Well done

5/5

Good content for a fair price.

5/5

The maps are beautiful, all of the tokens, artwork, and placements are great. Definitely a good way to see how premium modules sets up their scenes so you can learn how to make cool maps yourself.

Well organized and beautiful introduction to PF2e

5/5

This implementation of the beginner box has been amazing and has sold me on Foundry modules as the way to play Pathfinder 2e. I look forward to getting future APs on Foundry. This module has saved me hours of work which would have had to otherwise come out of my limited free time after work.

Hi! What is the discount if I own Beginner Box PDF? (now it shows me $5 discount) Thanks!

I own the Beginner Box PDF, but have no discount.

Already picking it up :D

Silver Crusade

The discount for owning the pdf does seem broken at least if you just watch it on the site.

Very, amazing module. I purchased and went through it today. It is done very well and also has tips for use of FoundryVTT and how it interacts with PF2. Am definitely looking forward to more releases from the Paizo team on it.

Fantastic job with this module. Worth every penny.

Could it be related to getting it from a Humble Bundle code? I don't see the discount. Never bought the PDF/Box from Paizo, but did get it in a Humble Bundle deal.

It shows up as costing $10 for me

Hey folks,

We're glad to see such an enthusiastic response to the Beginner Box for Foundry VTT! Unfortunately we're having some issues with the discounts not applying properly for those who already have the Beginner Box PDF. We're working on a solution to this, but we won't be able to consult our full cadre of experts until Monday. We'll be working on getting the discounts fixed going forward, and addressing those folks who already purchased the download without their due discount.

Thanks again for your enthusiasm and your patience. We'll be sure to post updates as we have them. Have a great weekend!

Absolutely smashing, now we need more

I am really excited about this. I purchased the physical beginner box, but just haven't had luck finding local players who are interested.

So being able to play online will definitely broaden my ability to hook up with other players.

Now to find other online players who will accept an older player (52) without any P2e experience (but d&d experience). The last two groups I tried to join, said I was too old and wouldn't fit in with their playstyle. :(

Hi Crowleysix,

I'm a bit short on time but I help lead the organized plan online community. You're more than welcome to join us regardless of your age. :) We're on discord at Organized Play Online (link). That server acts as a central hub for online organized play (which included PF2e!) and it also points to some smaller communities like Cayden's Keg (link) which is a really fun and welcoming group that love playing games.

Please come join us at one (or both!) discord servers. If you have any questions please feel free to send me a private message. I'll try to check back here but I may forget.

So, if I already own the PDFs how can I get a discount?

Once the whole team is back in the office next week, we hope to have the bug causing the discount not to apply correctly fixed very quickly, but as with any tech bug, the exact timing is hard to pin down right now. So just hang tight and watch this thread, and we'll make sure to let everyone know when it's working correctly.

Just bought. Worked perfectly for me. Applied all discounts and went smoothly.

I have some feedback about the message at the checkout window after you purchase. This is what's displayed:

Pathfinder Beginner Box (Foundry VTT) [Foundry Download]

Clicking on the [Foundry Download] button brings you to this store page. I'm not sure why.

Currently, as someone who owns Foundry VTT and is familiar with it, I know what to do once I get the activation code.

It would really help the new user experience to see some info like below.

<draft message>

If you're new to Foundry VTT, you will have to download the software here. <link takes you to FVTT download page>

Once you do this, you can use the Beginner Box activation code from your Digital Downloads page to install the module and jump into the adventure with your friends! For instructions on how to do this, please click here. <link takes you to the FVTT page for the Beginner Box>

So, what is the actual price meant to be with the discount? I have the pdf from Paizo and this cost me $10.

Is that the discounted price?

thank you for the link. I am going through the discord chat now to look around.

Where do I access the PDF? Under the 'My Downloads' page there's just an item with the FoundryVTT serial key, but there's no link or item for the PDF download.

Same issue here, no PDF link yet. Does it just take a bit?

The discount to $10 seems to be working IF you are not sign-in. Once you try to checkout and sign-in using your account, the price jumps back to $24.99.

Strange, it would seems that the pricing logic is wrong at this moment.

Can this be used with Forge? If so, how do you redeem it?

Thank you!

Paizo if you're using this as a promotional effort to get new users onto Foundry, keep in mind that every post about Foundry in this forum has essentially been: "You have to be a serious techie to make this work, but if you have those chops, it's terrific."

Try writing the instructions as if brave, but non-technical PF2 folks might be willing to take a chance for $10, but might not actually know what they're doing.

