"We'll find out. Come on, I've managed to make a little workplace in my room, I'll show you how I make stuff."Taika takes her brother's hands and walks out to the hall where she lights up the arrows to her room. When the get there she opens the door and walks in, holding up her arm for the tiny metal humanoid that lands on it and waves at Vis.
"Have you met Arma before?"
vis shakes her head, and stares at arma. He sloly moves his hand out. Maybe to shake, maybe to touch, but doesn't bring it too close, allowing the creature to refuse if it desired. Notnehtless, it has vis's full attention right now.

Vis Niyambi |

With a nod from Taika, Arma hops on the outstretched hand.
"She doesn't talk much, but Arma is what's called a Homunculus. She's pretty protective of me, but is a great help when I need to get things in a hurry. She likes you though."
vis holds the creature, looking it over in his hand.
"Wow."he whispers, utterly fascinated by arma.
"H-hello."
he says, realizing he never acutally returned her greeting.

Djalos Tyon wrote:Djalos strides into the Enchantment classroom and pulls up a chair that Archen could've sworn wasn't there before. "Greetings, Miss Jones," the young elf begins, his tone crisp, clean, and clinical. "My name is Djalos Tyon, of the... formerly of the Anonemuss clan. It has recently come to my attention that I have a psychic block in my mind, most likely placed there by my handler. I do not know the purpose of this block, but Raelle del Sol, who noticed it, cautioned me that it may be detrimental to my mental health. I was guided here by Archena, as I cannot see due to my powers. Is there anything you can do to remove this block in my mind?"Miss Jones raised an eyebrow. "I hadn't realized that Miss del Sol had progressed so far in developing her psychic abilities," she said dryly. "I am capable of removing this mental block of yours provided it wasn't placed there by a deity. THat would require more time. However, provided your handler was mortal, this should be a fairly simple matter. I will require permission to access your mind and examine the areas around the psychic block. If for some reason I discover that the block is placed there in the interest of your safety or the safety of those around you I reserve the right to refuse to remove it. If. as I think is more likely, it was simply placed in a misguided attempt at control, then I will remove it as requested and will provide counseling as necessary to help you through the process of its removal. More long term therapy may be required and is outside my area of expertise. In that case I would refer you to someone else who can help. Are these terms acceptable? Do I have your permission to proceed?" she asked in a crisp, businesslike tone.
Djalos nods. "I agree to your terms. Should I sit down during this process?" The young elf asks. He is in the "at attention" position.
Lyn, PM incoming.

narrator |
Suddenly, an alarm sounds in the draconic 'lounge' - there has been a containment breach in the facility's primary nuclear reactor that is about to reach this level. The radiation doors come slamming down at speed....all except for one that sounds its own alarm. The display port on the wall for this door indicates a malfunction in the automatic closing mechanism, and a partial failure in the manual override. The one on this side will not work, but the one outside still does.
While the massive door is almost sealed - it now sits a scant foot above the floor - that will not be any protection from the radiation the alarms say is about to flood the outside corridor. Neither dragon could fit underneath to get to the mechanism, but the slaves in this chamber could do so, and manually seal the door if they were all sent out and worked together to do so immediately...
Ezzilranitrix growled as she pulled up a display. "The entire facility is compromised. Incompetent fools! There's not enough time to salvage this. Meet me at these coordinates," she added, for Vai's benefit, pulling the coordinates of her secondary facility up on screen. "I'll send a cleanup crew to deal with whatever is left here and deal with the repairs," she pouted, annoyed at losing her best facility and her after lunch entertainment all in one go.
With that she teleported herself to her secondary facility, well away from danger. It was a shame to lose so many slaves, but if they couldn't maintain a simple nuclear reactor it was their own fault.

Vai Emkar |

The great wyrm glanced disdainfully at the space where the red had just been occupying and sighed. Well, it wouldn't hurt if she shifted now, all these eyes were going to die anyway.
The elder Vai quickly shifts from her massive form into her winged humanoid form. "There's always time for salvage." she mutters to herself, before teleporting to a computer terminal, looking for the labs the Red mentioned.

Imperial Chronicler |

As Vai brings up the interface, it appears that most of the facility has already been flooded with terminal levels of radiation. Any items in those places would be most...unhealthy...to have in close proximity for any length of time now.
The Research level, however, has not been totally compromised yet. The laboratory her crimson compatriot mentioned is there, and currently clear of radiation. Though not for much longer, according to the system's projections...

