About Torin Brimfisher

Avatar

Attacks:

Falchion +5 attack / 2d4+4 / 18-20 x 2 Critical / Slashing / Melee

Special Notes: While raging the attack increases by one and the damage increases by two.

Hit Points, Hit Dice, and Defenses:

HP:28 (1d12 [maximum @ 1st, 10 @ 2nd] + 2 CON + 1 FC Bonus)

AC:17 (10 base, 3 DEX, 4 Armor)
Flat-footed:14 (10 base, 4 Armor)
Touch:13 (10 base, 3 DEX)

Fortitude:5 (3 base, 2 CON)
Reflex:3 (0 base, 3 DEX)
Will:0 (0 base, 0 WIS)

Special Notes: As a half-elf Torin is immune to magical sleep and receives a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against enchantment spells and effects. While raging Toring receives a +2 bonus to will saves, a -2 penalty to AC, and gains 2 temporary hit points per level. These hit points go away when his rage ends and are not lost first when damaged.

Class Abilities:

Fast Movement (Ex): A barbarian's land speed is faster than the norm for her race by +10 feet. This benefit applies only when she is wearing no armor, light armor, or medium armor, and not carrying a heavy load. Apply this bonus before modifying the barbarian's speed because of any load carried or armor worn. This bonus stacks with any other bonuses to the barbarian's land speed.

Rage (Ex): A barbarian can call upon inner reserves of strength and ferocity, granting her additional combat prowess. Starting at 1st level, a barbarian can rage for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + her Constitution modifier (6 rounds total). At each level after 1st, she can rage for 2 additional rounds. Temporary increases to Constitution, such as those gained from rage and spells like bear's endurance, do not increase the total number of rounds that a barbarian can rage per day. A barbarian can enter rage as a free action. The total number of rounds of rage per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours do not need to be consecutive.

While in rage, a barbarian gains a +4 morale bonus to her Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus on Will saves. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase to Constitution grants the barbarian 2 hit points per Hit Dice, but these disappear when the rage ends and are not lost first like temporary hit points. While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

A barbarian can end her rage as a free action and is fatigued after rage for a number of rounds equal to 2 times the number of rounds spent in the rage. A barbarian cannot enter a new rage while fatigued or exhausted but can otherwise enter rage multiple times during a single encounter or combat. If a barbarian falls unconscious, her rage immediately ends, placing her in peril of death.

Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 2nd level, a barbarian gains the ability to react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She cannot be caught flat-footed, nor does she lose her Dex bonus to AC if the attacker is invisible. She still loses her Dexterity bonus to armor class if immobilized. A barbarian with this ability can still lose her Dexterity bonus to armor class if an opponent successfully uses the feint action against her.

If a barbarian already has uncanny dodge from a different class, she automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below) instead.

Intimidating Glare (Ex) [2nd Level Rage Power]: The barbarian can make an Intimidate check against one adjacent foe as a move action. If the barbarian successfully demoralizes her opponent, the foe is shaken for 1d4 rounds + 1 round for every 5 points by which the barbarian’s check exceeds the DC.

Feats:

Skill Focus (Intimidate) - Torin receives a +3 bonus to Intimidate.

Fast Learner (Human) -When Torin gains a level in a favored class, he gains both +1 hit point and +1 skill rank instead of choosing either one or the other benefit or he can choose an alternate class reward.

Traits:

Buccaneer’s Blood: One of your ancestors was an infamous Free Captain of the Shackles, whose very name struck fear in the hearts of those who sailed the seas in search of an honest living. Piracy is in your blood, whether you know about your ancestor or not. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Intimidate and Profession (pirate) checks and one of these is a class skill for you. In addition, when your ancestry becomes know, you gain a one-time +1 trait bonus to your Disrepute and Infamy scores.

Adopted (World Traveller): Torin was raised by a group of world-travelling pirates after being orphaned. He knows how to speak to people regardless of where they're from. Diplomacy is a class skill for him, and he gets a +1 trait bonus to that skill.

Skills:

8 Total (4 base, 1 INT, 2 Background, 1 FC Bonus)

Acrobatics (DEX): 8(Ranks 2, Mod 3, class skill 3)
Climb (STR): 8(Ranks 2, Mod 3, class skill 3)
Diplomacy (CHA): 7 (Ranks 2,Mod 1, class skill 3, trait 1)
Intimidate(CHA): 10 (Ranks 2, Mod 1 , class skill 3, trait 1, skill focus 3)
Linguistics (INT): 2 (Ranks 1, Mod 1)
Perception (WIS): 7 (Ranks 2, Mod 0, class skill 3, racial +2)
Profession [Pirate] (WIS): 6 (Ranks 2, Mod 0, class skill 3, trait 1)
Swim (STR): 8 (Ranks 2, Mod 3, class skill 3)

Buccaneer's Blood Trait History:

What sailor doesn't know the tale,
of Brimrose Brimfisher.
The female pirate captain,
of whom none were quicker.

Fancy a pretty lad,
a cabin boy elf.
One young and hale,
certainly top shelf.

