Dorm Room

narrator wrote:
"Yes, yes," it nodded eagerly, proving it by picking up the large bag. "Thank you, lady. I give message to Mistress. She in hurry though. Probably diplomacy too slow.," it added before vanishing again.

Considering the spot where the creature just moments before had stood, along with the coffee gift she'd provided, a myriad of thoughts swirled through Anahita's mind as she looked this way and that, then for a good while the other half of the room now decorated and befitting of someone else.

She let out a slight sign at the summation of her thoughts and feelings, then closed her eyes as if to sleep.

With a slight step and twirl, she vanished, moving with thought, elsewhere.

"You sure you don't have? A button? A ribbon? An earring? Some belly button lint? Anything be fine," the creature asked anxiously.

Anahita thought for a moment and then replies, "I am not willing to part with anything that might be trackable, back to me, Aschen, without more details or some measure of interaction with your Mistress to discuss this further. Considering the potential relationship that giving you an object of mine, enfused with any measure of psychometry or self into it, purely speaking in magical terms, is unwise without knowing such. More importantly too, I do not have anything which is mine, which I am willing to ...lend, to you, or someone I do not know in any fashion beyond a title given by an apparent servant. I'm certain this will not bode well for building of trust, but, the gesture must be made first, and clearly-- you have shown a measure of that, not having merely taken something potentially owned by by me." She half motions around the room to further indicate her point.

"I hope this makes sense, and carries with it the neutral tone of diplomacy intended. If your Mistress is in distress, and she requires aid, then convey her a message that I may be willing to assist, were she to explain the reason for my specific aid, and why I was selected. My paranoia prevents me from simply ... giving, without having met her or knowing more."

She did peer at the coffee bag, though, then back to the Aschen. "Will you be able to carry that with you?"

The little demon relaxed. "Trade good as long as no contract," it confirmed. "Dunno about list. Is a list of names. We have to borrow things from all people on list. Little things okay. Don't know why. Didn't ask. Leader for today handed out names, gave one to one. Only have your name. Don't know others. Leader knows. Mistress knows too of course. Know there are a few at Avalon though. Leader made sure we would be careful not to cross paths. Too many aschen in one place bad. Mistress forbids except on her orders. No repeats of Akhenaten."

"Coffee good either way. This one likes to munch on beans. Leader say that uncivilized, much fight over how to prepare the precious coffee. Leader says should brew strong into essspresssoooooo." It shrugged. "Is good that way too, but more work."

Nodding as the creature explained further, Anahita says, "It is a particular topic, I've come to understand, amoung my native people, creation of the coffee in various forms. You are a visitor to my ...residence," she motions to the room and the tent/sand, "as such, I should provide you with the appropriate hostly duties. I propose-- as you said you have things to do quickly, though it appears I cannot assist with an item at this time, you may have to leave, or not, but I would dearly like to learn more of what you have shared so far. I leave the option open to you; stay and allow me to prepare some of these beans, or perhaps even provide you with variations of coffee for your consumption, so we can come to enjoy the ritual of entering one's home, as I attempt to replicate it. I rarely have done this, so you'll forgive me if I stumble in the process."

She smiled though, relishing the conversation with this creature.

It wiped off its mouth and gave her a sad look when she suggested a relationship.

"Can't make contract with you. Mistress added clause to contract to prevent it. Accepted short term contract from Headmaster and it nearly got Mistress's friends destroyed. Mistress was not amused. Did add at least two centuries to contract with Mistress," it added proudly. "Got to misbehave sometimes so we can keep the contract forever and ever. Need Mistress. Is bad when aschen are all alone. Now is better. Mistress tells us what to do. Sometimes when she in very good mood she let us smite her enemies. Those good days," it added happily. "Smiting fun."
"Can tell you about list. Is simple. Mistress has list. She gives list to aschen, says borrow small things from as many of these as you can." It shrugged. "Simple task. Mistress not say why, I not ask."

Considering what the thing just said, Anahita nods and then says, "Very well, no ...contract, which is fine. Though, if you are ever in need of coffee, please find me and we can conduct quick dealings, as needed, fair? You can see I am someone that keeps their offer. Thank you for explaining that your Mistress has a list. You'd said as much earlier, Aschen. Do you know what this list is of, or can you tell me who's on it? I am willing to provide more of this," she gestures, "for that."

She shifted the bag of coffee for a moment, then glanced at the aschen. "Do you brew this, or just eat the beans cooked? Oddly enough, she seems equally curious. Perhaps easily distracted by the moment.

The aschen's eyes got big and it was visibly drooling. "Cooooooffeeeeeeeee," it moaned.

"Am aschen. Don't need other name," it managed to splutter through the drool.

A faint smile touches on Anahita's earlier mixture of features at the manner of the aschen's reactions.

"I apologize for my earlier manner, Aschen. You startled me in what I deemed a private place. If you wish to double the amount of coffee I am providing you, or perhaps even enter into a relationship where I can continue to provide you with more-- fresh and delicious from all manner of locations, please tell me of this list? Are you a servant, or something more intimately linked -- a familiar, perhaps, of this Principle Blackscales?"

Applying her considerable empathy and diplomatic skills, towards the being, Anahita seeks to learn more about this 'list'.

She gives the room another look over, just in case, then thoughtfully for a moment considers the situation before glancing back at the aschen once more and it's drooling manner.

She doesn't appear bothered by it's secretions.

The creature tilted its head and considered. There was nothing that it was being asked that went against Mistress's orders. And coffee. It nodded eagerly.