Taika Niyambi |

vis holds the creature, looking it over in his hand.
"Wow."
he whispers, utterly fascinated by arma.
"H-hello."
he says, realizing he never acutally returned her greeting.
The Homunculus waves again, watching its creator brother curiously while Taika got to work collecting what she'd need for a small bauble.
"What do you think if Arma, Vis?"

"She's kinda amazing."
vis remains entranced, smiling at the creature. It's reslly amazing.
Ardiente |

She took his hands in hers to keep them from fidgeting. "Hey, whatever it is, you can tell me," she said softly, trying to make eye contact. "We can handle it together. I seem to recall we make a pretty good team," she added with just a hint of a smile.
Ardiente allows the eye contact when she takes his hands. There's a ghost of a smile to match Raelle's at her team comment, Ardiente's heart fluttering slightly despite the tight grip of the mood on said heart. "It's... well. There's some sort of... problem, that Aunt Aananda and Arthur and Melody are working... apparently the universe is going to end if they can't fix it. I kinda thought they were playing a prank at first."
"They're... building something to try to fix it, and I thought... well, you are really good at building things, maybe you could help." Ardiente takes a deep breath and looks away for a moment, still ashen-faced. "There's more too, but we should probably go to the lab."

Ehos Denulia |

"I agree, Ehos. No one here will question your strength or dedication, or think you weak. Unwise, perhaps..." he says with a smirk "...if you choose to continue, though."
Head still cradled in his free hand, Ryuzo can detect a faint smile half-hidden behind the hand. 'Yeah, well, I don't think anyone has ever accused me of being wise. If I'm the only person that Alys can talk to, then offering her that connection is worth some pain. I wouldn't mind if Nala healed me, but even I could pick up that she was uncomfortable with it. I'm not so selfish as to ask her to do that again.'
Ehos seems content for the moment to simply nurse his aching head, only half-listening to the one-sided conversation with the now-silent Alys.
At least, until Alys turns to leave, at which point Ehos quickly jumps up and pads silently to her side, escorting her as she leaves the room.

Illithia |

Anahita follows as Illy speaks, glancing down only once briefly at the start, then back up while looking at the young girl with coloring, straight in the eyes. Clearly a point was made, or true, but she proudly didn't respond to it verbally, or deny it.
"I do not see the point of visiting my quarters, truth be told. I assure you that I am well now, with focus comes awareness. With intent, the sloth that creeps in me fades. I have endured for a week or so without much rest, I can manage this. As for overstimulated-- yes, I cannot seem to stop looking into everything, thinking about everything. Yet, it feels good-- no, it feels great, to think. Even on the silliest things. There is a pattern to this, I'm certain, but I'm unsure being present to it as I am, the reason for it. A reason that one day, will be expressed clearly. Perhaps not today."
She finishes up the last of her remaining few sushi pieces and then looks back to Illithia, "Do you fancy any of the persons here, Illy? Your silent companion, perhaps? If I am being too forward, do let me know."
Glancing about she spies on the few Firebirds in the room, or open sources of fire, then back to Illy again.
Illithia lets loose an overly dramatic exasperated sigh, but she carries on good-naturedly. "You're too stubborn for your own good. Alright, I won't bug you about resting right now, but you have to promise me you're going to get some actual sleep soon, alright? Magical sleeps and cheating on time-screwy planes doesn't count. It can't be healthy in the long run, y'know? 'Specially if you're falling asleep with your eyes open at the lunch table." There's a playful display of tongue there, directed at Anahita, her ink colouration settling firmly into that playful purple Anahita had praised earlier. :P
There's a light punch to Anahita's shoulder at the question of whom Illithia may or may not fancy. "Wha, you mean Marsi? Naw, I'm not into the ladies." she says, gesticulating animatedly in a dismissive way. "She's a sweet girl though. Got this thing where she's utterly terrified of anyone hearing her voice." Oddly, Anahita may recall that her Life Sense ability almost certainly labeled Illithia's silent companion as being male, counter to Illy's noun and pronoun usage.
Her eyes do flick around the room though, clearly 'checking out' various guys around the eating hall - almost all of them either halflings, or gnomes.
"That guy there is pretty cute." Illy says, apparently having no brakes on this conversation train, as she points out a white-skinned, white-haired gnome heading into the kitchens. "Though I'm guessing a bleachling wouldn't be much fun in the sack."

