Any high level option for Reflection Heritage?
Like, getting more than one Heritage or some sort of parma fly speed...
Highest level option is a lvl 17 feat called Reflect Foe, letting you create a copy of a foe via a mirror or nearby reflection. Mechanically functions as an Innate Duplicate Foe spell which heightens to an 8th level spell at 20.

Does anyone know if we should expect any delays for international shipping?
Street date is in a week and my subscription copy hasn’t been shipped yet. Given that it normally takes around 10 days to get to me, looks like mind will arrive after actual release.
I’m continental US and haven’t had anything ship yet. I feel your pain. Though I imagine they’re overwhelmed with shipping at the moment.

Ouch! I thought it would have just been an international thing. Street release is on Wednesday, fingers crossed ours ship before then!

They just posted a "today isn't going to be the last day of shipping after all" over in the subs thread. They didn't give any estimate of when they will be finished, just "asap". :-(
I will be surprised if I get my pdfs before street date.

Yet another reason why all subscribers should get PDF access on the first day of shipping, rather than when their order goes in a box!
Equal access to product for all subscribers, regardless of the logistics of physical books.

I asked their CS a few days ago if there was an issue and if I should revise my expected arrival date, as I get thinks shipped to a PO box, and didn’t hear anything back.
Would be nice if there were some form of update emailed out for known shipping delays/issues.

Giving the free pdf to everyone with a sub that far ahead on the same day before they’ve been shipped/charged has numerous holes in it, it would ruin whatever relationships they have with brick and mortar stores since subs become a guaranteed way to get the PDFs early. Then it runs into the issue of people canceling their order before they’ve shipped or charged, way too many headaches there.
And then there’s the question of if their systems could handle doing such a rollout all at once like that.

I suppose from our view as individual retail customers of Paizo most of us don't care about anything else, but Paizo has to consider the impact of every decision regarding individual subscribers on the rest of their business — the FLGS, distributors, whatever else may be.

I’ve seen people say this, but as far as I’m aware, I’ve never seen any sort of comment or statement from Paizo that this is the case. I’m not denying it’s a factor, I’ve just never seen a comment from an actual source of it.
There is obviously room for this possibly here, as people can and are getting early access to products. It’s seems unusual that it’s permissible in some cases but not all. One would imagine if it was a legitimate legal issue, then it wouldn’t be something Paizo would make themselves liable to for no real benefit to themselves.
That said, If it can’t be early, it should still be at the same time. Even if that means street date. Just remove the ambiguous access.

It seems to me that the simplest way to do this would be to let subscribers who haven't gotten their pdfs by the release date buy the pdf online and then for the Paizo computers to automatically reimburse them when their order comes through and they would be eligible for their free pdf.
That way no one could cheat the system by cancelling their subscription after receiving their free pdf but before their physical books have been sent.
But that would probably require software that was written in this century.

Only because you’re making It more mysterious and unknown than it is and leaving out the very obvious explanation for how this works.
Subscribers get their PDFs when their orders are shipped and cards charged. It’s that simple, not some eldritch formula.

I actually think you are the one being obtuse here.
Why does being shipped and charged matter as opposed to just being charged, when it comes to what upsets their brick and mortar partners? What actually is the source of your information and why does it apply to Paizo and not other companies which have same-day digital fulfilment for their physical products?
This isn’t hard. You charge people on the first day of shipping, release the PDF’s, any change to your subscription between charge date and actual shipping is handled as a return. Same way countless other companies do it.

Because they can't finalize the charge until the order has shipped. Source: Paizo.
Since no one has been able to explain to me why, I did some digging.
In the US there are no laws which prevent or prohibit the taking of payment prior to shipping. The only caveats being that orders must be shipped within the arranged time period at pop or within 30 days.
There are however provisions laid out by some credit card processors which mean they won't allow payment processing prior to shipping for business customers of certain sizes/reps. Clearly Paizo are in such a state with their processor.
The e-com landscape has changed dramamtically since 2012, when Paizo set their current system in place. Clearly its not enough of a pain point currently for them to change it, but its far from the intractable problem you guys are making it out to be.
(As a side note, the more I look into, US e-commerce is strangely antiquated compared to the EU and most of Asia)

The only people making it intractable is Paizo. Thank you for admitting your mistake however.
Well yeah, that's my point.
Some people are making it seem like Paizo can't, when the real anwser is they haven't.
There are clearly barriers to over come, but as a customer, I am saying to Paizo that it needs to change or else they risk losing my business. As their system continues to age, at some point the pain of changing their current system will be outweighed by the pain of customer loss.