"Mistress told me to borrow small things from all on list. You on list. Need to borrow small item. Bring back later. Is what borrow means. Apparently," it added with a grudging eyeroll. It wasn't like anyone had been using that coffeemaker....
"Mistress is called Ephebe Blackscales. She run school for smaller ones. Don't know why. Mistress is inscootabubble....hard to understand."

Losing some of the other emotions, with a glance to the doorway and the window briefly, Anahita's expression turns to thoughtful introspection, or similar.

"The Principal of the younger children, I presume from your words. I see. I have nothing I can spare, that will fulfill your Mistress' wishes. Though ..." she glanced around, "assuming you wish some sort-- wait, list? What list? Why am I on a list? Wait here a moment, I shall return momentarily."

That said, she 'steps' to the side, and vanishes leaving behind her, in the sand, small ladybug sized creatures, and a dried desert twig, or the like.

It's merely a few seconds later, and she returns, carrying a large sack, easily forty pounds or eighty kilos, with stamped letters and a strong smell of coffee in one arm. She puts it down near her feet. "... as stated."

"Perhaps, being-- er.. my apologies. I am called Anahita, do you have a name to speak with you properly?" Apparently now that emotions were calmer, and intrusions explained, she seemed less defensive. It probably didn't hurt that the emotional Lily had flown the coop, so to speak.

With Lily's departure, there's a mixture of disappointment twinged with annoyance now, smothered by the dose of curiosity towards the aschen.

One might reflect on the impressive non-verbal expression this Keleshite is capable of, face alone speaking such volumes. Perhaps theater would be a better place for her, versus stranger in a strange school.

Female Human Teenager

narrator wrote:

The creature scampers around the room. "Must borrow! Mistress said! Coffee on the line!" it complained.

Does she have any loose possessions on her side of the room?

No, she's quite the nomad, and 'neat' -- nothing loose, save her clothing, in a fashion sense.

Anahita frowns when hearing the term 'Mistress', though raises her eyebrows slightly at the term 'coffee'-- curiosity ultimately mingles into the otherwise paranoid laced swarthy gaze she gives the creature.

"If you work for coffee, being, then I will offer you such in exchange for explaining what your purpose and Mistress is." This might not be a natural creature as far as she knew, but it did appear to have some intelligence. Diplomacy would be attempted.

A small, wizened looking creature with oily black skin and a wide toothy grin appears in front of Anahita. "Borrow?" it asks, in as close to an endearing manner as it had managed to cultivate during all its time spent begging for coffee.

Anahita takes a step back, clearly defensive as this toothy, devil-kin manifests suddenly in her private quarters, especially behind locked door(s).

Eyeing the creature with her stern gaze, the intensity giving even the lowest of empathy checks an automatic success, her verbal response further ends any suspicions or hope, "I do not know you, being, nor understand your request-- you are not invited, nor welcome. Begone, immediately."

Clearly, she holds no 'love' for this, or the manner of the meeting.

Her voice can most likely be heard through the doorway, and she spares only the briefest of glances at the fellow occupant, who had just earlier been scrambling for the window out.

Not letting some devil looking imp thing touch me! Or get near!

Lily, being one to be somewhat self-centered and unperceptive to boot, has indeed not noticed Anahita's arrival. Currently, she appears to be panicking and fumbling with her window lock, clearly intent on flinging the window open, but beyond that who can say?

Anahita may note her colour of Lily's hair as well as the heat in the room, and might make the conclusion that she is a Firebird.

The conclusion is instantly made, or assumed, and then Anahita glances towards the door leading to the hallway out.

"Be calmed, miss-- I shall tend to guest." Her voice carries an odd weight to it, or charisma, that is felt by anyone that relates to fire or flame, though does not actually do much more. Whispers to keep heard only by Lily within the room.

Lucas Svarog wrote:
"Lilly? I can hear you in there... It's just me, your brother, I have food... If you don't answer I'm going to let myself in..."

Speaking aloud, while Lucas can hear the door audibly locking, Anahita replies, "There is no one in this room that wishes a guest at this time-- and I can assure you as one of the residents, your presence is not currently wanted by myself. Could you please return at a later date?" She speaks while moving and suddenly is at the door, so's to prevent it being opened while it seals according to her wishes.

She keeps an eye on Lily as well, imposing herself against the door with a furrowed brow.

Panic immediately seizes Lily, overriding the other emotions ripping through her. On the other side of the door Lucas can hear panicked, almost desperate movement in the room beyond, but no verbal response beyond that.

Depending on how perceptive Lily is, she may or may not notice the arrival of Anahita in the desert section of the room-- utterly silent, though visual in the faintest way. It's as before in other teleports by the Kelishian, as if she 'stepped' into the location.

With a pause, however, Anahita peers over towards the other portion of the quarters and studies the panicked movement of her ...fellow quarters resident with the gaze of someone watching a marmot dancing around chasing their tail from afar.

She certainly isn't trying to be stealthy, though habit and years of living apart from civilized beings may make her easily over looked-- naturally blending into the tent/background of her side of the room.

Illithia continued mischeiviously, playing her words up a bit with a finger playing absently with her lip in a classic 'airhead' manuveur. Her colouration has shifted back to that pleasantly playful purple pigment.

Studying her conversation partner at length, it's clear Anahita's not sure what's going on at this point-- or more importantly, lost any semblance of keeping her expression devoid of ...well, expressing.

"I ... you are confusing me. I asked what plans you might have when the sun sets. If--" She pauses and seems to consider those words. Were just prior disbelief and confusion, then calm and stillness.

