The Roscoe on the table dodges and mocks the tieflings relentlessly. "Gotta be quicker than that goat mellon. Any of you seriously here I will hold still." The Roscoe on the table holds out his arms to the side lifts his chin and invites their strikes.

The Roscoe in the back grips his Holy symbol tightly and prays a prayer over Damon, Hall and Kokam.

Damon strode into the room behind the closest Tiefling and spun the cultist around in his chair, saying, "You think helping demons slaughter citizens of my city is funny? Let me show you the error of your ways!" Staring at the enemy, Damon stabbed powerfully at the cultist's chest with his glowing sword.

His reluctance to strike an enemy dishonorably cost Damon, as the tiefling twisted just enough for the sword to glance off his armor and punch through the chair behind him. Damon settled back into a defensive stance as his companions came pouring into the room to provide--hopefully--more effective combat support than his own.

With Roscoe’s initiative higher than Damon’s, here is the 1d4 for bless which could make a difference with his attack: Bless bonus on attack: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Stella entered the room and looked towards the Tiefling that seemed to be the most senior of the bunch. Rather than channeling the heat of a burning star into her hand, she conjured the essence of the pure cold of space between the stars. Her hands growing icy for a moment, she launched a blast of Cold energy towards her target!

Got to admit I was hoping you would go for Goat Mellon.

Roscoe on the table ran through a number of impetuous insults regarding the parentage of tieflings and the pernicious proclivities the various mothers that this brood sprang from. In the same moment the real Roscoe moved next to Kokam and engaged with the same foe. He dropped low bringing his rapier up under his own shield and then lunging upward pulling the shield away to have the blade strike up at the enemy biting up into the tiefling.

Rapier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Rapier Advantage engaging a foe within 5feet of me and the dupe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

OOC: Goat Mellon was good. :)

BTW, I am treating the duplicate as a 'mirror image' for lack of better guidance. Thus, the image disappears once it is hit. It's no longer there.

But I'm not really sure if that is correct or not. I need to look into it. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think the illusion stays for the duration (or until he loses concentration) because Roscoe can cast spells from its position and it grants him advantage on melee attacks when he and the illusion are adjacent to the same target. Plus I feel like there are definitely some fun shenanigans you can do with the illusion (even after it's initially found out like having both move out of sight then reappear so that the enemy couldn't tell which one was real again :p)

Shouldn't the Tiefling with Kokam have light wounds?

Reading the description for Invoke Duplicity, reads like it lasts for a minute or until concentration is lost....neat little ability! Note that mirror image explicitly states that when an image is hit , it disappears; not so for Invoke Duplicity. But , ultimately your call :)

Easily dodging the tiefling's mediocre counter attack, Kokam thrust again with her spear...

...and to prove she has his measure, strikes true with both spear and a spinning kick!

Channel Divinity: Invoke Duplicity

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to create an illusory duplicate of yourself.

As an action, you create a perfect illusion of yourself that lasts for 1 minute, or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). The illusion appears in an unoccupied space that you can see within 30 feet of you. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the illusion up to 30 feet to a space you can see, but it must remain within 120 feet of you.

For the duration, you can cast spells as though you were in the illusion’s space, but you must use your own senses. Additionally, when both you and your illusion are within 5 feet of a creature that can see the illusion, you have advantage on attack rolls against that creature, given how distracting the illusion is to the target.

Combat Inspiration
Also at 3rd level, you learn to inspire others in battle. A creature that has a Bardic Inspiration die from you can roll that die and add the number rolled to a weapon damage roll it just made. Alternatively, when an attack roll is made against the creature, it can use its reaction to roll the Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to its AC against that attack, after seeing the roll but before knowing whether it hits or misses.

OOC: Yes, I think the image does NOT go away if hit (unlike mirror image). However, something to consider is that it lasts until concentration is broken and concentration was broken when Roscoe cast 'bless'.

I think I'll leave the action as is (with the tiefling having wasted his attack) but the image disappearing with the hit.

Guaging the tiefling's movement, she struck....

Kokam nodded with satisfaction as the tiefling fell to her spear strike, then turned quickly and easily deflected an awkward attack from the one in front of her.

Hallvardr follows the pair into the next room, still holding his dripping sword and throws a spell at the furthest Tiefling.... Drawing on the terror of the Lord of Battle.

Dissonant Whispers Wis DC13:

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V
Duration: Instantaneous

You whisper a discordant melody that only one creature of your choice within range can hear, wracking it with terrible pain. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, it takes 3d6 psychic damage and must immediately use its reaction, if available, to move as far as its speed allows away from you. The creature doesn’t move into obviously dangerous ground, such as a fire or a pit. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and doesn’t have to move away. A deafened creature automatically succeeds on the save.

3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6) = 14

OOC: I'll give Kokam a little bit more time to post but I would like to move this along later today...

Maybe our monk is just distracted. :)

Kokam wasn't surprised when the cowardly demon-worshippers decide to run, striking out with her spear as the tiefling runs by...

Spear, two-handed, attack of opportuntiy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

..the her foe proved elusive, agilely dodging around her strike!

Frowning with frustration, Kokam gave chase, catching up with the tiefling in the room of desacrated murals...

Spear, two-handed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Open hand, bonus: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Once again the tiefling avoids her spear, but using the momemtum of her attack, Kokam spun around and caught the demon-kin in the thigh with a strong kick.

Damon rushed after the fleeing cultist, sheathing his sword temporarily to allow him to wrench the door open. Moving as far after the tiefling as he could, Damon tried to close the distance and leave a path open for his quick friends to chase down the enemy.

"Quickly, before he warns anyone," grunts the young paladin as he thuds after the sentry.

Action to sheathe his sword so he can have a free hand to open the door, interact with an object to open the door, and move as far as he can after the tiefling (up to 30 feet). If I understand correctly, you get one interaction for free, but the second one takes an action. Alternately, if someone else opens the door before him, Damon will charge through the door and try to reach the fleeing enemy--dashing if he has to, swinging his weapon if he gets close enough in one move action.

Using 1 ki for Step of the Wind ability, able to Dash as a bonus action (80ft)...plus one movement (40ft), means she can move 120ft...and attack !

Kokam cursed inwardly as the last remaining tiefling evaded her friends.

Taking a deep breath, she drew deep on the power that lay within, feeling the energy pulse through her limbs as she shot forward, running incredibly fast in pursuit!

If she catches up...

I've been playing Stella for the most part not wielding her staff (leaving her hand free for spells). My intention was to draw the weapon and attack during the OA. If that's not possible, then I'd retcon to her being too slow to draw her weapon (and not trying an OA)

"Wait!..." was all Stella was able to get out before some of her allies stormed out of the room chasing after the remaining cultist. Quickly scanning the room for anything of note that might be useful to navigating the building or dealing with anything that might be inside, she then hurried along after the others, worried about what sort of trouble was in store for them around the corner.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Action: Perception check (or if that's not an action then Dash action). If there was anything of note worth grabbing, she would've picked it up before leaving the room
Movement: 60' towards where the others were headed.

Roscoe continued his pursuit but as he moved dropped his rapier and with a swift motion dropped a slingstone into the catch of his sling he spun it swiftly gauging the distance and let it fly. The stone struck the tiefling square.

Fabian, both discordant whispers and vicious mockery are verbal only component spells... I can cast these with sword, shield and riding a unicycle ;)

That's fine. I don't think you would be able to draw a weapon and attack as part of a reaction. You would as part of an attack action.

OK, just make sure you keep that in mind if you're casting other spells.
