Ceilidh |

Hello DM Fang Dragon.
Here is a submission of a game I DM'd, to give examples of how I roleplay.
I would like to submit Ceilidh. She is an Occultist Arcanist from Galt. She despises her own country and sees Taldor as a way to enact some sense of reason onto the world's chaos and achieve renown. She is self-taught in her magic, which she is proud of, but also scared of.
"Ceilidh is very against inequality. She has been an outcast and homeless for good portions of her life, so she feels for the underdog, the marginalized. But she feels she's been "accused" of attacks against people and places, with her magic. She worries she's a bit of an unintended terrorist, or will be perceived that way. So she has latched onto a few incidences she's read about that involved real terrorists...elves. Because of her frustration over her own situation, she tends to read the worst in elves and comes across as mildly racist."
"She's brilliant, but a bit of an alcoholic. She can't sleep without a drink. She loves a good cigar but will complain about someone tracking in dirt, or not washing their face. Calculating and thoughtful in her planning, she often doesn't think about what she will say before she says it in conversation."
"Ceilidh's blue eyes are light and mysterious and stark against her bronze skin. Her dark brown hair graces her shoulders. She has a noble posture, almost challenging. A tattoo of an upside-down tree runs down her neck, spreading across her shoulders. It's actually not one tattoo, but hundreds of tiny magical sigil tattoos, forming the image of a tree."
"Ceilidh has an estranged sister, also with magical talent, who always seemed to despise and resent her."
She is planning on continuing to push her natural arcane talents with more self-study (arcanist). She is NG, which I roleplay like this: (Bad actors manipulate a good system to suppress the weak. I may not know you, but I will fight for your equity and rights. To justify you having fewer rights than anyone else is immoral.) I have her built in this profile, but not yet as an Arcanist. This was for a different game where she played a sorcerer/wizard that eventually went Ultimate mage (a 3.5 prestige class combining the two similar to, and better than, the arcanist. But no one lets me play it, lol). The basic premise is there, however. If chosen, I'll whip up the character in HeroLab for you.
She is a character who lacks patience when people are being hurt, is calculating if a bit of a blunderer in social situations, and gets in trouble when she runs her mouth or jumps too quickly to save someone, getting in over her head. Her main motivation is finding safety through acceptance of people around her which she proves by heroic acts. She does not feel she is actually worthy of that.

3d100 ⇒ (45, 40, 95) = 180
45: Your features are subtly malleable, granting you a +2 racial bonus on all Disguise checks.
40: As a full-round action, you can bleed and collect 5 sp worth of precious blood per day.
95: You are flexible and slightly slimy, and thus gain a +2 racial bonus on all Escape Artist checks.
Well 45 seems most appropriate :)
Full crunch to come over the weekend - hopefully.

Thanks everyone for adding BOT ME sections, it's one of those little things that really helps.
@Julia Aubigni Could well be the duel that caught her eye!
@DeathQuaker / Maliah Lotheed, most of book 1 is an urban adventure so build and gear should be fine.
@Patrickthekid "One day he came across a woman who saw through his latest disguise: Martella Lotheed" Sounds like there's a story there, so what happened? :)
@Ceilidh how did your character come to the attention of Lady Martella?
Sorry if I missed anybody! More than happy to answer any questions you might have.

TRAITS
Disgraced Noble: Your noble family used to matter,
until your father took a stand against Maxillar Pythareus,
the commander of Taldor’s military. True or not, the
accusations Pythareus leveled against your family in
return destroyed your reputation and isolated you from
the society you grew up in. Now the only thing that
matters to you is clawing your way back up the social
ladder, either for your own quality of life or to clear your
family’s name. You’ve had to practice deception as you
began working your way back into Taldan social circles;
you gain a +2 trait bonus on Bluff checks to conceal your
identity and a +2 bonus on Linguistics checks to spot
or produce forgeries, and one of these skills is always a
class skill for you. Once each day, you can choose a single
humanoid you believe to have been involved in the
conspiracy to destroy your family; you gain a +1 morale
bonus on attack and damage rolls against that NPC for a
number of rounds equal to your character level. At 10th

