How many temples of gods outside of the core 20 are mentioned in the book?

I count about 8.

Has this been delayed again? I thought I’d seen a December release date and I’m starting an Edgewatch game. I came to pick up the PDF and found it back to preorder…

PDF was moved back to preorder because there was a glitch that allowed it to be purchased on Black Friday. As of the December shipping thread, this one is still on target.

If I preorder the book now, is the date in the description for when it expects to ship from the warehouse or when it will arrive to your address?

Dec 22nd is the street date and should be when things are shipped out to non-subscribers.

The gods that have temples or temple-like places are the following (taken from the so-called temple index):

Abadar, Apsu, Aroden, Asmodeus, Besmara, Brigh Calistria, Cayden Cailean, Desna, Erastil, Gorum, Gozreh, Hei-Feng, Irori, Lamashtu, The Muted God, Nethys, Norgorber, Pharasma, Rovagug, Sarenrae, Shelyn, Sivanah, Torag, Urgathoa, Zon-Kuthon.

PS: I got the book last Friday due to the glitch. Feel free to delete this message if these sort of spoilers aren't allowed.

Wait so people actually did get pdfs in advance because of the sale glitch? x'D

Man I know customer service wouldn't like that, but now I'm kinda sad I wasn't aware of that before it got fixed

Who is the 8th?

That's how all the Chelaxian wanted posters depict pirates. The "evil" part isn't supposed to be half so insulting as the chaotic bit, so as far as they're concerned, we're focusing on the wrong thing here. Side note, Chelaxians are all about alignment debates like their souls depend on it.

Just a quick FYI for the team, not sure if this is the right place to post this:

The pdf seems to have an issue with the font for some paragraph titles, where the dash is replaced by the letter K. For example on p. 15ff.

NB the same issue affects the pdf for Monsters of Myth that has been simultaneously released.

I haven't gotten a hold of a printed issue yet, so I cannot say if this is also the case for those.

Is there a digital (pdf) version of the Pathfinder Lost Omens: Absalom, City of Lost Omens? I usually see the hard copy price along with the digital price, but I don't in this case or in Monsters of Myth.

Appreciate the help.

I think Aaron Shanks is suggesting this will occur on the 22nd of Dec. Am I reading the threads correctly?

There was a PDF issue for the exports of both Absalom and LO:MoM (which have not officially released yet) where the dashes in headers got changed to Ks. This is a PDF-only issue and we checked our in-office copies of the physical books, which do not have it. Art is in the process of updating the store PDFs so it'll all be handled shortly. TLDR this isn't like the LO Ancestry Guide "uncomon" error--if you ordered the book you're fine, if you got the PDF you will shortly be able to re-download an updated one, probably before your physical book even arrives.

Actually I think what happened is that we had a sidebar with ships known to frequent the harbor, a few of whom had named captains. In the course of expanding that material, we added backstories to the named captains, and I brainfarted and didn’t make the connection to the Pathfinder Tales character, because I am dumb.

^_^; Welp something for lore errata in next reprint, guess a change of name for "Torius Vin" and the "Stargazer", that would be easier than rewriting entire paragraph at least

Statblocks? Nah only 3 of those, for azarketi generic bestiary types at end of azarketi article. The NPC glossary is LOOOOOOOOOOONG as it contains pretty much every named npc in the city ever, but its not about statblocks

I'm still reading through it, but so far I LOVE it. It tells me exactly what it's like to be from Absalom, which is exactly what I wanted.

Some corrections:

As mentioned above, the temple of Iomedae and a few shrines and possibly more stuff are missing from the Temple Index.

The illustration of Lord Gyr in the NPC Glossary is extremely low resolution.

In the tallest buildings sidebar, the Arcanamirium is placed in the Petal District (should read Wise Quarter)

And a very important question:

Is there a reason the cornucopia stuff from 1e Guide to Absalom was removed?

The map is now included in the new version of the download... but it has a very low resolution. As soon as you zoom in a bit, the roads and buildings become all blurry.

As it is, I find that it is unusable unless you just want a very broad overview of the whole city, so you lose all the possible benefits from having such a detailed map.

Is it possible to get a higher resolution please?

Yes. We all thought it was dumb, and it got wrapped up in a PFS plot line a couple years ago.

Pretty sure it was in one of the final 1e PFS convention interactive specials. It wasn't the focus of the plotline, just a part of it.

Come to think about it, I've heard that multiple times, but never heard WHY paizo thinks it was dumb :O

This is good reason to ask why xD So yeah why do you think infinite food relic was dumb? Like is it because it would have far reaching consequences outside its intended purpose like "why would we ever trade or farm food" or such?

After having just read what those things were about, I'm glad they're gone.

Was there aspect of them that I'm forgetting that would make it self evident what was dumb about them? :'D

(I'm seriously, I hear multiple people ask about them but I've never really learned what was the dumb part or really what they were about besides siege food. )

I strongly suspect that everyone has a different answer to this question. For me, a big part of it is that Aroden is dead, and most of the lingering magics fueled by his divine energy should be either dormant or fizzling out by now (I mean, this is what happened to re-open the Worldwound, for example).

So when you add to that the fact that the idea always struck me as kind of corny for economic and "maybe too high magic" reasons, it was a pretty easy thing for me to agree with when the PFS team decided they wanted to move away from it.

Although obviously important to the city's history, the items also had a relatively brief write-up in the original books and never really played into anything else we had done with the city, so we decided to move on from it.

Other developers likely have other answers to this question, but that's mine.

I'm going off memory and on my way to a meeting, operating on my increasingly failing memory rather than notes, but I think the aspect of "kill someone and take their Cornucopia and now you're on the High Council as a city leader" was probably not overwhelmingly popular among the folks involved in this decision.
