I'm definitely interested. My former submission of a barbarian probably won't be the best choice if you're looking for range (though I could take the hurling rage powers and just throw random objects, I guess...). I'll probably stick to the concept of an Ulfen who wants to join the guard one day, but maybe a Kineticist, come down from the north and wielding the cold itself as a weapon.
A couple of question:
How are we doing HP?
Do we still need to take a campaign trait, coming in late as we are?
Edit: actually, a barbarian whose ranged attacks consists entirely of throwing random objects sounds kind of fun. Might just lean into that.

I'm interested and had apped in before with a velvet blade. I could probably re-jig her into something more ranged (and overall more combat ready, as I expect I overbuilt the original one for roleplay/social intrigue and verbal dueling). Will follow up with an actual build as soon as I can. (There is also a chance I keep bits of the background but fully rework her into a sorcerer or something.)

Re HP: Full HP for lvl 1, and half plus one for the remainder is fine.
Re campaign traits, yes please use select one campaign trait.
Oh one other thing, your character is one of Martella's Lotheed's agents. She's will have sent you to Meratt county to assist with the party when she discovered that poor Julia was too unwell to continue in her role.
It would be interesting to know how you met Martella and (briefly) what sort of skulduggery she's been keeping you busy with.

Diana Lotheed |

I intend to resubmit Diana as well. Curiously enough, I ended up resubmiting her as well to her previous PbP at about the same point in the story (and Lope took the spot on that one :)). This should help in getting her ready, as I already have part of the work done, altough there are some things I'll have to adjust (here's her previous submission if you want to take a look).
As for how she came to work with Martella, I'll try to expound on it later today, but I'm going with the idea that neither her nor Martella were particularly close until recently. They started working together after Martella set up a meeting with Diana's group to ask for their support, and that's when they found out about what each one was doing. With Diana recently coming back from one of her trips, Martella figured she would be an excellent choice to aid the party in their current mission with the Lotheeds.

Here is my submission: Naliah Lotheed
I switched from velvet blade archetype to sniper; that way she can serve this particular party's needs much better. Similar, but streamlined background, to my prior submission; in the original version I'd already suggested she'd gotten the attention of her cousin Martella after she killed her (corrupt and very bad) father, so I just added on to that and said she's been working for her as an information gatherer and, as needed, assassin. I left it somewhat vague only so if she gets in, we can discuss what's appropriate for her to know and not know. I didn't want to metagame in determining what her role has been so far.

Diana Lotheed |

I've updated Diana to level 5, and added two additional story blocks, one describing her first "business" meeting with Martella, and another with my idea on how to justify Diana coming along with the party to the Betony estate instead of staying with the Lotheeds at the Palace of Birdsong. Let me know if there's anything you want changed or with more details.
I did forget to ask how you wanted to handle item creation feats with regards to starting equipment. My equipment reflects an increase of 25% WBL for having one, but I can drop the necessary items to be at normal WBL if you'd prefer.

I know that I shouldn't...but this is speaking to me...
Arrow Champion
I would need to do some reading and research, so probably nothing concrete until over the weekend....

I know you were looking for ranged but I have a front liner I'd like to put out there as an option for you, St. John Smythe. I can tie his background in a little more by coming to the attention of one of the leaders through his dueling and possibly a romantic attachment to a relative of that person. I have tied him in that way before.

DM Fang Dragon |

Mmm intriguing, would be good to know what sort of politics St. John Smythe would have. Also Dorian an Arrow Champion is an interesting archetype, I don't think I've seen before. I wonder how Archer’s Feint works out in practice, it seems on round 1 you're setting up for a single more powerful melee attack on round 2.

If I remember correctly the party has a patron. His dueling brought him to her attention. He was introduced to a relative of hers and they fell in love. His family, while noble, isn't important enough and she is locked into a marriage with someone she doesn't want to marry. St. John is fighting so women don't have to put up with this anymore. He also believes in simplifying the laws and making government work more efficiently so the nation regains more of it's past prosperity.

