All she could immediately tell was that it was humanoid and probably male, as it was covered from head to toe in some kind of suit or skein and helmet. In each hand was a frankly ridiculous amount of weapons and other gear (all in a similar condition to what she found when she arrived). Far more than should be comfortably be carried by a normal humanoid, to be sure.

And she was not entirely sure this thing was even a living thing. Right after it appeared it turned its head in her direction and released its haul of goods in one seamless, fluid motion that defied her understanding of most of the lesser races. It then just...stopped. And not turning, but became utterly still. No sway of motion, no twitch of the hands - not even the telltale rise and fall of the chest to indicate breathing. Combined with the utter lack of any sound from the figure (other than when it dropped the equipment), the effect is more than a bit unsettling.

Vai: ** spoiler omitted **

Only machines move this precisely, this efficiently, this...succinctly. If that is the case, though, that means that it will fall prey easily enough to her prodigious powers of lightning...

There's just a tiny moment of hesitation from the elder Vai before her finger squeeze the trigger. The unmistakable bang of a slugthrower propelling it's round.

Sniper Rifle: 1d20 + 54 ⇒ (12) + 54 = 66
Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 + Sneak Attack (not sure if applicable): 10d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 4, 5, 6, 3, 4, 5, 3) = 44

Her invisibility spell disrupted by the hostile action, the Champion of Light appears in all her glory. Shining as a beacon of all that is Good. There's a tiny, brief second where Fei might've mistook this woman for his love. It's the same face, the same blue wings, the same wavy blonde hair. Even the same sense of determined courage. Sure, the face is lined with age and the hair is streaked through with platinum, but it's the eyes that really drive home to Fei that this is not his Vai. There's no laughter or joy in these eyes, no life. And her face is twisted into an unhappy sneer that would never look right on his Vai.

"Hello, Courage. Dealt with one Champion of Light and here for the other, are you?" she sneers, even as claws form at her fingertips. "You'll find me not as easy prey as that simpleton."

She's already taken her action though, so I'll let you go. XD

Excellent - Vai thinks that was a very nice shot indeed :)

Fei's body jerks back from the blow, his head and torso gyrating almost 90 degrees as the left side of his chest takes the hit from the powerful rifle. He only returns halfway to his original position, the right side of his body the only portion visible to her now. His stance appears a bit less menacing than before - testimony to the effectiveness of a well-placed chest shot.

What a very, very odd thing to say to him. Alright then....

Fei is unsure on how to interpret that comment, but knows this will devolve quickly into violence if he does not do something to force her to leave. Tapping once again into his control over the facility systems he tries to buy enough time to make that happen.

He sets the environmental system to start gradually removing the oxygen from the room. Then, in a voice modulated by his nanosuit to sound mechanical and utterly unlike his real one, the young monk replies "I think you have me confused with another Champion....perhaps because you do not belong in this universe. You should return from whence you came. Now."

Giving the speech a bit of thought, though not really reacting too greatly to the dramatic and playful stance, Anahita dwells in thought before speaking again.

"I do not assume. I speak from the perspective of what is simple and natural. There is female, there is male. Those together, with exceptions in some species, give of one another-- and Life is continued. Sexuality, if you mean the enjoyment of one another's body, isn't anything I speak of. I cannot, it is not something I am overly familiar or learned in. If you mean anything else by sexuality-- I.." She gives a shrug. "That is not something I have studied at great length, or any, though I could speculate. I feel my observation and knowledge of the natural world is deep enough that I speak with some conviction and awareness, not assumption. Though, there is always room for change, and more learning."

She then looks up at Illy's stance and says, "I would not call you sexy, not like I am now. Though, your coloring is quite enticing at times, due to the exotic flavor of their manner. Your mind is intriguing, and that I find alluring. Your passions are noticeable, and those are refreshing to be near. I'm not sure what a male human would think of you, being halfling and the coloring, though, a simple person would most likely go one of two ways; attraction or fear masked as something else."