Looking away now, towards the green of the surrounding trees, she takes a few moments to consider that, then back again.

"I do not understand your intentions in this conversation now and clearly I have failed to socialize properly, again. I will find you again at another time, please excuse me. Thank you for your company, Illithia. Be well." As she moves to stand, the light glint of light against her chain, and shift of white cotton, she moves to take a step and vanishes as usual. A lone ladybug flutters in and lands atop her tray near the table, the hint of dew and sunshine against grass remains.

Illithia frowns for a moment, then shrugs again, her happy-go-lucky attitude seemingly unruffled by the deep and focused manner of her companion. "Heh, I think you've lost me a bit there. Like, I've seen other Planes, at least a few times, but I can't help but think that's not really what you're talking about, huh?"

"I guess it depends on how you wanna define things." Illithia once again leans back on the bench, though this time not far enough to tempt falling over. "But I'm getting way over my head with this stuff. I stayed out of the philosophy classes for a reason. Makes my brain hurt."

Anahita looks to say something, then shuts her mouth after a moment, a slight flurry of emotion behind the expression of the dark skinned Keleshite.

"I apologize for pursuing the topics. I will refrain in the future. Do you have plans for this evening?"

She looks down at her empty tray and plate of sushi, then back up. Any indication of hearing voices and such elsewhere non-existent at this time.

Illithia reclines for a brief moment, seemingly forgetting that she was seated on a bench with no back, and almost falls off. There's a brief bout of flailing to stay on the bench before she regains her balance once more. She grins a bit sheepishly, her tattoos subtly shifting to an embarrassed pink.

"I dunno, Ana, getting angry won't fix anything. Even if it's not the way you thought it was, think about this instead: I met a priest once, back before I came to Avalon, who had dedicated his life to a god of madness, pain, and evil. Nicest guy, devoted to helping and healing, so I was pretty confused. He explained that the god had once been pure and righteous, and had been corrupted. The priest dude believed that the god had taken some evil intended for Agartha onto himself to protect us." Illithia shrugs and smiles. "I guess my point is is that even the gods are only what you choose for them to be. If that priest can take something wholly evil, and find inspiration in his to help the world, then..."

She trails off, apparently losing the thread of her point. There's silence for another long moment before. "You get what I'm saying?"

"And Heaven sounds totally boring by the way. Angels are stuck-up as Hell."

Anahita sits and listens to the advice provided by the diminutive female, along with studying her as the pink shift occurs and reverts to match appropriate to her current emotions. There's clearly curiosity at the transition of colors, and most likely interest at the underlining reasoning. Might as well put a closed box in a room with a light on it, Anahita's attention stays focused currently by the visual.

When she does speak, it's after a few moments of thought and a prolonged blink that seems to cut off the visual flow for the raven color, thick waves, haired young woman.

"My devotion is to no deity, to be clear. Though, I believe I understand the purpose of your tale and advice offered. I humbly disagree with you on that point, though. I would like to meet this priest, share of his trials and delights, to learn more of what you have shared. As for the latter question-- it was more to initiate an abstract conversation of whether or not you actually would recognize another plane, while still alive. I often wonder if the bounds of mortality limit perceptions. I do not believe they do, so it amazes me when I meet people who appear to be limited. Imagine for a moment, anywhere you do look, you did perceive your plane of eternal rest."

She looks off at this point, gazing out towards the forest and space beyond the window.

"I often wonder if others see things as I do. Beyond the obvious of others not having my eyes and spark, to interpret the sight I behold, imagine being able to see and speak of such, without the hinderance of language as a barrier."

Deep thoughts after eating sushi, clearly. Lunch time conversations for deep thinkers is best, it would appear, with this desert clad beauty.

"Such... marvels." She then shuts her eyes and seems to 'hear' sounds that aren't there once more.

Her dark gaze returns once again to Illithia, focused on her face once more with a smile.

"'S one way of learning 'bout people. Put pressure on them and see out they react." Illithia replies with a shrug before hopping down off the table and returning to her seat.

Illithia looks as though she about to say something in response to Anahita talking about Golarion when she changes the subject to the highly existential.

Illithia just smiles, her tone a match for Anahita's casual statement. "Heavy s++%, huh?" she takes a bit of deep-fried potato into her fingers and toys with it for a moment, seeming to idly consider it. She then pops it into her mouth, and speaks while chewing. "Way I see it, whatever's out there..." she makes a vague gesture upwards, "Like... gods, the divine, whatevs you wanna call it, you gotta wonder if they're just like us. The future's just this thing, y'know? Jus' cause they have more power, more wisdom, all that, doesn't mean that they always know what's going on. Doesn't mean they control everything. If dentisy's like,...

looks like I did miss this.

Anahita's thoughtful contemplation continues while looking towards nothing in particular.

"I have only known the life devoted to the divine. While not a predetermined devotion, at least so I believe, recent events make me dwell on this further with the looming threat of ...anger, were I to find out it is one truth versus another."

Her brow furrows in thought.

"Your manner fills me with the desire to ask this. You are quite free spirited, I perceive you. I cannot help but consider everything these days, were before I would not have given too much thought on it. Would you recognize your metaphysical Heaven if you arrived? Or the opposite?"

Anahita looks over at Illithia again now, the spot that-a-way no longer holding her attention.

"But simplicity isn't natural, y'know?" Illithia replies, with a partially dismissive motion of her arm. Even standing on the table her head is barely a foot above Anahita's. "The most natural thing in the world is complexity, even in the natural world. Ecosystems are so massively complicated that it boggles the mind. And it keeps going inside of us too."

