Feats:
Sentinel
You have mastered techniques to take advantage of every drop in any enemy's guard, gaining the following benefits:
When you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, the creature's speed becomes 0 for the rest of the turn.
Creatures provoke opportunity attacks from you even if they take the Disengage action before leaving your reach.
When a creature within 5 feet of you makes an attack against a target other than you (and that target doesn't have this feat), you
can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacking creature.

Touched by Awfulness
Once per day, you have advantage on a saving throw against an effect created by a demon that would kill or physically incapacitate you.

Abilities

Martial Arts
At 1st level, your practice of martial arts gives you mastery of combat styles that use unarmed strikes and monk weapons, which are shortswords and
any simple melee weapons that don't have the two-handed or heavy property. You gain the following benefits while you are unarmed or wielding only monk
weapons and you aren't wearing armor or wielding a shield: * You can use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls of your unarmed
strikes and monk weapons. * You can roll a d4 in place of the normal damage of your unarmed strike or monk weapon. * When you use the Attack action with
an unarmed strike or a monk weapon on your turn, you can make one unarmed strike as a bonus action. For example, if you take the Attack action and attack
with a quarterstaff, you can also make an unarmed strike as a bonus action, assuming you haven't already taken a bonus action this turn. Certain monasteries
use specialized forms of the monk weapons. For example, you might use a club that is two lengths of wood connected by a short chain (called a nunchaku) or
a sickle with a shorter, straighter blade (called a kama).

Wanderer
You have an excellent memory for maps and geography, and you can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you.
In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth.

Ki Powers (5/5 Ki points per short rest)
Flurry of Blows
After you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 1 ki point to make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action.

Patient Defense
You can spend 1 ki point to take the Dodge action as a bonus action on your turn.

Step of the Wind
You can spend 1 ki point to take the Disengage or Dash action as a bonus action on your turn, and your jump distance is doubled for the turn.

Unarmored Movement
Your speed increases by 10 feet while you are not wearing armor or wielding a shield.

Deflect Missiles
You can use your reaction to deflect or catch the missile when you are hit by a ranged weapon attack. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 +6. If you reduce damage to 0 and have a free hand, you can spend 1 ki point to make a ranged attack (as with a monk weapon) with a range of 20/60.

Deflect Missiles Attack
If you reduce damage to 0 and have a free hand, you can spend 1 ki point to make a ranged attack (as with a monk weapon).

Open Hand Technique (Special)
Whenever you hit with one of your Flurry of Blows attacks, you can impose one of the following effects on that target: fall prone if it fails a DEX saving throw (DC 12), get pushed up to 15 ft. if it fails a STR saving throw (DC 12), or it can't take reaction until the end of your next turn.

Slow Fall
You can use your reaction when you fall to reduce any falling damage you take by 20.

Stunning Strike
When you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to make the target stunned until the end of your next turn if it fails a CON saving throw (DC 13).

Appearance
Tall and lithe, Kokam is an average looking, pale skinned Kellid girl of 19. Black haired and blue eyed, her gaze is direct and questioning.
A series of angry-looking scars mar the sides of her neck, the place where a demon had actually grasped her with it's alien claw-like hand.
She never hides these scars.

Personality
Kokam seeks challenge. Her training was hard and she expects her life to be hard as well. She accepts that as her lot in life, she has
a purpose - the eradication of the Demonic scar of the WorldWound. However, that purpose, and the hard life it deals her, does
not preclude happiness. Though devoted to her disciplines , she still has time for joy and laughter...at the appropriate times, of course.

Background

To the West of the Worldwound stands the Tusk mountains, and in the plain below the Kawlo tribe eked out a life. Proud Kellids all , they patrolled the border of the Sarkoran Steppe, their dinosaur steeds trampling any demonic agents that dared tread on the purity of their Land.
Into this Kokam was born, the fourth daughter of an important chieftain. With three sisters and two brothers ahead of her, Kokam could really only look forward to an arranged marriage later in life. That plan was shattered when she was kidnapped at 9 by traitors within. Demon worshiping cultists stole her in the night and brought her to a terrible altar not far within the borders of the Worldwound. There many rituals were enacted, culminating in the last , for which she was meant as the primary sacrifice. She was saved by a large force of Kokam warriors , led by her Father and Brothers.

But the damage was done. What she'd seen and had done to her...tainted her in the eyes of all of the Kellid; and in some small part the family as well. No one would marry her now. Still full of love for his youngest daughter, Kokam's father pondered her future. Then, an interlude from his own youth came back to him. He'd spent a number of summers among the holy men, high in the Tusk mountains, learning self-discipline and wisdom in equal measure. He knew that they produced some
of the finest fighters...a fine future for his daughter, and a redemption for the family name.

And so, in the twilight of her 9th year, Kokam made the difficult journey up into the mountains to her destiny. The fastness there clung to the mountains, looking out on the plains and the darkness of the Worldwound beyond. A constant reminder of what those who studied and taught there strove against.

Ten years of study, training , hard discipline and harder lessons followed; all couched in the teachings of Iomeadae. Day after day, Kokam would kneel on one of the parapets and gaze out at the smudge of black and red and purple that was the Worldwound and hope that someday she would be worthy to be released from her tutelage and join the fight against the Abyssal invasion.

From time to time, her hand would, of its own volition, rise and softly caress the scars on her neck, her only physical reminder of those horrible days long ago. Even here, some held it against her, but such was easily forgiven by Kokam, the wisdom and grace of Iomeadae shining through. Despite the rigor of her training, her anger
at what was done to her would well up and cause Kokam to act out, or ignore her studies. Many meditative techniques were taught to her to manage her feelings at those times, but one of the most effective was the simple act of painting. How many times she first sketched, then with simple pigments, painted the plains of her birth, the surrounding mountains, the Worldwound, a bruise in the distance....she lost count. But help it did, for it removed her from the now, detached her from the cares of the world, if but for a brief time.

On a bright cool sunny day, she led some of the younger students in drills, using the flexible wooden rod to adjust posture and postition. Walking among the straining and struggling children, she caught sight of one of the Elders watching. With a short command, she released the students from their practice and walked over the the Elder.

After bowing to him , she stood quiet waiting for his instruction. Also, without a word he turned and walked away, a small movement of his hand indicating that she should follow.

Curious, she followed, growing still more curious, when the Elder led her towards her own quarters. He stopped before her modest bunk, then moved out of the way , revealing a number of items necessary for a long journey, including a number of items from the armory....but most pleasing a travel kit containing the necessaries to continue her love
of painting.

Cocking her head curiously at him, her smile matched that of his own as she realized what was happening, "You have become the best of us, Kokam. Now , go... the road to Kenebres awaits!" the Elder exclaimed, slapping his hands together, signally all of her other friends, fellow students and instructors alike, gathering to congratulate and bid her farewell.