Then with a casual off handed wave, she concludes in agreement, "You speak wisely. Everyone has a choice in doing what they want-- and those that hurt another, threaten the choice all have innately when available. But, that is the talk of civilized philosophers. It's quite different in the wild untamed world. Quite different. The priorities are quite different."

Then looking back at Illithia, she asks, "Why do you bring up the topic of sex each time we speak? Are you obsessed, as they say, with that? Or do you simply enjoy the reactions people might provide on it?" Curiosity in her voice, though still expressively calm and thoughtful.

"But simplicity isn't natural, y'know?" Illithia replies, with a partially dismissive motion of her arm. Even standing on the table her head is barely a foot above Anahita's. "The most natural thing in the world is complexity, even in the natural world. Ecosystems are so massively complicated that it boggles the mind. And it keeps going inside of us too."

She shrugs though, smiling and seeming in good humour, as if merely discussing these things was enjoyable for her. "Fear, maybe not as much at Avalon. I'm pretty normal, as far as folks go here. I don't even change shape into anything!"

"Well, it's cause sex is this, like, super polarizing thing, y'know? Never know how folks are gonna react when you bring it up. Can tell you alot about a person."

"And besides," she adds with a smirk. "It is fun. But we can talk about something else if you want. Like, where you come from? Agartha, or are you an off-planeter? Heh, still kinda weird to think about that."

Kevin shudders. It looks weird to see him shudder. Kind of like when you flick jello, the ripple travels from top to bottom.
"I most definitely don't want that either. Where outside of campus is good to have him meet us? Town wouldn't be good. Too many people to get in the way. Maybe we can go and you could open a portal to that plane somewhere so he'd still be out of our plane at least if anything happens? Where would be a good place outside school to set that, if that's what you want to do. I'm afraid I don't get out of the lab much. Outside is... outside..."

Once Midori grabs on, lang pauses for a moment, several thoughts racing through his mind. Midori can practically sense Lang definitely enjoys taking Midori flying.

After a bit, Lang takes off. He makes a few loops around the Temple grounds. he passes by several other young air benders gliding about. and she spots a few giant Owls out "spreading their wings".

eventually Lang leads them to a separate section of the temple grounds connected by a long stone bridge. There are several Owls around here, and the area Lang is taking them is what appears to be a nursery for baby Owls.

Sara and Sun seems to be there playing with three baby owls already.

Okay, the quotes around spreading their wings makes it seem like they're doing something dirty. This is probably just be and my dirty dirty mind though.

Over the course of the flight it's pretty clear that Midori is taking in the beauty and grandeur of the mountains and valleys around them, seeming to get lost in it all for a little while.

The mood carries into the nursery, with the kunoichi staying fairly silent and withdrawn, though not unhappily so. Midori's stoic demeanor cannot stand at the sight of Sara playing with the owlets, and she finally breaks into a full smile. Despite this, she stays to the rear, letting Lang take the lead.

Not that odd. All she knows is a Champion killed the other Vai, and lo and behold, a Champion shows up here and starts messing with the reactor.

"I rather like it here, thank you." she quips back, her voice full of vitriol, though Fei can catch a slightly victorious flare of her wings at the effect her shot seemed to have on him.

Her ear twitches slightly as oxygen begins to be pumped out of the room. It must be a Soulmech, somehow neurally linked into the facilities control schema. There's no way she could compete on the electronic warfare front with a machine, but if the shot from the rifle was anything to go by, this Champion shouldn't last long under a sustained assault. "You'll have to do better than that, Courage" she sneered again, her voice dripping with acid. She then crouched, and took to the air staying out of Fei's reach while avoiding the sometimes-cramped spaces within the lab.

Does Fei have Spellcraft or any other way to tell when a spell has been cast?

Also, on a completely unrelated note, can I get a perception check please?

"So you chose your subject based on ...reactions in others? Interesting." With a glance back up at Illy again, after the last question, she replies.