She shrugs though, smiling and seeming in good humour, as if merely discussing these things was enjoyable for her. "Fear, maybe not as much at Avalon. I'm pretty normal, as far as folks go here. I don't even change shape into anything!"

"Well, it's cause sex is this, like, super polarizing thing, y'know? Never know how folks are gonna react when you bring it up. Can tell you alot about a person."

"And besides," she adds with a smirk. "It is fun. But we can talk about something else if you want. Like, where you come from? Agartha, or are you an off-planeter? Heh, still kinda weird to think about that."

Anahita's expression goes through a few variations, including annoyance and then calmness, the default when merely present to the world around her.

"So you chose your subject based on ...reactions in others? Interesting." With a glance back up at Illy again, after the last question, she replies.

"A world named Golarion, based on the majority of the population. Specifically, in a nation called the Padishah Empire of Kelesh. I suppose you can place me in that off planet category along with a few others. Not sure how relevant that is, though in the grand scheme of things ..." There's a pause of thought on her face as she seems to consider her words.

After a few moments, she looks off in consideration, then back to Illy. "Have you ever sat to ponder the point of your existence? The actual... divine, or something beyond your own thinking, purpose? Destiny, perhaps?"

She seems pretty casual about the topic, in tone and manner.

Illy maintains her grin at Anahita's apparently naivety and lack of tact, and waves her hand in the air. "You're assuming that sex and sexuality is something simple and easy to understand. It's waaaaay more complicated than that. Jus' cause Marsi's got a dick that doesn't make her a guy. It's all up here." There's somewhat wild gesticulating to go along with what she's saying, and Illy finishes by tapping her forehead. "Same thing for you. Nothing wrong with being curious about the ladies. I mean look at me. Damn sexy, no?"

She hops off her chair up onto the table when she says that, striking a noble (if somewhat silly) pose. Her tattoos are still solidly purple.

"Well, considering from what I've seen, adults are also obsessed with sex. Maybe it's just instinct. But there's also lots of people who don't care about sex, who like to do other stuff. It's their life, right? As long as they're not hurting nobody, who cares?" She finishes, still standing in her silly pose atop the table.

Giving the speech a bit of thought, though not really reacting too greatly to the dramatic and playful stance, Anahita dwells in thought before speaking again.

"I do not assume. I speak from the perspective of what is simple and natural. There is female, there is male. Those together, with exceptions in some species, give of one another-- and Life is continued. Sexuality, if you mean the enjoyment of one another's body, isn't anything I speak of. I cannot, it is not something I am overly familiar or learned in. If you mean anything else by sexuality-- I.." She gives a shrug. "That is not something I have studied at great length, or any, though I could speculate. I feel my observation and knowledge of the natural world is deep enough that I speak with some conviction and awareness, not assumption. Though, there is always room for change, and more learning."

She then looks up at Illy's stance and says, "I would not call you sexy, not like I am now. Though, your coloring is quite enticing at times, due to the exotic flavor of their manner. Your mind is intriguing, and that I find alluring. Your passions are noticeable, and those are refreshing to be near. I'm not sure what a male human would think of you, being halfling and the coloring, though, a simple person would most likely go one of two ways; attraction or fear masked as something else."

Then with a casual off handed wave, she concludes in agreement, "You speak wisely. Everyone has a choice in doing what they want-- and those that hurt another, threaten the choice all have innately when available. But, that is the talk of civilized philosophers. It's quite different in the wild untamed world. Quite different. The priorities are quite different."

Then looking back at Illithia, she asks, "Why do you bring up the topic of sex each time we speak? Are you obsessed, as they say, with that? Or do you simply enjoy the reactions people might provide on it?" Curiosity in her voice, though still expressively calm and thoughtful.

Illithia lets loose an overly dramatic exasperated sigh, but she carries on good-naturedly. "You're too stubborn for your own good. Alright, I won't bug you about resting right now, but you have to promise me you're going to get some actual sleep soon, alright? Magical sleeps and cheating on time-screwy planes doesn't count. It can't be healthy in the long run, y'know? 'Specially if you're falling asleep with your eyes open at the lunch table." There's a playful display of tongue there, directed at Anahita, her ink colouration settling firmly into that playful purple Anahita had praised earlier. :P

There's a light punch to Anahita's shoulder at the question of whom Illithia may or may not fancy. "Wha, you mean Marsi? Naw, I'm not into the ladies." she says, gesticulating animatedly in a dismissive way. "She's a sweet girl though. Got this thing where she's utterly terrified of anyone hearing her voice." Oddly, Anahita may recall that her Life Sense ability almost certainly labeled Illithia's silent companion as being male, counter to Illy's noun and pronoun usage.

Her eyes do flick around the room though, clearly 'checking out' various guys around the eating hall - almost all of them either halflings, or gnomes.

"That guy there is pretty cute." Illy says, apparently having no brakes on this conversation train, as she points out a white-skinned, white-haired gnome heading into the kitchens. "Though I'm guessing a bleachling wouldn't be much fun in the sack."

Tilting her head to the side briefly while glancing up and away, at Illithia's initial response, Anahita says, "My perception is that Marsi is male, perhaps there is something to explore there." If there's any sense of tact in this Universe, especially in a High School setting, Anahita lacks (apparently) skill in that. "I am curious to learn more -- Intriguing. As for not being into ladies, I must profess that there's a certain appeal. Like knowing like, again, something worth considering."

Once Illy mentions the Bleachling, however, her attention snaps down and towards the (assuming it's Repp) Halfling in question. There's a study, of sorts, not directly looking right at him, and then Anahita does that 'zoning out' thing, but different this time. She's quiet and unanimated, her expression bland, even if her features never fail to demonstrate their natural beauty.