--------------------
Special Abilities
--------------------
Sneak Attack
If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
The rogue’s attack deals extra damage anytime her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target. This extra damage is 1d6 at 1st level, and increases by 1d6 every 2 rogue levels thereafter. Ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet. This additional damage is precision damage and is not multiplied on a critical hit.
With a weapon that deals nonlethal damage (such as a sap, unarmed strike, or whip), a rogue can make a sneak attack that deals nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. She cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a sneak attack—not even with the usual –4 penalty.
The rogue must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot. A rogue cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with total concealment.
Trapfinding
A rogue adds 1/2 her level on Perception checks to locate traps and on Disable Device checks (minimum +1). A rogue can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps.
Finesse Training (Ex)
At 1st level, a rogue gains Deft Maneuvers as a bonus feat. In addition, starting at 3rd level, she can select any one weapon group listed under the fighter’s Weapon Training class feature. Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed. Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with a finesse weapon or an agile weapon from this group, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll. If any effect would prevent the rogue from adding her Strength modifier to the damage roll, she does not add her Dexterity modifier. The rogue can select a second weapon group at 11th level and a third at 19th level.
Hmm... here's how it went on the top of my mind.
Journal log
My situation had taken a turn for... I would say unknown waters. Under the guise of Miss Clementine, I had been chatting it up with Martella Lotheed. The woman may have been stripped of her title but she still has the ear of Princess Eutropia herself. When she pulled me in for a private conversation I could hardly contain my excitement. Alas, I seemed to have underestimated the young woman. She not only knew of my original name, but that of several other aliases I had used over the past several months. And yet she decided not to out me. In fact, the lady felt sympathetic for my plight. But of course she wanted a favor from me for keeping things quiet. It is the Taldan way after all. But this task seems reasonable: sway enough votes in order to alter the law of primogeniture to make Eutropia the first queen of Taldor. That is all fine and dandy for me, but the real was a chance to become a noble again. I would have to hope she could hold her word for it, but it has been becoming more difficult to keep my disguises. A noble needs nourishment after all. Most of all, denying that rat-bastard Pythareus a claim to the thrown would be a cup of revenge most satisfying. Yes, this could be the making of a grand return to form for the Le family. I merely need to play my part and everything will go smoothly...

Some of those alts are crazy cool. That 45 is like, okay, but the horns! It would make for awesome rp to have a tiefling mixing it up with the Taldan nobility. Make 'em sweat a little. They wouldn't even notice the halfling in the party. ;)

Ceilidh |

@DM Fang Dragon - Ceilidh fell in with Martella and other outcasts and ne'er-do-wells in Taldor after leaving her own country. She felt more at home with people who also were black sheep, outcasts, provocateurs, and the like. It is possible that she and Martella bonded over a similar style of humor, love of a certain food, or a specific aesthetic of the society they are both now in. It is also possible they just bonded over mead and giggled quite a bit in their "younger" years - which happened a few years ago, lol.

I'm going Vigilante so with malleable features I fully intend to have a very bland and human-looking 'social' form and a full scale 'I'm a succubus, look at me boys!' 'vigilante' form. Should be great fun if I'm chosen!
And halflings are the best at being sneaky. ;)
-----------------------------------------------------
Also DM Fang Dragon, would the Serial Killer archetype be allowed if I keep her social identity at True Neutral and promise not to be a horrendous murder-hobo evil tyrant kind of person? It just seems so fitting for an assassin trained by Nocticula. I realise that's asking for a lot of trust in me as a player so if not no worries, I can do Splintersoul or just not worry about an archetype.

