At Alchemist level 7, Triphylla could, I believe, get to be totally unbalanced, with Beast Shape for the Smilodon, on top of all of her other mutagen/extract/barbarian insanity. The animals available cover a lot of abilities from flight to darkvision to combat maneuvers, etc. Maybe it's too much although it probably depends on how I play it. I dunno. Thoughts?

Don't know, APs are strange, you can be walking over the whole adventure with ease and suddenly find an impossible encounter that destroys the whole party unless you have some strong combatants around. I think it is always good to have strong options and not use it to stay on par until it is needed a good flash of power :)

From my pov, I'll try to scale encounters so they're not too easy/hard so it's up to you how you build your characters as long as they follow the rules.

We're very close to finishing book 3, I was always intending to finish after book 4. Right now we have 3 active players so I wanted to get some feedback on the possible next steps:
1) Proceed as planned into a modified book 4, and open up recruitment for 1-2 players. (Note I'm not kicking anyone out, but Diana hasn't posted in ages and Valeria's posting is not frequent. Their characters will just fade to black for now unless they start posting regularly again).
2) Skip most of book 4 and head for an epic verbal battle with Pytharus.
3) Work on a narrative ending and effectively call it after this battle.
4) Something else I've not considered.

I would love to go into book 4, but I totally understand, recruiting a couple more people at this point rarely works out as planned. It is rare for new players to engage with the party and the adventure at this point.
Other than that, if you feel you prefer to call for an end, working into a narrative end is the best option.

My read on Command, Greater is that it is still limited to the same small set of actions as Command.

I thought that was a fun encounter. It exposed our weakness. Valeria saved our bacon this time but it would be great to recruit another full caster. We should also be looking for alternative ways to cast Dispel Magic.

Yeah, Valeria really isn't a great damaging caster, she is far better at debuffs.

There's a few things you can do:
1) Make a report to the council, or at least the Chief Enumerator - he was the one most interested in the cult
2) Any last minute business in Yanmass
3) Head on back to Oppara (and book 4)

I still quite enjoy the game actually. It is true it goes slow, but I myself have a hard time to post everyday the way I did before since I became a father. If it helps you, I am happy to have a few posts per week pace.
These past couple of weeks have been specially hectic though to me, so don't take that as the average.