"A world named Golarion, based on the majority of the population. Specifically, in a nation called the Padishah Empire of Kelesh. I suppose you can place me in that off planet category along with a few others. Not sure how relevant that is, though in the grand scheme of things ..." After a few moments, she looks off in consideration, then back to Illy. "Have you ever sat to ponder the point of your existence? The actual... divine, or something beyond your own thinking, purpose? Destiny, perhaps?"

"Raelle..." he turns to face her again, looking into her eyes. He wasn't going to skirt around this any longer. "Vai... somebody killed Vai. Apparently she's already agreed to come back, but there's.. uh... complications with whatever is happening to end the universe."

Raelle went pale, unable to speak. She could barely breathe. She felt like someone just kicked her in the chest. Her sister....she could hardly deal with losing her friends and now this.....No, this was different. Vai wanted to come back. She was going to come back.

The only outward sign of her inner turmoil was her 'tattoos' shifting and moving across her skin. She took a deep breath, trying to get past that feeling of not being able to get enough air.
"So we fix this thing with the end of the universe and then she comes back? Come on, we need to hurry and fix this as soon as possible," she said, grabbing his hand and heading towards the lab even quicker.

Djalos' Mindscape:

The first thing that Miss Jones notices when she enters Djalos' mind is that everything is black and white. This may be a result of how he senses the world, or it may be something integral to his psyche. Suffice to say, however, his mindscape has a lot more interesting details than that.

Shelves of books seem to stretch in every direction. On casual inspection, some of them appear to be actual works of literature. However, many of them simply have a date, place, and mission number on their spine. In the center of this vast black-and-white library lies a circular depression, in which Djalos watches, apparently fully able to see, a replay of his short time at Avalon. He pauses at a lunch table while talking to two firebirds, and takes various notes in a book simply titled, "Avalon Notes." He nods once on your arrival, then continues to write.

Miss Jones' trained psychic senses can tell that there is a large amount of psionic potential within Djalos, but it is tied up doing... something. That something is obvious with a glance towards the ceiling, where a whirling vortex of energy appears to be the "sun" Djalos' mindscape. Tense chains of psychic energy surround it, barely containing this massive storm of energy.

And then there's the brick wall. There is a ten foot by ten foot brick wall just... sitting there, on the outer edge of Djalos' mindscape. It's shoddy craftsmanship would definitely warrant a lecture. However, it is completely foreign in Djalos' mindscape: it sticks out like a sore thumb. Someone else probably put it there, and it throbs with emotional energy.

Outwardly, Djalos appears deep in meditation. He's utterly serene.

He checked visuals and other scanners looking for Tryko'Sam as soon as he arrived at the destination.

Starcaster ends the engagement and powers down, gathering energy for the next use. In the cockpit of the mech, Jeran's systems start to feed him telemetry from his immediate surroundings, and specific scans.

Right off the bat, indications of debris and other non-living materials lingering here and there, non-threatening, or moving in such a pace as to provide no danger to defensive mechanisms.

Beyond his own existence, no life within scan range. Though, a man sized and density object, unlike the other debris straight ahead, well within 'arms' reach. Lights play onto the object, and sure enough, one dead looking Tryko'Sam in the ragged clothing from before. Beads of blood and fluids floating idly about near him. His eyes open, dead, then he snaps alive-- gasping the vacuum of space, thrashing about only briefly, as the lack of oxygen and other particulars required for a living being to survive are denied. The indicators state living figure ahead and movement, but diminishing signs... until he appears to be passing out, into a sleep state, from asphyxiation once more.

In the midst of all this, the other scans indicate some unusual readings in this specific area. Even the rocks and matter here, seems devoid of energies and such-- almost as if this portion of space were drained of Positive Energy, or it's nearest equivalent, along with any and all elements that can be categorized as metal.

Whether or not Jeran's savvy would know this from the readings, or there's an onboard system to assist with that data, is up to Lynora.

Depending on how long Jeran 'stands' there in space, because it is space, with a single star roughly eight light minutes away, determines if something else will occur... though Tryko'Sam will certainly go through his returning to life and dying from lack of air, again... and again.

