Heh, Dennis, this monolith reminds me of PFS1 10-12 - my first ever PFS scenario, and I believe you were a player at my table!

Uninterrupted, Knab could arrive on the Plinth by the end of Round Two, judging by his current speed...

Yep. That's what the line in the briefing about the local goblin tribe starting a forest fire was a reference to. You could say that was the beginning of the current metaplot. And yeah, I was at that table with you. That was when Mike Sayre came to DunDraCon and ran it for our ridiculous characters.

Ridiculous is a relative term. I just thought all characters were like that. Every game has a player playing a creepy mesmerist who winks at other players, right? And eidolons that boss their summoners around is standard, right?
I regret not rolling for whatever Kate's kitsune was hiding. I couldn't find my Perception check, and then when I did, nobody else was rolling, so I got cold feet.
Plus, my characters are (or I am) moderately ridiculous. At another convention, I got to mark "jump on my chair and shout 'BOW BEFORE ME I AM YOUR MONKEY GOD'" off my bucket list, so ... all's well that ends well?

Ithuriel,
Maybe I missed it, but your Animal Companion should benefit from it's own Precision bonus to damage!

One of my players at Reaper Virtual Expo this weekend pointed out something I hadn't considered: the penalty for Subsisting after traveling all day is a circumstance penalty. The penalty for crit-failing a Subsist penalty is also a circumstance penalty (those are both out of the CRB/GMG). That means they would not stack, so there is literally no downside to you attempting Subsist checks, regardless of difficulty.

In-game translation: "The rest of the party gets used to the branches and leaves that Emdi scrounges from the forest floor."

![]() |

Lol. It's of course perfectly fine to have a role-playing reason not make the checks, I just wanted to be clear that there is no mechanical downside.

![]() |

I'm seeing a couple votes each for following your original plan and for changing your route to go Southwest. Which way would you like to proceed?

![]() |

If the "head SW" plan already has 3 votes (rainzax voted for it in Gameplay), so we should go with that plan. I think one character effectively abstained in Gameplay, so it's either 4-1, 3-2, or 3-1 in favor of heading SW.
Emdi voted for his plan - it's a tremendous plan, nobody's seen anything like it - but he's clearly outvoted.

It wouldn't have made a difference in this case (and may have just been a copy/paste error), but just to be clear MAP does not apply to reactions (or any other attack that doesn't happen on your turn).
The multiple attack penalty applies only during your turn, so you don't have to keep track of it if you can perform an Attack of Opportunity or a similar reaction that lets you make a Strike on someone else's turn.

It does apply to readied actions, it is an explicit exception to the general rule.
If you have a multiple attack penalty and your readied action is an attack action, your readied attack takes the multiple attack penalty you had at the time you used Ready. This is one of the few times the multiple attack penalty applies when it’s not your turn.

I believe the 2nd attack hit Toanthel.
AC 22
+2 status (lay on hands)
+2 circumstance (shield)
-2 status (sickened)
Sickened reduces your DCs and AC is your DC to be hit. RAW your AC is reduced by conditions like sickened and frightened.

![]() |

Yeah, you're right. I'd forgotten the sickened. Thanks.

Packet's last action seems off.
How does he have Sorcerer Dedication with a 12 Charisma? Doesn't it require 14?
You are level 4, so your cantrips should be heightened to 2nd level dealing 2d6+Charisma mod damage with TKP.

Packet and I talked about this offline (I'm also one of his local VLs); we'll get it sorted after the game.

Sorry for the slow posting day yesterday. Long day at work, then GMing an SFS game that ran long.
I have a question I meant to ask earlier, but affects how the conclusion of this scenario goes: did any of you (players, not characters) play or GM PFS1 #10-16: What the Helms Hide?

![]() |

Great. There's an extra bit of the conclusion that triggers if at least one person has the legacy boon from that scenario.

![]() |

That's the end! Thanks for playing, everyone. Go ahead and roll your earned income checks, and I'll get chronicles made up.

Thanks for running! And thanks for writing! Great scenario!

Emdi invites everyone to a rave when they get back to Absalom. "Strawberry shortcake rave! Free admission to anyone who can cast dancing lights or wears a strawberry-shaped hat. Meet down by the docks, if we can't find an empty warehouse, we'll send a runner to guide you into the sewers. It's gonna be sick!"

Alright, you should all have your chronicle, either by email (if I had yours handy) or a link sent via PM. Let me know if you don't see it, or if you find any errors.
Thanks again for playing, everyone, you were a great table!

![]() |

Mine looks great, thanks again!
I'm turning right around and running it for the table that finished 10-12.

![]() |

Thanks for running GM!
This Scenario is super cool - I really like how you executed the "Hexploration" here.
Knab's chronicle is missing Thorough Reports for the Living Wildfire and Ember Foxes (linked to gameplay in Knab's final post) - but other than that looks good.
Cheers!