Lily Svarog |

"Ardiente's earth powers are the product of his non-firebird heritage yes, as his fire powers are the product of his firebird heritage. Because that is apparently what happens when two races that usually breed true breed with each other. Somehow I doubt the rest of you are secretly descended from dragons, so no, I'm sorry Miss Svarog, but that explanation won't hold fire. He is the exception and the rest of you are the rule."
"And he was executed. And revived. Unfortunately we were too late to rescue his parents. The Council broke their own laws that day. I had little respect for them before that and none after. But that is not the point, is it? The point is that you have to accept what is. And that means learning to control your powers. If you never choose to use them after that, then by all means, that's your choice to make. But you cannot ignore them. You could hurt yourself and others. Phaezeriel here would be able to best advise you what classes you will need in order to learn that control. It is not such a bad thing, Miss Svarog. Perhaps even useful if you allow it to be."
"Dragons..." Lily seems to focus on that word, her lip curling into an ever-so-slight sneer at the mention. Agartha hasn't forgotten all the old stories, after all. She doesn't say anything else on the topic though. Maybe she is actually capable of learning.
Lily stands quietly for a long period of time, perhaps considering Sorchan's words. Whatever the case, once the sneer over the dragons is gone, her face remains mostly impassive. "Very well. May we take a recess? I would like to walk while I think on this."

Midori Tsuyomi |

Lang was about to answer Midori when he noticed tarke listening in. Lang blushed a little, worried that his thoughts were broadcast to everyone.
Tarka, you heard all of that?
looking back to Midori, I certainly hope you will not need your weapons, But if there is a monster, I will make sure you have a weapon.
Midori had relaxed slightly at that, wondering if Lang would be able to conjure forth weapons for her with his bending abilities. It didn't matter though, she trusted him, and that was enough.
Midori stands stoically by during the exchange with Blackscales-sensei's husband. At least she understand where the name came from now.
Seeing as how Sen-fa-sama was out of ear shot and the group of children was alone for just a moment, Midori can't help but smile and say: "Is it too late to pretend there is a monster, Lang-kun? That sounds like more fun than--"
Her eyes suddenly widen and she clamps her mouth shut, realizing exactly how horrible and uncaring she had sounded. She was here for Lang, enjoying his hospitality and she had deliberately and directly insult both him and the monks that were hosting them.
She ducks her head in shame, turning to Lang and bowing deeply. "Moushiwake arimasen, Lang-kun. I didn't mean to imply that your hospitality was insufficient, or anything less than wonderful."

Arthur works in relative silence for a few miniutes before saying "shouldn't we move the body to somewhere out of sight? It's kinda destracting, and will probably be several times more destracting for raelle, I'm not saying lie just tell her at a more convenient time, that way she'll have the proper time to grieve and get closure and she'll be able to help, as opposed to trying to bottle it up and being a mess while she tries to work possibly makeing costly errors, or adding the guilt of not being able to help from the pain of loosing a friend"

Rena, the Companion |

"Oh. Um. That's just a regular shoulder bag for you to use. They didn't have any magic stuff on that planet. If Mr. Vare is looking for one of those, they have them in the magic item stocks for loan."
Rena looked at all the assorted stuff Tybalt had dumped out and then opens the bag, seemingly surprised and how much space there was inside. She quickly stuffs the soiled handkerchief into the bag. "Okay, thanks! Let's go find Vare now, David!"
And sadly, as they hurry off, Tybalt's feline ears pick up more from Rena. "Oh, and after we save the day, we should have sex!" she says excitedly, half-admiring David's chiseled features while also trying to focus on hurrying along.
And then, more quietly, beyond Tybalt's range of hearing: "Oh wait, Professor Shiro said that I shouldn't go about it like that..."

Tyrrin Denulia |

Suddenly, Ace remembers something "OH! In all the insanity, I forgot Zilla, who I have not met, was also murdered, according to Keme. I do not believe she's a tiefling, so that throws that theory out the window"
He then sends the following to Michael "Michael. New murder, this time Ginni. Meeting with Tyrrin and Jaiye in my room now, discussing our next move. Lots of dead ends."
I'm just gonna assume Ace shares the circumstances of Zilla's death too, since I can get this meaty post out.
Tyrrin continues her relentless pacing, frowning deeply. She snaps up just in time to see Ace send off a message to Michael. "I'm not sure telling them that the murderer is still active and on the loose will do any good for Kitty." she says distractedly, but then shakes her head and returns to her pacing.
Tyrrin stops suddenly and looks up at Ace, her voice calm and perfectly convinced. "Ginni was a threat." the confidence in her voice wavers slightly. "A threat... or maybe a challenge. Ginni is a skilled enchantress. One of Miss Jones' best students, if I'm not mistaken."