I kind of doubt your mech's sensors would detect if demonic or other Outside possession is in effect, but, let me know if so. Clearly, there's only so much detail provided without knowing specifics.

Phaezeriel stops with his hand on the door to the room in which Ginni was waiting for him and took a deep breath, squaring his shoulders as if in preparation for a difficult task.

Inside, the room is only dimly lit, and he settles onto a stool at the head of her bed. Phaezeriel places the glowing crystals close to hand, then places his hands against the sides of her head, Physical contact makes this kind of delicate work easier.

His thoughts come to her softly, reassuringly, ::Ginni, I am going to help you. I need you to try not to fight me. We will have you set right soon.::

With just a brief moment's pause, his consciousness sinks into her shattered mind and he gets to work on the largest and most complex puzzle he has ever attempted.

Arthur sighs and mutters "rule #12, never let scentiant inertia work against you," he raises his voice so that all in the room could easily hear him, "if I am not told otherwise I'm goin to take it as permission to have her moved," he then pauses for about ten seconds before turning to Hermes "ok, Hermes, please take her to some secure, out of the way room, somewhere someone won't just walk in and find her, use the arrows if you can't think of somewhere yourself" he then turns back to his work muttering "rule #5, if you want something done right, espically if you want it done prompt, do it yourself"

meanwhile, a creature looks at a multicolored crack. It prods the crack gently, before heading through, curious.

a woman tumbles into existence through what, to most, is an invisible crack. She quickly grasps at her eyes in pain, scratching them, trying to figure out what horrible thing is in her eyes. She quickly figures out that closing them makes the horrid thing go away, and keeps them shut. She then attempts to stand, only to discover her legs aren't as numerous as before. After a few tires, she stands, and move about, only to run into a tree, and fall back down. She rubs her head. Then feels the ground.

"so many solid things..."

She thinks to herself, getting back to her feet. Reluctantly, she opens an eye, and starts to wander in the forest she's in, nervously looking about.

"So many similar things..."

She thinks, looking over the trees. She moves slowly through the forest for a while, waiting for something to head towards, something... Different.

small retcon about moving vai

Mel takes a break from what she was working on...well...who knows what, it was hard to tell really, there were drawings and sketches all of the place as well as mathematical formula that seemed almost indecipherable, at least to everyone but her. they seemed to make no sense really.

going over to see Vai, stopping to acknowledge Vai's father, (sorry I am really drawing a blank on him) she stoops down to be a little closer to her friend.

I'm sorry, I promise we will fix this. she whispers placing a hand on her friend's lifeless shoulder.

she stays there a bit longer in silence. then she turns to return to work. passing by Arthur as she does. placing a hand on his arm, Mel silently thanks him for being here.

Shortly.. Or was it ages... Before? No after? Same time? Bah... The other being saw the crack and fell through it, another being saw the crack... Wait it recognized this hole! It was from the before time, back when he.... Yes through the crack was freedom, freedom and power! Maybe on the power... But definitly on the freedom! The creature willed itself foward through the crack... And suddenly felt both gravity and light for the first time in... Well he wasn't actually sure, either way it threw him off, espically given that he came through the portal upside down, "what the faaaa gah!" He shouted accidentally breathing out a gout of flame burst from his mouth. He panickedly beat his wings and ended up crashing into several trees, knocking them down with his girth, somehow getting pinned under several of them next to a body of water.
He pauses and pants.. Huh it seemed he needed air again, useful to note, he looked around to see where he ended up, he mumbles to himself "hmm looks like either a material plane, or someplace dedicated to nature bleh, at a guess I'd sa-" he the gets cut off by the vision of a coatal near his head, be better act quickly to end the thing before it brought reienforcements or took advantage of it's downed and weakened state, he breathes out a gout of fire (delibritly this time) and it seems to connect with the feathered nuisance, but the thing seemed to have countered with a massive fog cloud, apparently to cover it's escape while it went to get rienforcements, he needed to get out from under these trees and fast! He pushed with all his might and felt a massive pain in his wing, it seemed to be broken, and with a large branch impaled on it to boot. he was stuck... F#+*

