly ungoblinlike strategy. I'd worry something terrible would happen. :0p

On a more serious note, after many lost posts I always use Google docs for composing characters and posts. Not a word lost in months!

Its for the kommandar, and ya, normally i have almost no problems (i save often) but these times i was trying to do it on my phone when i didnt have wifi (so a long time without internet access). Best i got is a 400 character notepad :(
First time i accedently hit the back button, 2nd time my phone died and 3rd time was a genuine piazo snack :(

I was going to comment on the same. You should see Trazzle's formulae book; it has some really nice sketches and schemas.

Although if i went with Pyroclasm, he would jive really well with Petrikov as his eternal opposite and constant rival. He would also jive really well with Thoon as he would be a chaotic mind just ripe for cultivating and eventual harvesting, as well as him having the ragechemist archetype meaning he has that small chance of cracking into a cycle of rage and madness, spiraling downward into pure madness and thoon would love it (tho it would only have about a 1-5% chance of happening). Still, it would be golden rp oppertunities.
Where as The Kommandar would have good synergy with veldon and anyone else going more steampunkish... Dangit!!! I hate being undecided like this!!

Alright, if i am with Petrikov and thoon, i will go Pyro.
If i am not, i will go Kommandar....

I'm having a similar problem.

If I get teamed up with the Thoon or Elemental types or spend time planeswalking, Ythir makes more sense, whereas if I get paired with more "human" allies or with people that want to spend their time on the material plane, Theresa might be a better fit.

Also, I'm curious how much time we're going to be spending as our main personas, with the whole gods and heralds thing going on.

AS FOR HOW LONG YOUR CHARACTERS WILL REMAIN MORTAL, UNTIL LEVEL 20 WHEN YOU REACH THE EVENT WHERE YOU ACHIEVE APOTHEOSIS! THIS IS BECAUSE I WANT EVERYONE TO FEEL THAT THEY ACHIEVED THIS APOTHEOSIS RATHER THAN HAD IT HANDED TO THEM ON A SILVER PLATTER!

As a note, the calculated CR of the final boss sits at around 1,000, so have fun! ^_^ Also, thanks Monkey for referencing Ascension, as I never would have known about such an awesome system! I am trying to break down exactly how the system works so I can more easily relate to people how to incorporate it and help them understand it.

I can help you there RVT, as I have a decent amount of experience with it.

Perhaps we can use this thread as a general discussion for it and both groups. It has the risk of possibly attracting new players occasionally as its still the recruitment thread but it would be nice to have a place for both groups to chat, without needing a brand new thread.

Hey kezra Tern, I would love to be the gobo in your backstory. While either could work, i envision The Kommandar actually jiving quite well. Both of our characters are quite similar in nature, we both vital strike, both quite stealthy (you fly, i dont :P) and I could see us becoming a bit of a duo in the dungeon exploring aspect. Would you be up to us sharing a bit more of a back story? The biggest thing is Im not yet sure why The Kommandar would go exploring? Im still figuring that out :P

I'm excited! Both groups have a good mix of characters.

Since we have a healer and an outsider already (plus this is the only game in which it will ever be possible to play a diabolist noble scion), I'm leaning towards playing Theresa over Ythir.

What do my teammates think?

I'll make the decision tomorrow and hopefully finish the crunch this weekend.

I can't wait to see what craziness our GM has in store for us!

Hey Tark, thanks for writing that up. I was thinking we on Team TSP should talk a bit more each about our characters -- and give links to the latest info for our characters -- so that we can keep the party in mind while finalizing crunch & backstory. We should move that conversation to the Discussion thread when it's created but in the mean time it can start here.

In terms of backstory, would any/all of you have spent some time adventuring/tomb raiding? Kezra's backstory assumes adventuring as part of a party and I'd be happy to have that include any and all of y'all, if you might've been interested. (the Kommander already has a slot, smashing the cosmic mirror-artifact that transformed Kezra).

Kezra's latest crunch and backstory are in my profile. (The crunch has been filled in a bit more but I'm waiting for more review and to ask a few Qs of TSP before finalizing). Tark, at one point I said he'd be a Rogue/Fighter...but eventually switched to Swashbuckler/Bard(Dervish of the Dawn/Cosmos). His mythic path is the Champion. He can frontline like the best of them but he's got more flexibility than your average frontliner. He's also very capable of skirmishing (with 100' perfect flight & flyby attack) and battlefield control (when doing a combat patrol he can attack up to 21 times, assuming that many foes try to move through the 30' radius of his patrol zone...and then he's got his gravity wackiness, like reverse gravity at will in a 20' radius around him). His 49 AC + Crane Wing + Immunity to Missiles should keep him from being hit very often...unless he gets caught flat footed, and his AC drops to 19.

What about y'all? Can you post links to the latest for your character? And any synopsis of what your mythic path will be and what roles you see your character filling?

TSP, when you get the chance, I'd love to have you look Kezra over and let me know if you have any questions, or see anything that's off. To make it easier (a) for me to make sure I've got it right, (b) for me to remember how I came up with a given wacky number, and (c) for DM & others to review, I'm composing in this doc and for many numbers (e.g. BAB, to hit/dam w/ scimitar, etc.) you'll see I've shown my calculations/assumptions in a note that you see if you click on the number. this spreadsheet is where i calculated his ability scores. All are welcome to ask questions/make corrections/suggest other options.

Here is Aren. I put most of the crunch I have done in the profile. There are still things I must Iron out with TSP before finalizing.

Aren is anything but combat focused. Her focus is entirely on healing and she is really strong when it comes to that. All of her healing is empowered and she has mercies to go along with her channel energy. She isn't that big a push over though. She does have some offensive skill but it is generally reserved for protecting her patients and friends. She is loath to use such methods and will try a diplomatic approach first. If she can stop combat before it even starts she is want to do that also.

And though some believe morality is a veil, she strives to show it is not in action and deed. She often gives up material goods and wealth to those in need, no matter what creature may need help. She believes it is the right thing to do.

Her mythic path is that of the Heirophant.

Im all for intergrating mine and Kerzas backstorys together as i can imagine they would be quite the dynamic duo :)

The Kommandar is a ranged assassin, capable of sniping from just about any distance and with just about perfect accuracy. His shots ignore concealment, cover, (ricochet shot), any miss chance (mythic precise shot), most armor (touch attacks) and can even shoot around corners. All for stupid single target damage. It also means that he sucks at taking out crowds ;p
He should be a great sneak and infultrator (working on that part) when not tanked up, or a real durable tank. He also has decent cha and summons and summoners spells.

I would like it if someone could look over his AC, as with a synthesist, that is always complex.
