I'm gonna save that one for next time seeing how it was pretty much all for naught. Don't want to waste it. :)

Sadly, I hate rolling on playing characters. It feels too much like PVP. I always thought the skills were for dealing with NPC's and the characters should work things out the old-fashioned way. Also, to be completely honest, since I type out a lot of his thoughts, you have as good an idea as I do. I'm just making this stuff up as I go along...

Edit: Sorry, if that came off sounding Jerkish. Feel free to read Elthras' backstory and such. I'm happy if Elena comes up with her own conclusions. We can RP it out in game.

Ah. After reading the bit about his appearance, it makes sense.

That said if there ever is a point you, or anyone, simply wants Elena to stop talking to you and focus only on the main story, let me know and I'll accomodate such.

I've been really enjoying Elena's personality, it makes me think about Elathras more, which is good.

One of the problems I have with starting at 'higher' levels' is I tend to develop part of the personality through RP. I'll set certain personality traits, habits and quirks at first level, but a lot of how my characters develop is based on who and how they interact with in lower levels. So, starting at 5th level Elathras was still very two dimensional, so Elena's prodding has caused me to develop him.

BOOM! Nice rolling there, team! I REALLY think you all dropped all three. With 17 and 17 and the 22 damage total from Axton's scorching ray! and his rat buddy, ('Bout time that scorching ray finally came through for you, bud) ;) I'm thinking they're all dead.

Man, that's pretty cool to be that efficient. I sure hate to waste that bit of luck though.

UNLESS, the "redshirts" are all dead and I can charge. If I can charge, then she'll charge the leader guy. He's only like 50' away.

Thanks, we try :)

I must apologize, I didn't include Umazura inspiring rage, I need to pay better attention to the parts of the posts that aren't speech.

So, if you charge you have to go between Bharak and Elathras, is there enough room to get past Elena?

I think we have taken down the four bodyguards, but we still have Daghop to contend with. He's probably the red boggard on the map.

But thanks! It's nice to have an enemy not immune or has DR to fire.

Hey, no worries. I'm fairly certain 17 damage is enough to drop the thing anyway.

As far as charging, I don't know. That's a good question.

You know, looking at it, I don't think so. When I went back to check out the map I'm like: "Aw crap. Not enough room."

So, I'd have to say "no" to that. Unless you can charge through friendlies. That'd be the only way.

Are you sure you want to do that?

Steel & spell easily deal with the the remaining loyalists. Daghop rages and hurtles forward to attack you.

He charges Elthras and unleashes his terrifying croak when he is in range of the party.

I think you get an AOO don't you Elthras? He has to close with you.

Will save DC13 again or shaken for 1d4 round.

The party may now act, he moved and then croaked. :)

Considering Elthras & Axton just did 49 points of damage to someone with 52hp I think the fight will finish very shortly.

From here you'll be moving into the tunnels under the Lady's light. Which the module says is where you should be level 6.

So get your level ups prepared now folks.

@Elathas, No, that was just a generic statement regarding how the fight went. Axton scored a crit, everyone kept rolling well and presumably hitting, and no one was injured. I specified the two of you since you had already taken your turns this round which left Bharak and Uma as buffing targets. I know it was allowed earlier to do bit of luck retroactively, but i try to avoid that when I can.

Choices, choices. The healer/support build would go for a level of oracle here. The skill focused evangelist would go cleric one more level before jumping into the prestige class and the straight cleric summoner would stay straightforward.

I'm a bit unsure on where to take Elena beyond her current healer/summoner build. Do we need more skills? Fo we need a better healer with access to fortune and misfortune for repeatsble reactive roll interaction at the cost of a caster level?

Hm...

I guess the real question is: Would Shelyn expect or appreciate one of her most loyal followers absconded by other gods and turned into their oracle...'

It feels like Elena is a three-dimensional character already. Don't change your plans for her just to make her more 'crunchy.' If you see her destiny as struggling between being a cleric of Shelyn with being an Oracle of a group of gods, then go for it. If you're just doing it to have the numbers to make the group more efficient, then skip it and stick with Cleric.

If i were to go part oracle, it'd storywise probably revolve around being cursed bij the Thassilonean statue of the runrlord Bharak broke and Elena then fixed. A mixed blessing of sorts rather than worshipping multiple gods.

+1 level 2 and level 3 spellslot

Luck domain ability, reroll one d20 per day after rolling it (self-only)

Skills (with FCB +1, +2 background = 9): +1 perception, +2 diplomacy, +1 planes, +1 heal. +1 knowledge: history, +1 perform: dance, +2 profession: painter).

Going to decide between going into item crafting feats (if we use those) or the evangelist prestige class next level.

Old Zealand, or Zeeland in Dutch, is a province here in the Netherlands. Hard to believe now perhaps, but we were a major naval power back in the days.

Abel Tasman, the famous Dutch explorer was the first European to discover Australia and New Zealand. Gave his name to the island of Tasmania and the Tasman sea between our two countries.

Ok, apparently we dealt with the boggards off-screen if we want to, do we kill them or leave them be?

Sadly, since Elathras is a Disciple of the Pike, my vote would be to physically remove the evil threat. Then return to the Troglodytes village, tell them the Boggards are gone and use their tunnel.

Given what we've seen of them Elena would support the boggard extermination. There seems to be no other way to keep the troglodytes safe and they show some promise of beeing redeemable. That aside I would be in favor of visiting the hydra den for the sake of completion and that we dont seem to have a time limit. Also, treasure! (?)

Axton supports the need to wipe out the boggards. He's not interested in the hydra since it just slows down their progression to their true target, the next shard, but he's not going to be too upset if they need to test their might against it.

Every GM does something different for HP, it seems, and I can't remember for each campaign.

HP: 1d6 ⇒ 2 <-- So... four.

Axton is finally levelled up. As I mentioned up thread, he's learned fireball. Apologies in advance to our melee.

He picked up a new cantrip, too, which was a far harder decision. Arcane mark.

Finally, does he have access to these spells immediately, or do we need to rest first?

Are you sure you want to do that?

Rest first.

I'll put up the loot list for the Boggard village tomorrow.

The book is pretty blunt that the Troglodytes are your best choice for the spice trade. They've taken heavy losses and have worked out that being Demon worshipping s@&!s isn't working out too well from them. Maybe it's time for them to try something different?
