@Elathras My apologies, reading that now I remember him calling out the water thing when we discussed that IC earlier as well. In my defense, that's been weeks in real life, and between different PBP's I tend to forget things at times. I'll play it here as though Elena is more worried getting chunks of devil from her clothes than she is worried about having to oil her chain shirt.
Plus, I guess, she was used to leather and only has had said chainshirt for like, three days.
Please don't apologize, I was just spit balling off of what you said. Sometimes the majority of my posts is just mentally or verbally responding to what other say or do.

Trying not to think about the time he would need to spend crying and cleaning his armor, he nods towards the final door.
Lol! Dude, don't cry. The armor will be fine. Trust me. It's okay, buddy, it's okay. Lol!
Sorry, couldn't resist. Plus I'm a bit curious if you actually meant crying or possibly meant "drying". I'm not sure.

I found that mental image hilarious, too. Definitely one of the better typo's I've seen :)

At this, the priestess laughs. "An armor underneath another set of armor - and not just any, but fullplate, at that! Not sure if I'm more impressed or amused. Just know that I'll be expecting a glaive inside your glaive from now on too."
I decided the parade armor is sort of like the 'regular' uniform. That way he has something protective to wear while he sleeps. The actual plate armor would strap on over it.
GM_DBH if it's not ok that he wear the armor under, he can carry it in his pack.

*So, somewhat embarassingly, I found out that during the creation of a life shaman for the Cotct campaign, Elena has an illegal element to her build. Her level 1 feat, selective channel, required 13 cha and Elena's cha is 12. It was removed in the video game adaptations of pathfinder but that's no real excuse. Honestly, I'd simply forgotten that was a thing. On the flip side, she never once channeled in combat so I don't think it impacted the campaign at all.
We could go with that her level 1 feat was always healer's hands, as her plan was always to take incredible healer at level 5. Or, alternatively, leave it and she'll take sacred summons at level 5 for now. Just let me know what you'd prefer, @DBH.

Boring book keeping stuff:
I updated the loot list. The total sell value of items we have now is 6064 gp, if we include Elena's 1000 gp sketch. I assume we want to keep the +1 ranseur in the group as well as all the magical potions and scrolls except the animate dead one.
That'd be around 1212 gp each if we split it evenly.
One question on my end: the last time we were able to shop, the loot was 4200-ish gp. That was when Elthras joined, before we went back into the dungeon. I calculated everyone's share then as if Elathras got a share though he wasn't in the dungeons we found that loot in; did he add that share to his sheet? If not. that would add around 200 gold to Bharak, Elena, Uma and Axton. I don't mind much either way though it'd be good to know.
One other question on my end: I'd like to request, if we return, if Elena could have 2500 g of the current treasure to buy a gloves of the healer. As such she'd borrow some money from the others to buy it now. Reason being is that Increadible healer needs to hit a DC 20 heal check in combat to activate, and her heal bonus without is +13 and thus somewhat unrealiable. Plus, it simply adds 5 points of healing to each use of it. Is anyone open to having her borrow that and having her skip the similar amount of gold later?
| Elathras Narcinal |

I'm good with Elathras not getting a cut for this split. Also, I'm not insistent on keeping the Ranseur, Elathras has a MW polearm, so if someone needs the cash that's fine too.