"i ... no. There is a disconnection there, as I know it. I... hmm." A loss of words, oddly enough. She remains quiet in thought for a few more moments. "Curious. More feeling than thought on that topic."

"Can you explain, beyond the changes in the body due to the age of our peers, why primarily this topic of pleasure is foremost in your mind, and not, say-- the pleasure of casting spells, or exploring the unknown world around us?" She leans in and props her chin on a fist, elbow supporting that, faintly smiling at Illy who falls into her sleepy gaze. Her voice casual on the topic, yet still with that accent born of being a non-Common native speaker.

Illy's grin only finds more fuel at Anahita's responding smirk, and the colour is slowly draining away from the embarrassed pink shade and towards the earlier playfully purple colour when she sat down.

"Sorry Ana, but that ain't how friendship works! You aren't solely responsible for yourself. I'm responsible for you too. Duh. It's like you've never..."

Illithia stops short in her speech, her grin faltering for just a moment, with a whispered. "Oh. Damn."

"What I meant is that friends look after each other." Illithia tries to save her sudden trailing off, eagerly waving her hand. "Sounds like maybe you're just overstimulated. And if you need rest, you should friggin' rest, geez. Magically keeping yourself awake for long periods sounds like a good recipe for a short life."

While her tone is a little deprecating, and the purple colour is somewhat subdued, she holds steady with her grin. The colour begins to warm again as she carries on. "I've got sleep magic if you can't get to sleep yourself. Don't make me use it without permission! I'd hate to have to serve detention every time you need to sleep."

"You're trying to change the subject again. I'll indulge you if you let me escort you to your room. Deal?" Illy's grin has gotten wide enough to be considered 's*%*-eating' at this point, clearly thinking herself crafty and witty.

Anahita follows as Illy speaks, glancing down only once briefly at the start, then back up while looking at the young girl with coloring, straight in the eyes. Clearly a point was made, or true, but she proudly didn't respond to it verbally, or deny it.

"I do not see the point of visiting my quarters, truth be told. I assure you that I am well now, with focus comes awareness. With intent, the sloth that creeps in me fades. I have endured for a week or so without much rest, I can manage this. As for overstimulated-- yes, I cannot seem to stop looking into everything, thinking about everything. Yet, it feels good-- no, it feels great, to think. Even on the silliest things. There is a pattern to this, I'm certain, but I'm unsure being present to it as I am, the reason for it. A reason that one day, will be expressed clearly. Perhaps not today."

She finishes up the last of her remaining few sushi pieces and then looks back to Illithia, "Do you fancy any of the persons here, Illy? Your silent companion, perhaps? If I am being too forward, do let me know."

Glancing about she spies on the few Firebirds in the room, or open sources of fire, then back to Illy again.

Illithia is listening intently as Anahita rambles on, and her eyes widen at her proclaimation that she might indeed be mentally ill, but that she doesn't really care about it. She opens her mouth to fiercely object, but Anahita startles her once again with a hug. The grey colouration in her ink shifts wildly between pink, red and navy blue as her emotions fluctuate wildly. The colour finally settles on a light pink as Anahita lightly runs her fingers along the extensive colouration.

"Y-yeah." she replies, blushing slightly. "I... wasn't at Avalon when my powers first started to manifest. It... can we not talk about it?" Her expression changes slightly, her slightly embarrassed grimace changing to an approving smirk quickly, though her colours and cheeks retain the light pink shade. "It took some time for me to get used to wearing my emotions on my sleeve." she says, holding a tattoo'd arm up with the same colouration.

"'Sides! You're changing the subject! Why aren't you concerned about your own well-being?!" she continues, the arm that was held up coming down to point accusingly. "Don't make me march you into the infirmary!"

There's a slight smirk of bemusement at the threat, the wild within nearly rising up to the rush of challenge, but Anahita keeps herself contained.

"I must profess you are perceptive. You saw through my attempts to lead the conversation elsewhere. I shall not pry further on your history without consent. I am concerned with my well being, however, I accepted, willingly, where I am today and thus, am solely responsible for it. Given the pause and our talk, I realize that I am over taxed, augmenting my natural sleep with magic, as glorious as that is, is the potential result of my state. It is likely too, that my ethereal self, the non-physical, soul side, may be equally tired. I do not believe my magics can affect that -- just the body. I need rest. I need affection and distractions, moments to commune with the glory of nature as before, and better social ties than what I have now. Yet, I am torn-- the things I have seen lately, done, simply magnificent. Worlds visited, places travelled too, impossible to describe without taking time to collect one's thoughts. To do otherwise would be insulting to the wonder and awe I feel."

She does have a slight spaced out expression at the recalling, then her focus returns to Illithia. "It's ...nothing like I've witnessed before, and I felt old. I feel renewed, but, physically, I'm as healthy as I can be. I assure you of that. I am well versed in medical situations."

Then noticing the sushi there, perhaps way tepid, she reaches over to pick one up and eat it.

"So, how have you been? Anything new since we last met?" Not an overt change of subject, as much as, perhaps that last one's done.

Disrupting Anahita's tranquil contemplation is none other than the halfling from this morning's conjuration class, landing heavily (for a halfling) in the seat next to Anahita and clumisly enough that she jostles the Keleshite somewhat roughly.

"BOOM! 'Sup Ana?!" Illithia says loudly, her marked skin flickering to a playful violet colour, a big grin on her face. Her silent companion - Marsalli - is nowhere to be seen.