Arthur gives a weak smile directed twards melody, before his face hardens and he proceeds to do as previously posted

the woman hears a loud crack, and runs over to the odd noise. She hurries over, squinting. Her hair is jet black and extends to her waist, and she seems fairly tanned. Her eyes are the most off thing about her, more serpentine then human. She sees the creature Throguh squinted eyes, and smiles a bit, slowly starting to approach it, trying not to be bothered by this horrible sensation that happned as she got close to the bright stuff surrounding the creature.
"He... Hello."
she speaks, in a lanugage that should, by all rights, not even exist, let alone be understood.
"R-r-rainbow seems to b-be bleeding. I-i can fix t-that..."

1d4 ⇒ 3 the pinned creature hears a noise an immiedietly attempts to blast a gout of fire at the intruder, but he coughs violently and barely managed a single, pathetic foot of flame instead of his normal, fairly majestic thirty feet cone of destruction. His cough is so violent that his whole body thrashes, injuring his wing further, "who are you! Show yoursel you coward! Are you too afraid of me even when I'm injured and pin-" his gloating rant is cut off by another round of cinder filled, full body coughs... Unnoticed by either of the two* several of the larger cinders land on the leaves of the trees around them
*your character may in fact notice, but is unlikely to care

she doesn't even seem phased by his threats, and moves closer to the wing.
"H-h-hold still, I need to get this out, first. It... Won't feel good. But it'll... M-make it better."
she waits for him to relax, even a little.

Figment Narrator 20

"How do I know I can trust you, I can't even see you!" He tries again to remove himself from the trees, this time causing them to brake slightly, unfortunately this embeds several splinters into his back and wings, he cries out in pain as a result of it.

Female "Voidwalker" with 16 Abberation HD

she moves closer, and starts carefully moving thigns out of the way.
"Y-y-you can't know. But I.. I'm not sure r-rainbow has much of a better option..."
she helps push a tree out of the way, hoping to direct it away from him as he moves it.
she should be within 5 feet now, so she should be visible.

Figment Narrator 20

the not visible part is because he can't properly see behind himself, pins under the trees like that, plus the mist, plus your own stealthy nature
The "rainbow" growls lowly but doesn't object any further

Female "Voidwalker" with 16 Abberation HD

the woman helps get the trees off, then moves to the impaled branch.
"M-might be best to l-leave it there, for now. I don't have anything to stop it from bleeding. If I take it out, rainbow might bleed rather badly... Can rainbow slither, or just fly?"
she starts carefully taking splinters out. Everything she does is as painless as it can be expected to be.

Figment Narrator 20

The rainbow blinks "rainbow? Slither? What in The Nine are you talking about woman?" The voice sounded feminine anyway, not that it particularially mattered

she keeps plucking thigns out, talking to keep his attention on things that aren't his current pain.

"Oh, did I say something offensive, rainbow? I mean... You might have to with the condition of your wing..."

Figment Narrator 20

The "rainbow" snorts "I can move just fine so long as this blasted trees are gone! Are you done removing that thrice cursed branch yet!"

Female "Voidwalker" with 16 Abberation HD

she finshes plucking out most of the splinters, and moves on fo looking over the wing.
"Well, that's good. Uhm. Removing the whole thing might cause rainbow to bleed out, I've not anything to patch a wound. I'm going to need your help to move the trees, but don't move that wing, ok? It's broken, and you'll make it worse if you do."

Figment Narrator 20

"Oh and I suppose dragging it is sooo much better for it, just remove the branch from the tree if that's all you can do" he says condescendingly.

Female "Voidwalker" with 16 Abberation HD

she tilts her head a moment, then shakes it.
"No, no expectation of rainbow dragging it. Like I said, removing the whole thing might cause bleeding. I'll help rainbow keep rainbow's wing off the ground, and make sure enoguh is removed not to cause issue."
she still doesn't seem upset, and starts trying to push one of the trees out of the way, expecting help from rainbow,