I see helping her heal as being like buying a party wand of CLW. It should come out of the party fund for that reason
Elena Neidhardt
|
All right, thanks both. If Elathras skips his cut here it's around 1516 gp for the other four. Elena would need 1k gold more to buy the healer gloves which would let her burst heal reliably. If everyone agrees to pay that missing 1 k out of the party funds that would leave 1183 g each for Axton, Uma and Bharak this round.
Again, I don't mind paying the 1k back to the party later should anyone wish that.
@DBH Would you allow something like a channeling pendant be sold as a masterwork tool for heal, which would add +2 to the heal skill only when used through the healer's hands feat?
| Javell DeLeon |
You never know when those nozy teammates start asking the uncomfortable questions about your character's life choices. Screw them, I'd say! :P How dare they show interest! :) That said, that was a good story.
Lol!
And thank you. I did have fun writing it. :)
1d8 ⇒ 8 HA! Awesome. And I believe it's actually "Roll for hp's" and if you don't at least roll equal to half+1 then it's half+1. I'm fairly certain that's how we've been doing it because Uma has a couple of 5's and those are the lowest rolls she has.
Just throwing it out there for future reference seeing how everyone rolled awesomely this time. That's, of course, if I'm right. :P
| Axton Vendian |
I had a busy weekend (and Monday), so I need to catch up, but I'll say that I'm absolutely fine with healing items being bought from a party fund.
So, Axton gets 1183 gp? Confirm?
And here's my HP roll:
1d6 ⇒ 1
4 HP it is!
| GM_DBH |
@Elena. Yes to something like a Channeling pendant being a boost to the heal skill. A Healers Pendant that adds +2 as it calms the healer and lets them focus on healing the wounded person. Sells for 400gp.
Hit points are always roll and if no good take the average in my games.
Everybody ready to go? This level is now safe to rest and recover spells in.
| Bharak Slagsun |
So the plan is to head back, stow away our gear we can’t swim in, and come back rested, right?
1183 gp + 245 gp = 1428 gold total
Wooden armor with armored kilt to swim in (40 gold)
Trident to fight underwater and maybe throw later (15 gold)
+1 Buckler (1155 gold)
218 gold left
So when swimming he will be -0 ACP and will stay at AC 19/12/18. After we finish swimming and go back for our real armor, it will go up to 22/12/21.
Elena Neidhardt
|
I guess if we're so inclined, we could spend most/all of the additional 2000 g sheila just gave us towards purchasing a bag of holding. That would allow us to stow the water-sensitive material and make carrying gear in general easier. Perhaps that way, all five of us can go underwater? Elena would use her share to grap the channeling pendant to add 2 more to her heal skill for more in combat healing, though that costs 400 g and leaves us at 1600/2500 for the bag.
...Oh! I forgot! @DBH, what does the mite give us when we return the bracers of armor to him? He promised a fairly large diamond I believe? He's on the way to the exit so we'd probably drop by him en route to the city. If it sells for a lot that'd be quite useful. Though bracers of armor 2 by themselves are also worth 4000/2 gp I believe?
Elena Neidhardt
|
Great. That's 2000 g extra to spend on stuff uless Axton needs the bracer of armor +2 I believe?
Combining both would mean the party has 3600 gold to spend on things additionally to the earlier number. Enough to buy a bag of holding and 1100 gold leftover or such, to make a suggestion.
| GM_DBH |
Good memory.
Whether or not the PCs wish to undertake this “quest” or not, King Zuuga won’t remember sending them on the quest when they return—instead demanding that his imaginary “executioner squad” behead the interlopers and take from them his spare crown.
It should go without saying that King Zuuga doesn’t actually own a head-sized diamond.
You now have a set of Bracers of armor +2.

Regarding the loot list, the comments seem contradictory to me. There's a note that says, "All Items listed here are still in inventory." But I can see some items on the list that I know have been sold.
Specifically, I want to know if that Pendant of the Souk is still in our inventory. If it's been sold, great; if not, Axton will wear it until a better neck slot item comes along.
Elena Neidhardt
|
Which items have been sold earlier, then? I removed a lot of treasure, notes of gold pieces and some items i knew were sold so the list is already shortenend. You mean the common items? it might be that the armors and such we took were calcated into the sell price earlier, but going by my own shopping back then and doing some quick math the treasure and items i removed added up to the gold count we were working with back then.
While selling major things like the mw rapier, the magic scarf and such was briefly talked about i dont think it was ever done. For the pendant of the Souk, did we ever even get a price estimate for that?
Actually... it might be that the items from out very first trip, after saving Natalya, were not removed perhaps. I'd have to check that when there is time. Or feel free to do it in my stead and help out? :)
Elena Neidhardt
|
Anyway, we could recheck it later, it's probably not off by that big of a margin. Should I forward the scene back to the underwater hatch with preparations having been made? Or does someone still want to do something in the city?
From the extra rewards we'd have 3600 extra gold total between the five of us in addition to the 1183 everyone gets from the share. Perhaps we could do the buying in flashbacks otherwise?
| Javell DeLeon |
Man it's probably going to be the weekend before I can get Uma leveled up. Hard for me to do during the week with work and all.
Will try here and there during the week but I don't see me getting it done until the weekend.
But there's no need to hold up for that. She can go as-is until I finally get her leveled. It's all good. I've done it before. :P
| Bharak Slagsun |
Rather than spend money on armor that will never be used again, instead buying armor ointment and a potion of air bubble.
-1 ACP (+2 swim) and 1 minute of underwater breathing in a pinch. Good enough to swim in! Will get a post up soon

FYI, my intent is to buy a wand of ear-piercing scream when I get a chance. Probably only at 25 charges.
Or feel free to do it in my stead and help out? :)
That is a completely reasonable thing to ask, but I honestly have no idea when I'll have the time to audit our loot.
I won't worry about the pendant, in this case.

It's okay, i went back and checked it.
You're right, we did 'sell' the pendant of the Souk, I think. Not for gold, but for:
"The Princess of the market won't give you 500gp if you return the Amulet. She gives you something better. :)
Since it's a minor event I'll tell you now that she gives the party badges that give you a 10% discount on all purchases in the market.
@DBH was there a limit on the price of items for the 10% discount?
Because if not, all our items and purchases were actually 10% cheaper! Which is pretty amazing. It would give Bharak Axton and Uma 83 extra gold immediately too as Elena would only need 750 to buy the healer's gloves.
And if there was no purchase limit to the discount, that'd also mean we overspent last time we bought things... like 80 or so gold for Elena.
On the other non-consumable common items on the list, I have no clue if they were sold. It matters very little I think, like 100 g in total? Tempted to say we sell them and add 20 g to everyone or such so the list is mostly empty if that is agreeable.
| Javell DeLeon |
Sell it all. Works for me.
@Elena: Just take whatever gold you need out of Uma's share. It's fine. To be honest, I've lost track of how much gold we're each suppose to get anyway and have nothing to spend it on as far as that goes.
And I'm not concerned with paying it back either. To be flat out frank: I just don't care. Not that big of a deal to me. :)
It all works itself out in the wash as far as I'm concerned. And if it doesn't? *shrugs* Oh well. :)
If you think about it, though, you getting those gloves helps us ALL out in the long run. I think that's worth it. :)