Dorian 'Grey' |

Bond. James Bond...lol.
About Sébastien of The City of a Hundred Fountains Halfling Swashbuckler (Okayo corsair) going into Devoted Muse.
The souring stench of wet towels permeated the smiling halfling's face, as he carried yet another fully ladened basket out of the bathhouse and down the boisterous street to the laundry. Sébastien being only 3' tall had to peer from either side of the pile of dirty laundry just to navigate through the crowded streets. Luckily, the halfling has had plenty of practice dodging and side-stepping those taller and a bit less attentive than he.
Allow the air currents to flow around you as each of these spears fly pass you, Sébastien., the swashbuckler could still hear his father saying. His father, Kaito, was an Okayo corsair. His parents migrated from across the World's Edge mountains from Goka to Taldor just a year prior to Sébastien's birth.
His mother, Ahmya, would just shake her head at her boys, smiling as she gathered flowers for the dinner table.
Life in the small town of Karakuru was pleasant and simple for the Tian-Shu natives. Kaito owned a modest fishing business. The former pirate had 3 boats in his fleet that mostly caught tuna. Ahmya provided a seamstress enterprise that held a modest notoriety in the small town.
Sébastien grew up educated to a lesser degree. The halfling was more interested in the Rondelero School. The budding swordman would watch for hours the students practicing with their falcata's and bucklers. His father would come to drag him by the ear back to the boats where he was expected to contribute.
That way is not for you, my son. They will never allow such as you into their ranks.
Kaito would wisely watch his impressionable son. The older Sébastien became the more his father allowed the eager halfling to practice with his Nine-Ring Broad sword, teaching his (unknowingly to the youth) son the acrobatic martial art that draws inspiration from both the mysticism of monastic combat traditions with the flair of style.
If you master this style, then you will walk dance circles around those of the Rondelero School. Listen to the air. It speaks to us.
Sébastien smiles at the memory. His parents were so proud of him when the student began to perform the dance more easily and properly. They cried when he announced his intentions to travel to Oppara. Having turned of age, Sébastien wanted to see the Capital. His blue eyes having been opened the older he had gotten, the next generation Okayo corsair wanted to become involved in trying to better his country.
Sébastien chuckles at that thought, as the continuous smell of wet towels invade his nostrils.
At this pace, this city will shortly come to recognize Sébastien of The City of a Hundred Fountains!
Entering the locally Tian-Shu owned laundry business, the still smiling halfling wiggles his fingers at the lone shopkeeper folding freshly laundered towels behind the counter. Returning a response by also wiggling her fingers deftly, the smiling Tian-Shu woman continues her chores.
Sébastien proceeds through a ornately crafted curtain, showing the wondrously beautiful skyline of Goka. On the other side of the barrier, the Okayo corsair places the loaded basket onto a table.
Another week of this job and I may become buff.
A musical laugh emerges from a properly dressed Taldane woman seated at another table, placed a bit further inside the back room.
Perhaps, my Sébastien of The City of a Hundred Fountains, you could continue to use those new muscles of yours and place that awful basket outside.
Sébastien smiles and bows to the Lady.
As you wish, Lady Martella Lotheed. I am at your service.
After redepositing the offensive bundle of laundry, the halfling returns to take a seat with Lady Martella.
You were correct, my Lady. That weasel does indeed know where those jewelry thieves reside.
Lady Martella grins.
And just think, when I found you 6 months ago, you were disappointed and disillusioned at what you thought Oppara was. We are doing good works toward breaking the old, rusted chains of tradition, my protégé.
Sébastien nods in agreement.
For which I am most grateful. Although, I do hope that my next assignment does not include obese rich Senators bathing.
Lady Martella grins at the chuckling halfling.
Would a gallant ball do?

Sébastien of The City of a Hund |

This was the section of the PG that stood out for the build, if curious.
Bold emphasis is mine.
Given the nature of the campaign, characters are most
likely Taldan natives from middle- or upper-class
families, but Lady Lotheed may well have recruited
a lower-class PC who came to her attention through
extraordinary circumstances. Young or inexperienced
aristocrats, apprentice merchants, rising celebrities,
students, reformers, guild members, journalists, and
aspiring spies all have reasons to invest themselves in
Oppara’s treacherous political stage. Eutropia has also
gained the support of the Sovereign Court, a secret
society that believes that those entrusted with the power
of a title must be bound to use it wisely and respectfully,
and so Pathfinder agents from all across Avistan and
Garund may find themselves in Taldor to assist her

Torin Argentus |

@DM Fang Dragon: I have updated Torin for submission into the campaign. Ended up being a bit more involved than I initially thought due to switching his base class (Went with unchained monk [scaled fist] since he doesn't have fighter as a gestalt to boost BAB and HP.) and his progression. Since he doesn't have the same draconic flare of dragonheir fighter I changed his progression path to eventually take a dip into sorcerer and then four levels in dragon disciple. Assuming he gets into the campaign and lives that long.
I also had a question for you. If a character included a status line in their posting would that be acceptable rather than having it on the profile? I ask because a monk martial can see that change fairly regularly during the course of a battle, and I'd like to keep it up to date without fiddling with the profile.

