Looking over the rules and I think we have been doing shooting wrong. You can still use your gun more than once per turn. But take the multi-action penalty. ROF only counts number of shots per action used, not round.

Also, not an issue yet but the difference in Double action and single action. Double action allows the use of the Double tap edge. Single action allows you to use fan the hammer. If you have them, those are the types you need to use them.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

so what you are saying, is that with a ROF of 1, I can shoot 1 bullet per action, or is it 1 extra bullet per action before I get into multi action?

Shooting multiple bullets per action requires either double tap or fan the hammer dependent on type of firearm ?

And two gun kid allows double tap or fan the hammer with 2 firearms ?
Although, I am wondering where the extra hands are coming from to slip fire the single actions. :)

Just trying to get this straight in my mind.

EDIT:
Curiosity has me wondering if a Telescopic sight would work right now.

Okay, ROF 1 means that for a single action you can use 1 bullet. So as everything but Gattling weapons as an ROF of 1 that means normally you can only use one Bullet per action.

Meaning you can fire three times per turn with a single weapon, if you use multiaction ( /-2/-4).

Double tap and fan the hammer are edges which override the ROF limits. each has its own rules, and only works in deadlands with a set type of gun.

Double tap you need a double action pistol to use it. But really it does not make two attack, it makes one with extra damage, but uses two Bullets.

Fan the hammer you need a single action pistol to use it. It is a single action, but allows you to roll up to six shoot with that single action.

Two gun Kid itself does not use either of those edges. But you can take them with it. Two gun kid does allow you to take less a penalty with that second action. So in place of 0/-2/-4 you are 0/0/-2 if you are using two weapons. Meaning you shoot one with each gun with zero issue and a 2nd time with one gun with just a -2. Really its an ammo saver too.

You can combine fan the hammer or double tap with two gun kid as they all do different things.

A scope takes away two points of penalty with the aim action

Thank you for the explanation. I appreciate it.

Hey guys I lost my internet sometime between posting on here and trying to post in thread last night. I just got home and it's still down. My wife said they told her it should be up tommorow sometime, they don't get in much hurry as my options are them or dial up.

I don't wanna update on the phone but if it's not up by tomorrow night I will give it a shot.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Should be back to normal posting now. I am killed right now but will update when I get up.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Sorry guys, I got something dumped on me this morning( well morning for me) so did not get the update done until just now.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

no worries.
Appreciate the notification, but I know that RL should always come first.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Trying to get it back to once a day, but I get home so late RN and are sometimes pretty killed.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

I can understand being tired.

But man, being killed daily must suck. :)

Just how many lives do you have. ;)

JK. But I do know the feeling of being really tired.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Its the resurrecting that hurts more really, you get super stiff being dead. They never tell you the resurrecting will hurt, but no pretty lights, no music, just "surprise b~*~* pain!".

1 star, do not recommend.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

Lol.

Myself, I usually feel like I have a knife stuck in the L4/L5 on a daily basis.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Mine Is L3/L4, that sciatic never is a real b!#&+. Its like your hip and leg also hate you, but its really just your back being an extra special a*$*$@#. Poor design all round

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

I live that feeling every day, since I had the spine operated on.

They damaged the sciatica, when the moved it, and now scar tissue rubs against it.

So yes, hip and leg hate me (pins and needles) and the back as well. but at least I can walk upright like a human, and not hunched over like a Neanderthal.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

I have not had to have Surgery yet, Mines pinched between the L3/L4. Not a whole lot of options for fixing it that might not make it worse. But like you, the pain is better than being hunched over, gods that suuuuucked. I get the pins and needles, and my leg likes to go to sleep and I get the ultra fun shocks. But eh, bets the other options right?

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

Trust me that it does.
Hope that they don't have to operate, because sometimes it is worse than the current feeling.

When they worked on the inside of the spinal column, the odds that they gave me.

0-20% - no pain and everything works out.
20-70% - everything works out, but you will have pain for the rest of your life. (Got this one.)
70-95%- something goes wrong and you don't feel your legs at the end of the surgery.
95-100% - You don't wake up from the surgery.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

Different issue, but didn't want to clog up the gameplay with it.

I just want to confirm, the TN for most tasks is 4.
A raise is if I beat that by 5 ?
Additional raises are in increments of 5 ?

If shooting, does a raise also adds 1 dice of the type for the gun
Example most pistols are d6, a rifle being d8 ?

Hope you don't mind me bopping in to help. :)

SWADE p. 87-88 establishes that the base target number is 4, and every extra 4 points is a raise.