One final question for Bharak and Uma (and Axton) here: to which degree do you want to help buying the healer gloves as you two of you said things like that it should come out of the party funds like the cure wands? As in, Equal shares? Does Axton Weigh in too ? I was in the middle of making a final tally of sorts for future reference when I realised the situation had kind of changed since the first post.
Originally, I thought we had 6064 g total but we got 4000 extra from the bracers and as a reward from Sheila for exploring.
If Elathras passes his share on that too, everyone would have 2316 g before we spend anything. Sharing the gloves among everyone equally would be 562 g each. I suppose it matters to the degree that it would allow Elena to buy the +2 masterwork tool for 400 g and a cloak of resistance plus some defensive scrolls from what remains of her share.
Also: +1 on the baldur's gate references :)
| Axton Vendian |
Okay my shopping is done.
wand of ear piercing scream at half charge = 337 gp 5 sp
Familiar satchel = 22 gp 5 sp
Cork plugs for familiar satchel airholes = 6 cp
Total = 360 gp 6 p
Elena Neidhardt
|
@Axton One question on my part, do you wish to join in paying for the gloves of the healer too? For larger and more reliable heals from Elena. They cost 562 g spread evenly across the four of us (Elthras passed his share this time so he cannot join in). Everyone except Elathras has 2516 gold to spend if we add the extra reward gold from sheila to these piles as well as the gold from selling the bracers of armor. I don't mind either way but I want to be able to put the shopping behind me too, and I don't know what I have to spend.
Assuming the gloves are spread evenly then among the four of us, and Elthras passes on the gold from the reward from Sheila here, edited later if needed:
2516 gold each:
-Gloves of the healer - shared cost of 562 g.
-Channeling pendant (MW heal tool, increases healing by incredible healer by 2) - 400 g.
-Cloak of resistance +1: 900 g.
-1862 g.
-Left: 654 g.
-Suggested party sell: Mw Silver dagger for 175 g.
-Buy scroll of breath of life for 820 g.
Left: 9 g.

I'm fine with either. This is going to sound grumpy, but tracking wealth and gear is the least engaging part of ttrpgs for me, so I take any shortcuts I can take regarding that. If that means I get 900 gp instead of 1,000 gp, that's totally fine.
It makes total sense to me that a healer buy stuff that benefits the entire party out of earned loot before the rest of the loot is distributed. But you could also make that argument for a front-liner's axe or the wizard's spell components. *shrug* However it plays out, I'm fine.
| Javell DeLeon |
I haven't been looking at the list, did you let elathras keep the magical polearm?
Fine with me. If it's useful for you, take it. Whatever helps the party.
I'm all for chipping in for the gloves.
1954 is what's left over. This is simply for me to remember. :)
What are these 'bracers' we keep talking about? I don't remember those.
| Bharak Slagsun |
I have 261 gold left. I can chip that in
Elena Neidhardt
|
All right, thanks for the support and the answers, all.
@Elathras You have the magical polearm yes, as javell noted. I'm a bit hesitant to sell useful magical items, especially weapons made of special materials when we don't have that many magical weapons in the group. In fact I think yours is the only one we can use/equip.
As a side note if anyone wants to take something from the items still in the pool, which is encouraged!, please put a note in on the sheet that you have it. I'd like to not have to keep track of everyone's equipped gear by myself if it can be helped :')
@Bharak just in case, for clarity, the number of 1516 gold I gave earlier turned out to be too low. It should be 2516. So you have +1000 gold if you didn't spend it yet on anything else. That's because we gained 4000 gold in the city I didn't know of when I first calculated it.
@Javell We got a +2 bracers of armor from returning the second bracer to the megalomaniac mite. His pet crap had it, we killed it. Though this event took place in discussion here, off screen, on the way back to the city. So it's not odd that you don't remember it. I believe Axton wasn't that interested in them when they first came up and has a wand of mage armor on the side so I assumed they'd be sold for 2000 g.
@Axton Yeah, I get that. Not my favorite part either. However I do think it's important to at least somewhat accurately keep track of things. The sooner it's done the sooner we can get back to adventuring! Would having 2516 g instead of 1516 g change anything in your purchases? As again the number I originally gave was too low.
All right, I think that's everything and I'll shut up now as all matters on money and stuff are handled :) Now back to underwater explorations!