Twas not her mother,
but the daughter that bade,
"Give me a child handsome."
"One with ears like a blade."

Lay with her daughter,
a dangerous do.
For mother cursed daughter,
her way to lose.

Ferris Brimfisher,
never found port.
Her child and her lover,
lost in a storm.

Brimrose Brimfisher,
bloody ruthless was she.
Never knew friends,
nor family.

Lost in time,
claimed by the sea,
what fate o' Brimfisher
befell thee?

Over a hundred years ago a port side rape led to the birth of one of the most notorious pirates of the day. Brimrose Brimfisher, a slave girl on the high seas, took part in a vicious uprising on the vessel transporting her. The man leading the assault, dead to knife wound to the back, left the slaves with no leader. Not until Brimrose took charge, spilling the guts of a man to challenge her on the deck that very moment. She led the large but mostly unarmed slave galley in an attack on a local slaving den, leading half starved and weary former slaves in a mad assault that sacked the hideout and left them fitted with a schooner used to capture slaves for the trade. Well supplied, and armed with the tools for raiding, she led her crew in further assaults. Always she would leave trade ships, be they slaver or not, burning and awash with the blood of entire crews. The only survivors were handsome young men she would violently torture. Her ship became known as the 'Red Blooded', often still washing the seas red from one victim as it pursued another.

It was many years later when word got out that Brimrose had retired, or died, and many breathed a sigh of relief. Only to find this news was false. Brimrose had been replaced by her daughter Ferris as captain of the red blooded. Meanwhile, Brimrose had built a new ship for herself. This vessel was faster, and had a magical cannon loaded on it's front that could shatter a main mast from a great distance. The ship was aptly called 'The Crippler'. These two ships working in tandem not only devestated shipping, but were able to utterly destroy some of the pursuit sent after them. Bloody Brimrose was a terror of the high seas feared to come calling even to tradesmen at port.

Thankfully, Brimrose was done in by her own twisted ways. Raising her child of rape with cruelty beyond measure had left a child burning for revenge, and not even the strength of The Crippler could save Brimrose from the treachery brought about by her own daughter. Ferris had seduced her elvish cabin boy, and was with his child. She forced her mother into ship to ship combat, and her lover stabbed Brimrose in the back at it's onset to ensure the victory. Now Ferris had the most feared ship in sailing distance, and her love at her side. Alas, Brimrose's true legacy would live on from that point. She cursed her daughter, swearing an oath long since paid for in freely spilt blood. Ferris would never find port again, lost at sea to die with her lover and child. The curse was true, and Ferris sailed for years, constantly fighting off the riggers of sea in her raids. Never able to fully replace crew or supplies. It is said her huband and infant child were lost at sea during a squall, and that the vessal was later seen in a half sunken graveyard of ships.

Appearance:

Torin's spirit shines through just looking at him, energetic and wild. His fair features seem to often sport a slight self-assured smile that extends to his eyes. The left a deep blue like settled water, and the right a sea green. Tousled soft brown hair spills down his head and threaten to block his vision while making him look lop-eared. His body is tall and thin, lithely muscled like a panther, and wrapped in an assortment of custom tailored clothes.

Character History:

Torin is, was, and will always be an overly energetic, mouthy, mutt of a half elf. Inglorious bastard, crazy as the sea, and raised from his first breaths as a pirate. Intelligent enough to learn twice as many foul languages as decent ones, and clever enough to know how to restrain his savagery. He is wildness curbed in wit, as a proper pirate should be. He has a insatiable appetite for combat, the sea, and the life of a pirate. They say he is called 'Gale' for his mouth, but his swiftness across a ships bow mighty blade in hand are another. If you see this knife eared handsome rogue be wary, for he wants what any pirate will...

To explain the character a bit better in terms of roleplay he has grown to be a good sailor/pirate who is able to get on for better or worse with his compatriots. He is light hearted and seems good natured when it suits him. He aims to be daring and reckless when it stands to get him ahead. He has a bit more ambition than most, wanting to excel and maybe end up a pirate lord.

Noble's Outfit:

These clothes are designed specifically to be expensive and gaudy. Precious metals and gems are worked into the clothing. A would-be noble also needs a signet ring and jewelry (worth at least 100 gp) to accessorize this outfit.

The outfit, from top to bottom, is composed as such:

On his head would be a tricorn hat of rich leather embroidered with a sea green and ocean blue pattern of a breaking wave done in shining silk ribbon that is knotted at either end of the brim and allowed to hang out a bit from the knot.
He wears a silk shirt dyed a rick aquatic blue with emerald shirt studs, and over that a waistcoat of supple brown leather with a silver pocket chain. The waistcoat has small ivory knuckle bones used as strap fasteners.
He has a deep ivy green pirate waist sash, tied off on his right hip.
His pants are a mix of two fabrics. Well tailored navy denim pants that cling at the ankles, embroidered with silver thread from his left hip to the top of the thigh with a skull and crossbones.
His boots are a fine and very rich brown leather that go clear up his calves, and are strapped several times on the calf with silver washed brass buckles.