P. 94 "Bonus Damage" says that getting a raise gives you a flat +1d6 damage, which can ace (reroll and add on a 6). It also says that you only get the bonus damage once, even if you get multiple raises.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

I don't mind the help wherever it comes from.

I was trying to get that straight in my head, and was having difficulty trying to sort it out.
Thus I asked.

I appreciate the info. I can work with that.

Sovereign Court

To put it in an easy-to-read table, the breakdown is:

4 = Success
8 = One raise
12 = Two raises
16 = Three raises
Every 4 points = another raise

Success on an attack = roll weapon damage
Any number of raises = add 1d6 to damage, regardless of the kind of attack

Human Indian : Parry 7 (with shield), Toughness 6(1)

Most of SW works on "one or more Raises" - even most Powers get a benefit "on a Raise", which really means "one or more". Some GM's (including myself) have tried to give extra perks with more Raises with varying degrees of success.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Sorry, got busy Thursday and Friday, My weekends are often not good update times. Tried to make time to update this Monday But crashed hard when I got Home, you can only function on little sleep a few days before payback comes lol. I Just now got home from Tuesday night. My days kinda run together some times.

@ Rufus, that is rough man. The pain sucks, I know how that goes but at it lest you did not get the worse option.

On Raises, Jesse has the right of it. Its every 4 and as Flying Eagle says, sometimes GMs try to give you extra the more raises you get.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

Hey, no worries on how long it took. I expected nothing over the weekend, as for a day or two afterwards, NP.

Agreed, that is the way that I looked at it. At least I can walk upright. :)

Once again, thank you Jessie, for the info.

Sovereign Court

Any time!

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

I will be updating in an hour or so, when I can sit down to post. I am often busy as hell firday-sunday, but trying to get back to monday- Friday postings.

Who all is still here? I have not heard from a few posters in near a month

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

still here.
3 shots remaining until I got to reload.

As far as I can tell Flying Eagle, Rufus and Rodan are what Is left. I'll add Jess after the fight. That will get us back to 4 at lest.

Female Human Novice | Pace 6 | Parry 5 | Toughness 7 (2) | 4/3 Bennies

Yee-haw!

I'll add winona in soon and it looks like we are down to three. I'll message the two missing players when I get home tonight but I think they are gone.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Update when I get home tonight. Also for those who are left, take an advancement after that fight.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

So if you are allowing advancements, I am going to take double tap.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Just keep in Mind that double tap only works with a double action pistol. What did everyone else take?

I'll Add Winona In soon,

Human Indian : Parry 7 (with shield), Toughness 6(1)

To make up for the loss of Borak, I'm taking New Powers : Healing and Entangle.

If he comes back, can I change those?

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

The frontier is a double action if I recall correctly.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

I know we spent a lot of time on the zombies, but I will admit that I thought only head shots would work, and with my dice rolls, i never hit once.

In regards to the passed on, I know we lost 4, but how many of the bad guys were downed on the plains ??

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

If Lord Borak comes back I don't mind you retconning that edge or powers. I have not heard from him however.

You downed three of the six gunmen and all the zombies.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

So in my search of the bad guys what did I find ?

Male Human, Bennies 2 /3 Parry 4, Toughness 5, Wounds 0

Rodan is going to take Scout.

Is that all we do is pike a new edge to level up?

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Human Indian : Parry 7 (with shield), Toughness 6(1)

One "advancement" can :

-Buy you one new Edge.
-Boost an Attribute up by one die (but only once per Rank for all Attributes).
-Buy you 2 new skills at d4, or boost one or two existing skills up by one die (the rules are complicated on this, see the manual).
-Remove a Minor Hindrance, or possibly reduce a Major to a Minor.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

As flying Eagle explained, you have a few options. On the skills
You get two "points", to use on new skills or on skills you have. But if a skill is equal too or more than its linked attribute, it takes both "points' to move it up one die.

Female Human Novice | Pace 6 | Parry 5 | Toughness 7 (2) | 4/3 Bennies

Re: Healing: Savage Worlds Adventure Edition p. 96.

If someone gave you first aid within one hour of receiving the wound, and scored a success, that treats one Wound. This takes 10 minutes and there's a -1 penalty if the individual doesn't have a first aid kit, doctor's bag, etc.

If your wound wasn't healed in this time, you must rely on natural healing. You get a Vigor roll after five days. On a success (4 or more) you heal one Wound.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 3; Wounds 0

Ok, so I was treated after the gunfight in town.
So that means that my wound is gone ?

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

As Winona Points out, you have an hour to try and heal or you are stuck with natural healing. But frankly I forgot Rufus had been hurt so I'll hand wave and say he got all bandaged up and is fine