I present to you Esinti Venquesti. He's a Sylph fighter who uses the rope dart and other than that, doesn't have a whole lot of 'crunch' to him. If the sylph is an issue, he'll be a human or half-elf instead. I only went for it because it fits the theme.
Other than gear and one feat, this should pretty much be 'it'.

Once per day, you can channel this wind into a single gust, making a bull rush or trip combat maneuver attempt against one creature within 30 feet. Whether or not the attempt succeeds, the winds are exhausted and no longer provide a bonus to the sylph’s AC for 24 hours.

I kept the background relatively simple for now. I've perused the gameplay thread but haven't had the time yet to sink my teeth into it. I'd like to add some proper hooks to it, but I must get more acquainted with the story thus far. I hope that isn't an issue. I have *not* played the AP past book 1 before.
Certain things can be expanded on, such as his group of friends being rather artsy and liberal, his father having ties with certain Taldan figures (both good and bad), and so on.
The son of a retired Taldan sellsword and a half-Qadiran half-Taldan poet, Esinti knows what it is like to be an outsider. He's a recent arrival to Oppara, having lived in the city only for a couple of years now, but the city's reluctance to call Esinti one of its own has made itself apparent again and again. He was good enough to wield a sword or spear for a rich Taldan merchant or noble in need of an escort, but not good enough to find permanent employment.
This doom and gloom was turned on its head when an inebriated Paulo, a close friend of Esinti, suggested to him during a night of heavy drinking that perhaps he ought to lean into his roots and wear it like a theatric costume, an elaborate outfit so carefully pieced together that it simply has to be an act, right?! They were all deep in their cups, but this genuine moment of genius got all of them to shut up. Liliana then suggested he embrace the Qadiran custom of wearing a 'shemagh': a headscarf that can cover the head and face. More ideas followed, of which only a few were sensible, and this was the start of his performative career as a made-up half-Taldan half-Qadiran hero of old who could command the winds. A combination of acrobatics, dancing, swordplay, and fancy tricks with a rope dagger like putting out candles and knocking arrows out of the sky, Esenti found that his act opened doors that had remained closed to him for so long.
Pale soft cheeks that refuse the sun's kiss add a certain softness to a square face that makes people wonder whether Esinti is a man or a woman. A pair of piercing grey eyes tend to study the world around the man with curiosity. The fact he uses Qadiran makeup to darken his eyes for his act only further adds to the mystery, and Esinti enjoys leaning into it. He usually lets his hair grow out, and either puts it into a braid or a topknot depending on whether he's working or not. Hours of daily practice have turned his body limber and lean, and it's something Esinti prides himself on. A handful of discolorations and scars on his hands, arms, and legs hint at his profession and that it's not just an act, but when coin permits it, Esinti tries to limit the acquisition of new ones.
He is of slightly above average height, but it's easy to think he's somewhat shorter because of his narrow sylph frame. Perhaps this further emphasizes his androgynous looks, but Esinti doesn't care.
Prone to mood swings, Esinti can feel as unpredictable as the wind. He's both driven and ambitious when he believes in what he's doing, but has trouble giving it his all when his heart isn't in it. Even though he's a performer, Esinti is ill at ease being the center of attention, and he much prefers sharing a carafe of wine with friends over a big fancy ball at a noble's estate, let alone performing at said ball. Putting on his outfit helps him to disassociate, and in a sense, he is a somewhat different person when he is Esinti of the Four Winds.
He loves to make merry, is crazy about music, and has a soft spot for birds. Cats and dogs are great, but perhaps it's something about his blood that makes him relate more to the little winged ones.
He abhors senseless violence, dislikes wasting good food and drinks, and cannot stand racism. In a world so vast and wonderful, there is joy to be found in one another, and what fool would deny himself this? Not Esinti. He likes all sexes, but so far has found himself unable to maintain a relationship.
