Post a race. I'll write up a custom archetype for it.

I'd vote more for the soulknife.
If not that then a teifling paladin.

Kasatha Gunslinger? Inquisitor? Brawler? Skald? Hunter? Rogue? Slayer? Warpriest? I'll take whatever you're willing to make. I didn't realize I wanted any of these.

Maybe a little more preference toward Skald, Hunter, or Warpriest.

Any of those would be super cool.

Man. Now I wanna run a campaign with nothing but these archetypes though. You're great.

Scarab Sages

I've already submitted a couple of Elf ideas.

For Humans, how about a Sorcerer Archetype that comes from the "paradigm-shifting next step in evolution" trope?

Svirfneblin idea: A Fighter Archetype that emphasizes various forms of stealthy fighting (without being a Rogue).

Several Android ideas:

A Barbarian Archetype whose Rage represents a malfunction (and maybe waves its arms around and bellows, "DANGER! DANGER!" - or not)

A Brawler Archetype who enjoys blackjack, hookers, and lots and lots of beer

An Alchemist Archetype who, poor misguided thing, wants to become Human

A different Alchemist Archetype who assimilates organic beings

A Druid Archetype who rejects the Romantic "Nature VS. Technology" paradigm, and is dead-set on marrying the two to pave the way for something new

How about an android int based brawler that can copy feats like taskmaster from marvel.

Do you do Psionic classes?

@#$* it, driders are statted out with zero-HD versions in the ARG, and so are centaurs. How about a self-mounted cavalier for those guys?

i think we crushed him in ideas. XD

Aren't locathah playable?

Also, if the hit dice-possessing races are valid, it'd be kinda neat to see something for gnolls and lizardfolk.

I'm not sure. I only listed the playable races I know of. There may be more that I don't know of.

...that makes entirely too much sense.

Anyway, Locathah have racial hit dice.

A dwarf mage hunter would be cool.

no, human fighter.

Something about taking that human bonus feat and extra skill point per level and reassigning them on a daily basis?

Play on those human racial features!

or an arcanist thats about amalgamizing magic and is wisdom based. Sort of a magical multiculturalist.

Elf magus based off the old basic D&D elf class.

Kitsune sorcerer? Something that could mesh with the multiple tail feats perhaps? Foxfire even?

I was thinking of making a bloodrager version, but no one seemed to care. *shrug*

Heck yeah. I would like to see it. Kitsune need more love.

Remember, a lot of those races with eacial HD have zero-HD versions in the ARG. They're not, IIRC, to be found on d20pfsrd, and they're really high race point, but they were printed out, nevertheless.

That would be absolutely badass!

Now I can't stop thinking of ideas for archetypes: I'd love to see a slayer with built in two weapon fighting like flurry of blows.

This is what i came up with, I feel I could have done better, but couldn't think of many original ideas for a more battlefield centered trickery, without doing something mundane like giving bonuses to dirty trick maneuvers or something.

For instance I REALLY want to replace shift form with something, probably something cool that let's them beat through illusions and enchantments.

As Bloodline powers default to not useable when not Bloodraging, I'd specify what powers you have access to outside of bloodrage. Expanded spells seems obvious, but what about the Alter Self? From the duration, I assume so.

I KNEW I forgot something special about bloodrage bloodlines. *smacks head*

edit: actually it does not appear that I do, as only I see mention of abilities that happen upon entering blood rage, or instantaneous effects such as growing claws. basically i see more mention of when something can only be done during a bloodrage and not outside of it, except all level 20 powers say this.

regardless, I replaced shape shift, and I enjoy how it changes the class and what it can do.

edit edit: I found the clause on the bloodline area, that is funny considering EVERYTHING says "while bloodraging" or some such other thing.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Yeah, I'm not actually familiar with any bloodline powers usable outside of bloodrage off the top of my head, but most go further and say when bloodraging.

Fey bloodline has a couple.

Well, guys, I'm back!

And so is the HARDENED INTERROGATOR, a hard-boiled Oread detective that will stop at nothing to have justice delivered... or at least get a confession.