I suppose they could just charge subscribers the combined price of their PDFs when they make the PDFs available, then charge them the difference (Physical products + shipping - PDFs) when the physical products ship. Then they could easily handle cancellation of orders between PDF release and actual shipment with no issues other than the reaction of retailers.

Gisher |

And run the risk of post-release-day-shipment subscribers cancelling their orders after they've received their PDFs? Unlikely.
That's why I suggested the alternative method above.
-----
Made up example:
In April I subscribe to get a $50 book that is coming out on May 3rd. As part of the purchase, I will also get a free pdf of the book when my order ships instead of having to pay the $20 it would normally cost.
May 3rd arrives and my book still hasn't shipped so I purchase and download the pdf online for $20 because I just can't wait. (That's likely a primary reason that I subscribed.)
At this point, if I cancel my subscription Paizo won't lose money by having given me a free pdf.
On May 5th my order ships and the Paizo system goes to charge me $50 for it and provide me with my free pdf. But the computer sees that I already paid for the pdf which is supposed to be free with my order. So it either charges me $50 for the package and refunds my $20 for the pdf, or it treats the $20 as a down payment on the purchase and simply charges me the remaining $30.
This way no subscriber has to wait until after the release date or pay extra to get the pdf on time, and Paizo doesn't have to worry about people tricking them out of free pdfs.

I don't think I have read a single thing about Dark Archive in the last 20 or so posts here in the Dark Archive product thread. Can those of you interested in the subscription discussion please take it elsewhere, please? Thank you.

Paizo's handling of a product, its distribution, and potentially anticonsumer business practices involved therein seems exceptionally relevant to a product discussion thread.
I have found the information brought to light by this conversation to be very enlightening.
If there is something else about the product you wish to discuss, you could try simply doing that.

All of that is off-topic for this thread.

This looks fun! Reminds me of my 3.5 dwarf transmuter who took excessive delight in trying to transform into his enemies before battle. It didn’t work out as a build, but it was fun to play.
Getting hyped to buy my pdf later this week!

My special edition subscription finally shipped today, about 2 hours ago.
Boy am glad I got the subscription and paid extra for the special edition to get access less than 12 hours early.
In other news: this book is freakin' awesome and I'm really hype about the current game design. I'm really looking forward to the treasure vault and future books.

This thread derailed a bit. A product thread is not the place for discussion of Paizo's procedures and policies. Please keep all conversation relevant to the topic on hand.
It’s hard to find a place where it is considered an appropriate item of discussion.
Perhaps there should be some form of dialogue opened up around the whole topic. Or at least some additional transparency.
I’ve worked with several businesses that would love this level of engaged response from their customer base.

So, it seems that:
a) Paizo has implemented code that adds VAT on purchases from EU, because my PDF got a slight bump in price
b) Whatever they did broke the store for EUropeans, because you can buy the Dark Archive PDF no problemo if you use an American address, but it borks up if you use a EU one
So here I am, a temporary resident of Springfield, Oregon - moved in just today, where are the best burgers in town? :)

Customers of several businesses would love the level of engaged response from a company where management comes down on a forum to talk to little people and explain things.
I'd hazard a guess that most businesses don't bow down that far.

A forum post wouldn't be a suitable venue. It's also too niche. There would need to be a better format decided.
They just need a new strategy.
Also, customers should never been considered "little people".

What better format? Forums/Discord/Reddit/Twitch/social media is how you interact with customers. Paizo is doing all that, and frankly at a rate and scale that's way ahead of industry heavyweights (say, WotC).