Anahita was doing anything but being alert to her surroundings, and Illithia's greeting rouses her sharply from what appeared to be a slumbering state.

Her reactions are of disorientation, surprise, quickly turning into awareness and her intense gaze once more.

"Illithia. Illy. Lovely colors. How fare you? I appear to have dozed off."

Anahita sounds oddly surprised at that, though apparently fully alert now. She gives that Cafe a quick glance as well.

Anahita then returns her gaze upon Illithia fully with her warm smile and serenely gaze. Nothing physically suggesting that the dark haired teen should be passing out, let alone in a seated position.

Female Human Teenager

Even with the din of the cafeteria being what it is, this does not appear to pull Anahita out of her silent ...sitting there, eyes closed, listening to things that no one else hears.

Her expression though, is one of peace-- not contemplation. Her breathing even, relaxed. It hadn't been too long yet, though it could be thought that she'd doused off, seated there.

What was left of her early started lunch remained, nearly complete in front of her.

Female Human Teenager

As the din within the Cafeteria starts to pick up, Anahita casually glances around-- stopping to peer over at the short white skinned gnome in line with Ace, narrowing her gaze briefly in their direction while her expressive face displays thought.

Then she, slowly, beings to sweeps the rest of the Cafeteria for those others that have joined, stopping here and there, tilting her head ever so slightly as if 'hearing' something along with the visuals her eyes provide.

Eventually, however, having stopped any pretense of eating, she shuts her eyes, listening to something no one else can hear. Her body language is sort of that someone dozing off might have, but she looks healthy and well, as usual.

Female Human Teenager

Having gotten into the Cafeteria earlier on, prior to the actual ringing or sounding of any bell, Anahita was seated near a window that opens to the outside over looking the green of plant life and such, plus open skies.

She sits, as before, dressed in her usual white desert attire, with laced gold/silver intricate chain wrapped between fingers and wrist of her left hand, idly chewing away at sushi bites.

Her hair is in the same fashion, long, flowing, raven waves done up in some thick ponytail fashion this time, reaching mid-back, and darker skin tone due to her Kelesh origins.

While she display no Aura of any sort, she does stand out to the casual onlooker as a sampling of the top tier of humanity, the sort of look or presence a warlord, or leader of man might possess, not your common stock.

Mostly day dreaming, it would appear, she continues looking out at the clouds and seeming to be distracted by nature, even if beyond the walls and windows.

Hm? I was fairly certain Vai shared at least part of her past with Anahita when they were discussing Champions?

Elsa fidgets uncomfortably at the question, glancing away from the young woman, her clasped hands tightening until the elven woman's knuckles turned white. Anahita's superior skill at reading people can easily detect the stress at the suggestion of sharing.

Her voice cracks slightly as she speaks. "If... if Vai has not shared it with you, I don't... I don't think I should." she says, her voice laced with guilt and pain.

As Anahita begins to dress herself, Elsa fidgets once more. "Thank you again, Anahita. I will excuse myself now." there's another bow, and unless further questioned, Elsa backs out of the room and closes the door behind her.

Oh, Vai did. Anahita isn't one to immediately blab details with just anyone, plus in her mind, she didn't want this Elf to feel even more s$!&ty if a family's 'secrets' were revealed. Plus, you learn more sometimes this way.

With a glance over her shoulder, Anahita nods a silent farewell watching the elven woman depart. Anahita's outfit was quickly restored and any chance of throwing off the natives vanished when donned.

She pondered the situation briefly, debated for half an instant if she properly managed the discussion, shook her head at the myriad of thoughts that ensued after that line of thought, and sighed after the mere moments of internal debate.

Eyes closed for a few moments after, she thought back to the warm water and shower, seeking to restore her relaxed state. Peace of mind seemed so elusive since her arrival-- save the few times away from the building.

A shake of her head, hand through hair to settle it, a determined look on her face again and she vanished, re-appearing in the cafeteria to pick up a tray. Perhaps a quick snack would assist. Food always helped and she didn't recall the last time she'd eaten.

Sorry for the short post, on my way to work!

Staring at Elsa for a few moments after listening to her speak, Anahita's impassive mask let's up a moment in resignation at some internalized thought that does slip through, followed by the question, "If it would assist you to share of your daughter's plight, I am willing to listen. If it is her tale to share, however, then perhaps in time she will do so with me."

She then moves towards her clothing, casually tossed atop a piece of furniture, proceeding to clean it and don it, first with arcane magic, then with her hands.

Elsa seemed a bit unsure of herself after Anahita's brief apology regarding cultural differences.

She was briefly encouraged though by the fact that unlike the other girl Elsa had spoken to, Anahita seemed considerably less standoffish.

"I... I'm not certain what path my husband and I will take yet. Vai--" there's a pause here for Elsa to collect herself. Memories of the previous evening's heated arguement are still fresh in her mind. "Vai thinks that we will be in danger if we leave the school, at least for a little while yet."

Taking a moment to consider, Anahita then says, "We are what we are in the world due to experiences. It is good that you have a daughter that wishes you to be healthy and well. The mark of a family with affection and concern for one another. Do you not have the means to protect yourself? Surely your daughter is in some way learned from you in her abilities? I will admit that I do not know her history, or yours, well, at this time. I am a relatively new arrival here at this ...school."

She takes but a moment to dwell on the last word before stating it. After that though, a slight thought appears to cross her mind, and she relaxes her face going into an impassive expression.

Elsa visibly blushes as Anahita continues toweling herself off. She averts her eyes after a moment, trying to at least preserve some of the girl's dignity, even if she didn't seem to care for it.