I think Foundry did what you are asking for. See the installation section of their Beginner Box Module page. It doesn’t have pictures but it does say exactly what to do with links to the place you need to do them: https://foundryvtt.com/packages/pf2e-beginner-box

JamesMaster wrote:

Yep, in fact I just installed it. Once you redeem the serial key in your Foundry account page. Just go to forge - it might take a few minutes to update with your account details - and just install it in the Bazaar.

Yes, PDF is missing.

I own the PDF and the Beginner Box IRL, but I only see a $5 discount to $25, while everybody else sees $10. Is there something broken with the website and when will they fix it?

Wanting to GM a game on a VTT has been very daunting. When I browse each VTT discord I get a lot of "put this code in here" or "create this macro" which is way over my head.

This Beginner Box Foundry bundle has been an excellent way for me to learn how to use the system. There were still some technical hurdles I had to ask about in the forums to get started. Once I got started, it has been a great experience.

I had a look last night. I've purchased quite a few systems on Foundry now (and on Roll20 before that...) and this is by far the best VTT implementation I've seen. It sets the bar extremely high. I can't wait to dig in deeper. Thanks for all the hard work from everyone involved, it shows.

Others (including me) are having this problem too. Apparently it's being fixed when people get back to the office on Monday.

I could not find it in the Forge Bazaar, but I was able to install it via the Manifest URL linked at the bottom for the Foundry product page: https://foundryvtt.com/packages/pf2e-beginner-box

For anyone looking for details on how to install the beginners box premium content I made a tutorial: https://youtu.be/rYLiC8ftbOk

I’ll apologize in advance because I’m not the best video ever - so judge the content over the video quality please :)

This was actually answered in the "unboxing" stream with TMun and Cora (head PF2e system developer for Foundry and a lead developer for this implementation for the Foundry system) and the $25 is a promotional price for everyone across the board in accordance with Beginner's Box Day (I believe will be until 4/25) and the discount for those who own the PDF should bring it to $10, and then $15 once the promotion is over.

I did not own the pdf and bought this. I redeemed it on Foundry but on Paizo, I cannot find the pdf sold with it.
I see it is already reported above but wanted to mention it is still an issue today.

In any case, this sets the bar very high in term of quality content for VTT! A real good job, everything is sparkling and incredible for an out-of-the-(beginner)box experience. Thank you for the hard work put into this, I hope we can expect the same quality for upcoming contents, it is well worth the price!

Well worth the price. The quality of the module is great, the little touches to make it more user friendly and better intergrated for Foundry usage are superb. The moduel does a very good job of guiding the DM by providing information that teaches them how to run the game without resorting to dumbing down the rules, a problem a lot of begginer sets from other systems have.
I can also see it being a good way for new Foundry users to get to grips with how it all works, as the beginner box has been updated to include Foundry tutorial tips and information. (That's a step above and beyond imho)

Honestly, Foundry should have this advertised on the front page of their website. Unfortunately, their PR game is terrible, and it is difficult to even find the module on their site. If I didn't have an interest in Pathfinder 2e already, I doubt I would know this was even released. That's a crying shame.

I'll be running this for my 5e group in a couple of weeks, once they have dealt with a pirate king in their current campaign! We plan to switch to 2e once we've wrapped up our current campaign in a couple months.

The only real complaints I could make is that it isn't well suited to larger groups, and the purchase and activation is a little convoluted[it would be nice if I could just buy it through Forge/Foundry and have it activated on my account automatically].
As for the group size, it would be cool to include an extra two iconics to accomodate more players, alchemist and ranger seem popular. I supposed you'd also need to add options to scale it for bigger groups too.

Very pleased with the product. I already had high hopes for it after seeing the trailer, and I was not disappointed. In fact, my expectations were exceeded in every way!

Great work to all those involved in making this happen.

Still stuck without the discount ? It's Monday, I can't wait :D

Yes you can. You have to activate it via your Foundry account. Forge carries your Foundry license. It should detect that you have it and allow you to download the module option (instead of having a Purchase link) inside the Bazaar.

The iconics are part of base PF2E system. You should have no trouble importing them from the compendium named 'Iconics' and giving them to one of your players. You may want to adjust the encounters by adding 1-2 NPCs if you want to keep the difficulty the same.

Guess my brain was in slowpoke mode. Thanks for the info, there are so many compendiums in the Foundry module it is a little overwhelming tbh.

My year plus 5e game doesn't even come close XD