A cruel smile twists across Vai's face, thanking her luck that the one place she needed was still usable for the next minute or two.
With a last, wicked glance aimed at the panicking slaves in the main hall, the elder Vai chuckles at their fate, and vanishes into the Research wing of the facility, eager to see what spoils await her.

David.De'Foul |

Dave nealy runs into a wall at her nonsequiter he pauses trying to process that before shaking his head "we can discuss celebratory sex after we've done what would be celebrated"
dave's views on sex can be found in one of Robert Heinlien's books (I want to say "the cat that walks through walls") namely, "Sex without love is just healthy excercise" (he does think that sex with love is better, but he figures that's to ovbious to actioully give words to.)

"Ace" |

Tyrrin stops suddenly and looks up at Ace, her voice calm and perfectly convinced. "Ginni was a threat." the confidence in her voice wavers slightly. "A threat... or maybe a challenge. Ginni is a skilled enchantress. One of Miss Jones' best students, if I'm not mistaken."
"Ok, I believe her being a challenge. Ginni's always talking about how it would be really bad to touch her mind, even with something benign like a telepathy link. I think she said that makes it easier for her to affect the person with her powers. That said, I am unsure about the threat part. She doesn't have the best control over her abilities after all."

Tybalt Baneko |

On Dave's emotoscope he can feel an intense flurry of emotions. So bright and so fast it's possible he's never sensed anything quite so strong in his time as a wilder. They're so intense and so brief each that in the time it happens, he can't quite place any one emotion in it, they're just so brief, mixing and changing, before he's out of range.
Many of the first flashes were of deep hued colors of surprise, anger. But near the end before it fades from his reach there were brighter tones of good things, trust, happiness, gentle self criticism, even hope being the last mote-speck of color he catches in the fade. This kaleidoscope's voice-like tone, unique to each person he feels, is one he's familiar with: the funny catfolk with the tuxedo pattern fur he's known since day one of Avalon.
In the infirmary ward, Pyry experiences the same, but with a different synthesian sense. A sharp wave of intense cold bites down on the room for a brief moment before fading back up to the room's natural chill, possibly even just slightly warmer than before.
At the epicenter of both of these sits Tybalt, paws placed gently over ten new pin prick holes in the sheet of the infirmary bed beneath him as he looks up at the ceiling, both thinking deeply and not at all simultaneously.

David.De'Foul |

Dave runs into a wall, so overtaken was he by the flurry of emotion what the heck was that?... Wait.. Tybalt? What's going on with him? he briefly considers turning back to see what.'a going on, but shakes his head, deciding to move on and save the poor possessed kid, and notices pain on his face from where he collided with the wall. He checks for injuries, and finds his nose filled with rubble, so he blows the rock out of his nose before checking with the wall and notices that it was already filling back in.
He then looks sheepishly to Rena and continues on his way to the conjuration professor.

Vis Niyambi |

Vis Niyambi wrote:"Aw, now you've done it." She chuckles while Arma makes happy sounding clicks. "She loves praise, but I try not to spoil her too much."
"She's kinda amazing."
vis remains entranced, smiling at the creature. It's reslly amazing.
"Umm.. Sorry?"
he looks from arma to taika, not really sure if that was the right response.
Taika Niyambi |

Taika sits down in front of her desk with a piece of green glass the size and shape of a large marble. She takes out her tools and explains as best she can each step of the process she uses, keeping her few key tricks to herself. She even lets Vis try carving the right marks on the glass, though a round surface is more difficult than paper.
"If we had the time, I'd actually enchant this so it would float around your head and provide light when you wanted it too."

while the first few carvings are far from perfect, vis quickly gets the carvings accurately, taking time on every little detail.
"That's kinda neat. Though, I'd think having a light source floating about your head would get disorientating."while vis's hand is steady, he's not very strong, and each litle carving does take a decent amount of time on it's own.
"Do the carvings do anything on their own?"

Vis Niyambi |

"No, for them to anything you need the right reagents. Kind of like needing ingredients to make good food, I guess. The carvings help the reagents store the energy and keep making it how the creator wanted it to work."
vis nods, and fisnishes the part of the carving he's making, before putting the equipment and glass stone down.

Lang smiles at her, I know what you meant, these things are boring sometimes. I can't say there is or was a monster here, but I did promise something fun, and right now, this probably isn't fun.
Lang has a rather mischievous look in his eye right now as he looks about those present.
looking to Midori, you wanna fly? I have something to show you. looking to grim, you can come to, but you already are a rather skilled flier.