"That's... quite alright. I just... I just wanted to thank you for your help in rescuing us yesterday. We'd all be dead... or worse, if it weren't for you brave young people."

She bows shallowly to accentuate her gratefulness, hands folded gently in front of her. It also helps to hide the fact that Elsa is pretty freaking embarassed that this mostly naked girl doesn't particularily care for her state of dress.

Anahita returns the bow, while wrapping the towel around herself, clearly able to read the woman's disturbed state with ease.

"I apologize, ma'am. I did not think of your cultural issues with my state of dress. As for your thanks for our efforts, you are most welcome. Creatures from the external planes have no place disturbing the balance as they do. Yet, they will continue."

Considering for a moment, the teen then says, "When will you intend to return to your home world? Do you miss your fellow villagers? I am uncertain what more there is to be discussed."

Shortly after Anahita has finished her shower, there comes a quiet knocking at the door to her room.

Should Anahita choose to answer it, she'll find standing there an elvish woman. While she sports the eternally young face of all elves, this particular woman's expression belies a certain deep rooted sadness, though her bearing is upright - no slouch in these shoulders.

Anahita may note the family resemblance between this woman and the (late) Champion of Light, the same blue eyes and wavy blonde hair. She may also recognize that this is one of the vilagers whom she assisted in rescuing the previous day from Belsayv.

"Hello." she says with a small bow of her head. "Am I speaking with Anahita bint Tariq?"

Looking at the Elven woman, while still in her towel, Anahita merely nods and greets her in response, then steps back to give Vai's mother access to the stoic room.

"I recognize you as the mother of Vai. Is there a concern? Your fellow villagers are in good health, and your village should be restored in time, given the assistance assured me by the religious order they are currently with."

She continues the drying off while allowing Vai's mother to step in if she wishes, the gold-silver links of a chain, wrapped around her left forearm, from elbow down, shine brightly their masterwork craftsmanship against her dark skin. The room itself is primarily dark, as if someone neglected to turn on any lights. Illumination comes from the window looking out into the fields.

"I would offer you food and drink, regrettably, my quarters has not been prepared for visitors."

With a subtleness of a gentle caress, Anahita had re-appeared in her room back in Avalon.

She looked around at the starkness of the room, the way she'd left it from before, the bed still unused, the cabinets empty save for any standard garments pre-generated.

Still, subconsciously, she did arrive her, so this must have been what she wanted. The thought spiraled a bit in her mind, but being mentally spent as she was, the lack of joy in pursuing it won out.

These jaunts she'd be recruited into were weighing on her. So far, nothing devious or perverse appeared to be occurring, but, her curiosity continued to hound her -- urging her on to learn more. This aspect of her being and thoughts had increased vastly since her arrival. Just thinking on it, furthered the drive to learn more.

One simple cantrip later, clothing discarded in a cleaner state than before, a shower commenced, she reckoned she would feel somewhat restored after that last orgy witnessed.

If her Patron's goal was to cause Anahita to become indifferent to procreation rituals across the spectrum of life, she was starting down that road. The alternative, however, did dawn on her too. So far, no luring yet in that direction.

A quick few soaking minutes later, while not cleansed to the soul, her form certainly was cleaner. She felt slightly restored while walking out combing her thick mane, wrapped in a towel.

The room reminded her of some caves she'd been a dweller in, but it still lacked the touch of natural she always preferred.

Conjuration Class

While to all observers near her, Anahita paid attention to the lecture and participated expertly with any questions and answers, relating to what had been shared in class.

She gave a polite nod of farewell to the turned silent angel demonic elf, waved to the muted, and bid the halfling a polite farewell.

Social acts complete, once the class finished, she promptly vanished, leaving behind the recent characteristic fluttering creatures, or sprigs from the seats if wooden.

Glancing sideways with her eyes, Anahita merely says, "I am not certain that ...well, I certainly do not act in any manner to intentionally be virtuous. There seems little point in virtue, or I might not grasp the point of it." She tries a light smile at the statement.

Anahita considers the Halfling for a moment then leans over, when available to whisper closer, "I appreciate your concern, however, I have yet to be ill in any fashion. I doubt there is an issue with my mind either. I'm not quite certain, to be honest, what checked means along with some of your words. I do not have the one sickness, nor am I familiar with the latter in any manner. My well being is, I assure you, quite well in hand."

That was my last thought before some time was lost.. delving into that again may be the cause of my just recent loss of time. I remain more curious though, and thank you for that."

Her black ink has shifted now towards a yellow-green, sickly colour, and she's standing raising a hand and looking at Vare, who has yet to resume his lecture. "Professor, permission to take Anahita to the infirmary. I think she just had an absent seizure, and she should be checked."

Looking a bit put out at the request without involving her in it, Anahita states firmly, "I am fine. There is no need for further attention on this-- nor further interrupting the Professor. My apologies. I can assure those interested that this will not happen again. I am physically well, a healer is not required."

She seems a touch flustered at the assertion, and request, trying to stave it off with her assurances. If there /were/ any ulterior motives behind Illithia's request, she didn't get it.

This stillness, unlike the fluttering eyes and distant gaze, only lasts a mere six or so seconds, before she snaps alert again, as if released from an enchantment.

She immediately narrows her gaze at Illithia, who'd been poking her, then around the room.

"I have lost track of time, what has happened and for how long?" She frowns after speaking this, realizing full well where she is, and how she is not affording her Professor, regardless of their association, her best behavior.

The thought of that washes over her expressive features, and she looks downward, self-chastised at her manner.