Perfect for your True Detective campaigns.

I'm deciding which one I will do next but I have many ideas floating around.

Halfling Brawler with dirty tricks and low blow tactics :P

In Dodge the Question you have: "Intelligence modifier instead of her Intelligence modifier to Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate checks." Yu might want to edit that.

Secret Wizard wrote:

I love it! Perhaps the Dodge the Question ability should be renamed Stonefaced, though? lol

I was thinking maybe a Gathlain using the Wilder psionic class for "nature psychic" power.

@Cthulhudrew: The initial version only had rock puns for ability names, like that or Rock Facts or Between a Rock and a Hard Place.

...The archetype would prooobably have to remove the lawful-only alignment restriction though.

These are my projects while I finish nailing out the Syrinx Alchemist requested quite a few pages ago (I had to scrap the Skinwalker archetype, it ended up being too similar to a Druid archetype, trying to find another angle...)

So, for the following, I'd like to work with you guys if you don't mind!

SULI BLASTER - I have written this archetype TWO TIMES, and scrapped them altogether. The first one was a weird Hadouken-based Arcanist, the next one an Arcanist that could add special effects to Metamagic feats... both felt off. The first had weird interactions between the Hadoukens and the spells, the second one just felt like the same old Admixture blaster but with better metamagic toys. I have one last idea but it involves replacing most of the exploits, if not all, for static abilities. Would that be interesting or would it stifle creativity too much?

DROW WARPRIESTESS - Two questions: gender restriction or not? There's tons of flavor in making one, but I wouldn't want to be so restrictive. Second question: DRIDER OR NOT? It's always an angle, but is the market saturated with it?

SYLPH WITCH - This is already planned out, but any things in particular that inspire this pairing?

MONKEY GOBLIN MONK - I made this thread hoping someone would say Monkey Goblin. I'm thinking about making them monks with no ki, to represent lack of lawfulness. Is the ki-less monk too unappealing now that we have brawlers?

That's about it. Any input appreciated! Will post one of these tomorrow, unless I get a stroke of genius and come up with a good set of abilities to finish the Syrinx.

How about a Halfling archetype that's a master of using the Halfing Sling Staff? It could be a fighter, rogue, slayer, ranger, whatever would fit best. The important part is that it's an expert at using the Halfling racial weapon.

Ventnor wrote:

Already been asked! It's gonna be a Gunslinger, but I wanna do these four first.

On the Drow at least: No Drider. Saturation is indeed in play, I think.

Also no gender restriction. At most, perhaps in a few instances different-but-equal options for males and females? But full gender restrictions feel like they force too much onto a character to me.

Replacing exploits doesn't ever feel good to me as you can't pick up the feat to get more. But if the ability is worth it, then it's not that bad. Go for it.

Hadouken!

As I threw down the Drow warpriestess idea, for how the culture works, yes it should be gender restricted to females, but no drider, I'm sure something could be worked for them later.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

I think a Drow warpriest should definitely be Female considering their races culture. It just doesn't make much sense for a male. :/

A Drow male can become a Warpriest. However, a Drow female may become exceptional among the order.

I have high hopes for this.

Well, the Drow Cleric archetype doesn't specify female or male... Soooooo... I see no reason to do so here, really.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm of the opinion that restrictions and prerequisites are for prestige classes, not base classes and archetypes. If you can explain a male drow warpriest, you should be able to play one.

I kind of pictured her as more of a Fey-touched than a patron-oriented witch. Maybe with a penchant for stealing the breath/voices of her foes.

I'm really excited to see what you've got in mind!

Being able to weave said stolen breath/voices into items would be really cool too, a la Berengiere from Exalted.

Hadouken!

Perhaps leave one early exploit (level 1 or 3), then start replacing things? Level 3 seems like the sweet spot to leave, all things considered. But this solves the "can't take Extra Exploit" issue while still balancing things out.

That is an extremely cool power. I have to see how I finish this archetype up, but it's basically about taking and giving stuff so this fits perfectly... "spirited away" is the theme.