Tilting her head to the side briefly while glancing up and away, at Illithia's initial response, Anahita says, "My perception is that Marsi is male, perhaps there is something to explore there." If there's any sense of tact in this Universe, especially in a High School setting, Anahita lacks (apparently) skill in that. "I am curious to learn more -- Intriguing. As for not being into ladies, I must profess that there's a certain appeal. Like knowing like, again, something worth considering."
Once Illy mentions the Bleachling, however, her attention snaps down and towards the (assuming it's Repp) Halfling in question. There's a study, of sorts, not directly looking right at him, and then Anahita does that 'zoning out' thing, but different this time. She's quiet and unanimated, her expression bland, even if her features never fail to demonstrate their natural beauty.
"i ... no. There is a disconnection there, as I know it. I... hmm." A loss of words, oddly enough. She remains quiet in thought for a few more moments. "Curious. More feeling than thought on that topic."
"Can you explain, beyond the changes in the body due to the age of our peers, why primarily this topic of pleasure is foremost in your mind, and not, say-- the pleasure of casting spells, or exploring the unknown world around us?" She leans in and props her chin on a fist, elbow supporting that, faintly smiling at Illy who falls into her sleepy gaze. Her voice casual on the topic, yet still with that accent born of being a non-Common native speaker.

Piled throughout the large room are weapons, helmets, communication gear, pieces of humanoid body armor...much of it showing signs of distress. Perhaps the Red had some weapons R&D program running on the side in here...
The elder Vai smirks in triumph at her own cleverness. WHile not all of these would be useful, she could salvage parts from various pieces, and rebuild them to even better effect. Immediately she begins to sift through the piled supplies, looking for choice parts to reprurpose.
Early into her salvage opertaion, a frown creases her face. This equipment wasn't that which had fallen into disuse. This was equipment that was damage in combat. Recently. Very recently.
Sabotage. The facility had been sabotage, and the perpatrator was stowing equipment here for some purpose. Which meant they might come back.
Acting quickly, Vai grabs one of the few weapons in the pile which could be of use to her: a sniper slugthrowing rifle in good condition. A quick casting of an invisibility spell, and took a defensible position. She was honestly expecting a small , elite strike team, for the kind of masterwork job this had been thus far.

Fei, of the Sun Soul |

When his Lace politely informed him that only one of the two dragons had fled the facility, Fei's hands (and feet) were a bit full, so to speak...
While he had been able to take out most of the remaining patrols separately, the last three finally managed to figure out that something was wrong, and banded together before arriving at the site of the disturbance.
The young monk's struggle was not in dealing with the number of adversaries so much as keeping them from getting away from him. He had to resort to slightly more violent methods of neutralizing the guards as a result. And while not dead, they were certainly a bit more...worse for wear...than their predecessors. (Being used, quite literally, as makeshift missile weapons to take out one's own compatriots inevitably renders one with contusions and the odd broken bone, alas.)
After running down and knocking out the last two stragglers, Fei quickly surmised his situation. Quickly stripping the guards of their gear, he trussed them up and then tossed them in the second slave pen with their fellows. As he grabbed the first armload of equipment, he did not verify the location of the second dragon...of the other Vai...until he was teleporting into the laboratory, where he immediately dropped his burden when the heat and motion sensors told him he was not alone...

A quick casting of an invisibility spell, and took a defensible position. She was honestly expecting a small , elite strike team, for the kind of masterwork job this had been thus far.
After several tense minutes of waiting, Vai was finally rewarded with a target suddenly appearing in the room by one of the tables.
All she could immediately tell was that it was humanoid and probably male, as it was covered from head to toe in some kind of suit or skein and helmet. In each hand was a frankly ridiculous amount of weapons and other gear (all in a similar condition to what she found when she arrived). Far more than should be comfortably be carried by a normal humanoid, to be sure.
And she was not entirely sure this thing was even a living thing. Right after it appeared it turned its head in her direction and released its haul of goods in one seamless, fluid motion that defied her understanding of most of the lesser races. It then just...stopped. And not turning, but became utterly still. No sway of motion, no twitch of the hands - not even the telltale rise and fall of the chest to indicate breathing. Combined with the utter lack of any sound from the figure (other than when it dropped the equipment), the effect is more than a bit unsettling.
Vai:
Only machines move this precisely, this efficiently, this...succinctly. If that is the case, though, that means that it will fall prey easily enough to her prodigious powers of lightning...