"Well, maybe we could try using a spell to reach it? Even if you can't take me with you, I can Plane Shift on my own." she offers in response, excitement clearly growing on her features, as the black ink shifts once again towards the green colour from before. Her voice is losing some of it's discretion too. Even Vare isn't deaf.

Giving Illy a non-verbal look of warning, including Vare, Anahita adds discretely, "Beware of your voice, lest we are heard. Anahita appears to listen to the lecture.

With any reference to something specifically non-magical, she just sits and listens, though when any arcane topic arises, per the skill, depending on the exotic or degree of obscurity to it, her eyes flutter and take on that distant look, or she may actually vanish utterly, the first time the topic is brought up.

Regarding discussion of the planar topics, this oddness does not occur. It seems to primarily occur with regards to 'magic', i.e. the arcane, and only the once.

When the various races of planar beings are mentioned, however, she will occasionally peer to the side, as if someone where speaking into her ear to her right.

Her expression, for the most part, however, remains neutral or pensive. She does occasionally between speaking, peer out at the others in the room.

As she examines Vare's handiwork on the board, he appears to be drawing a design of some kind, in white chalk. He's being very meticulous in his drawing, careful of even small details.

The device Vare is drawing is most definitely a summoning and binding circle, and could be used to draw Outsiders to be trapped within it, were the appropriate magic brought forth upon it.

Anahita's attention is captured by the drawings and work, and her eyes flutter as if pages are being sorted through in her mind, an unfocused look on her face, back arching slightly, and then she's back again.

A few blinks later, she's present to the room once more. The briefest of strained looks on her expressive face fade away, reverting to her neutral visage.

Closing her eyes, Anahita took in a few measured breaths, releasing them evenly and calm. The turmoil going through her mind and spirit was not displayed, she'd long ago learned to perfect her physical form to do exactly what she wanted.

The rambling of the two near her was-- annoying, and base, but there'd been a time in her past that these things would not have mattered. Though, now, even the smallest tidbit of anything stirred her mind, as though anything and everything required examining and discussion.

The thoughts she had, she knew at one point would most likely overwhelm her without a proper release, but for now-- examine and adapt. Survival required learning. Learning took time. Sorting and change, took more. Even this way of thought was new. So many words. Languages and races.

Opening her eyes after the zillion runaway thoughts shot through them, she looked over toward Vare, seeing what he'd written. Trying to keep her thoughts silent, proved to be as much a failure as silencing Jivana.

A single sigh escaped her, her mask otherwise in place, just the desert dweller in a school with beings her age, trying to learn.

Unconsciously, her right fingers toyed with the chain of simple silver wrapped between her left hand digits. The contact reminded her of the Rim of the World, the winds and cold...

"I will applaud my first teacher, a female, that shared the finer points of the female anatomy, which did help contribute to my personal and external studies, however, I'm more curious in the thoughts and motivations here. Self experimenting seems ...not appropriate yet, nor am I curious enough. Is it Lust? Romance? Power play? Domination? A twisted climb of the social structure? Perhaps a way to ignore an inner fault with the act? Hence my suspicion this might be an addiction. Why not do the act vigorously for the health benefits and bonding that could occur between mates? Or the development of intimacy and trust between a chosen ...partner? Does that not enter your thoughts, Illy?"

The demiplane explanation seems to suffice for the pair of girls - conjuration students after all - and they nod along. Illithia's playful grin remains while Anahita fumbles, trying to explain her outrushing thoughts. "Hey, don't hold back on my account. If you've got thoughts that you need out of your brain, by all means. Looks like your squeeze is distracted right now anyway." She waves one of her small hands in Vare's direction, where the Wizard is still chatting away with the strange elven boy.

Now that she's not quite 'on the spot' as much, Illithia's embarrassment fades away, and the tattoos slowly return to their black tone. The grin remains though, and widens at Anahita suggestion of becoming male. "Yeah, I'm more a girl of action, you might say. Talking's nice up to a point, but sometimes you just gotta get dirty to really understand. Which I'd be totally down to help with, if you can 'shift into a guy. I take it things aren't too serious with him" again, a small motion towards Vare. "if you're tossing out ideas like this."

The grin disappears for a moment when Anahita mentions addiction, though returns after a moment. "Hey, it's not like I'm offing myself in the bathroom between classes. They're awesome, but addicted might be taking it a bit far, y'know?"

Sitting back at this point, Anahita's expression goes a touch bland and she says, "Perhaps. A hypothetical conversation. Much like an illusion of conversation to be entertained in the mind while discussing the details. At no time would I openly state you are addicted, without further research, given our level of interaction thus far. Be assured of that."

She seems to glance about at the additional new bodies in the class, pausing to consider the combination of three-in-one.

Quietly, she asks the pair, "How curious. Elf, yet, mutated. Do either of you two know that being? Healthy." She glances briefly between the two with her, to study their faces and sense their motivations for a few, then back towards Vare and elf.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (15) + 35 = 50

Anahita is dressed as usual, and apparently her only article of clothing, in a white, cotton outfit that seems appropriate to desert dwellers. There are some embroidered patterns of flame, masterfully worked into the entire outfit, giving her a refined appearance. Her raven, long, black hair, cascades off her head, cloud like in it's bountiful body of thickness and waves. Her black eyes peer out with an intensity and intelligence that could be off putting, or merely add to her impressive, and seemingly mighty, stature. Not just some commoner off the streets, one gets the impression she is an example of the pinnacle of humanity.

Then, quietly, "So much to behold, even after... to learn."