Rabscuttle |
Habillus "the Hale" Sabinus - Gentleman Pugilist - NG Human Brawler
Habillus was born to an upper-middle class family - his parents are tailors who designed clothing for some of the minor noble families (as well as other less fancy work) After a somewhat wild and rambunctious childhood, he discovered boxing at school and was able to focus his energy into something with a purpose. It turns out he had a knack for it and with some training he lead his school to several victories in bouts against other schools.
When it came time to learn a trade, he apprenticed with one of the better known barbers in Taldor - and was soon part of preparing various nobles to look their best for public (and private) events. It was in this capacity he first came into contant with Lady Lotheed - at first her interest was merely as a source of information - someone in Habillus's position did have the opportunity to overhear various tidbits of information.
Habillus had continued his interest in boxing and regularly competed in various competitions. He recently had a successful bout against Marbellan "Lanky" Logthorn, breaking Lanky's fifty-plus match undefeated streak, and this has thrust Habillus into the public eye. Lady Lotheed decided to change her plans for Habillus to a more public role.
Habillus strives to be an honorable and upright gentleman. Like many athletes, he follows Kurgess and believes in fair fights and performing good deeds - while most of his fighting has been in the ring, he has on occasion assisted in sorting out barroom brawls and the like. He is proud to be a Taldan, although he disagrees with some of the current policies. He is looking to see if he can use some his sudden fame into changing things for the better.
Habillus is taller than average and broad-shouldered. He dresses smartly, whether he is cutting hair or in the ring. He is well groomed and particularly proud of his broad moustache that he takes care to keep waxed to a point - after all, who would want to trust their hair to a stylist who could keep their own hair neat.

Hey DM Fang Dragon, over the weekend I've been selected into two more games, putting my total at fifteen. While many of those are slow or dying, I don't think adding a third new game quickly would be wise until I settle into a pattern for these two.
Please remove Kunala from the recruitment process.
Thank you for running the game, we players really do appreciate it. Good luck and good gaming to all.

Oh. Sure. Drop the Dandy after I worked not to be in direct competition with you! <grin>
Glad you've had such luck.
I am NOT going to build an entire new submission at this point, though. Sticking with the heavy competition at Bard/Rogue instead.
It feels like there's something wrong with that logic . . ..

Now I know who I need to cheat off of.
@hustonj I would very much consider Torin to be a proper melee.

Miss Price |

This is stormraven, here is my candidate. All her particulars are in her profile.
The short version is:
Naomi Price (stormraven) F Human Inquisitor (Infiltrator & Sanctified Slayer) Campaign Trait: Young Reformer
Originally, Price was built as an Aasimar / Scion of Humanity. I changed her to Human / Dual Talent because it seemed like you preferred human PCs. I'm fine with the build this way but if you preferred Aasimar, I could reconfigure her to Aasimar easily with only a minor change to her non-Campaign Trait.
I built Price in the original version of HeroLab. If you want a copy, I'm happy to share it.
I'll fill in the BOT ME portion if I get accepted into the game.
If you have any questions, let me know! Thanks!

Laurent the Waif |

Please accept Laurent "the Waif" Zalbec, devious wit and blade, for consideration for your upcoming chronicle. I believe his profile contains everything you've requested--mechanics, background, writing samples from previous chronicles, botting instructions--but let me know if I've missed anything and I'll get it to you ASAP.
I've played in one multi-year campaign, and I'm willing and able to commit to another, to the very end. My biggest problem with past long-form campaigns has been character/GM turnover--having the cast of characters change completely in a single dungeon run kills the immersion for me. With all the enthusiasm I see for your game, I feel that won't be a problem anytime soon.
I plan to take bard levels on top of swashbuckler as the campaign goes on. I realize you've had ample bard applicants, but if any campaign is suitable for multiple bards, I feel this one would be. Also, Laurent's mechanically well suited to take levels in an archetype that doesn't step on other bards' feet: Court Bard, for example, which trades Inspire Courage for Satire, which stacks with the former and also really suits Laurent's theme.

Thanks for the submission Laurent!
My pleasure!
May I add a writing sample? You favorited my character Vano Martoff from an application to a Strange Eons game; that seems like a good sign.
