OOC: Well, start thinking about it because two items were already allocated and the next part of the adventure is ripe for giving out more items. I got something for Stella...

I just kept the masterwork item description from PF but it doesn't do anything with regards to mechanics in 5e.

If the sword was going to be one of your magic items then we would make it magical (+1) and I would ask you for a description/history commensurate with the item.

Recapping now.

EDIT: I changed my mind after you and Kokam's RP. +1 on damage is not too unbalancing in 5e so yes, MW weapons (like the sword) do +1 on damage.

Sorry, got busy. Was going to complain that Kokam got left behind, but then saw your really poor init roll for her :)

Round 1

Perhaps it was the result of a long day, getting knocked out earlier or just the sheer size of the demon they faced but Stella and Damon's move forward caught Kokam unprepared.

Cursing, she hurried to catch up , inserting herself between Damon and Hallvardr, striking out at the hideous monster...

Fabian, just assuming that that to hit roll you rolled for Kokam was her reaction from her Sentinel Feat....

Kokam winced as the demonic beast once again lashed out at Damon, but luckily it didn't seem to do too much damage.

With a silent prayer to Iomedae, Kokam somehow found the energy deep within to strike out at the demon once....twice...three times!

First, a powerful thrust of her spear caught the bird-demon in the throat, as gush of black ichor spraying from the wound. Using it's lurch of pain, Kokam then spun about, striking out with her foot against the demon's side, then landing a painful punch to the creature's side; both blows resulting in a satisfying sound of breaking bones and cartilage.

As the foul demon breathed its last from Hallvardr's mighty thrust, Damon swung a powerful arc with his own holy blade and severed the vulture demon's head the rest of the way from its body. Looking at the bloody remains, Damon gestured to the severed head and said, "Well-done, favored of Gorum. The honors belong to you this battle."

Recovering a bit from the massive wound he took as the Ulfen's healing magic takes effect, Damon looked around for more threats. Seeing none, he said, "Let us move on soon and try to reach the 'Heart with a minimum of additional fuss."

The Viking inclines his head gratefully to his companions, awarding him credit for the joint kill.

While his sword still glows with Divine power Hallvardr takes the time to hack off its head. Hoping that the divine light will cauterise some of the gore spurting blood vessels. He fashions a sling using rope and drags the hideous trophy behind him. It's heavy but he grunts in pride with each step.

It will give Lief pleasure to see this trophy... another kill for one of our band that left our villages by the fjords months ago. Then we will pitch it outside the Heart... so that our allies will know the foe can be beaten, and our enemies to know we fear them not. Let Gorum smile and bear witness!

Good idea on the divine sense. I do believe we are nearly out of puff... we could try finding a temporary shelter to rest up in if things get tight. We could fight a skirmish but not a big battle.

Turn 149 - Stealthy Return

Game on!

Silver Crusade

Male Half-Elven Paladin 5 | AC 20 | 44 HP | Str: +3, Dex: +0, Con: +2, Int: +0, Wis:+3, Cha: +7 | Initiative +0, Perception +3, Stealth +0 (Disadvantage)

Actions 1:

Damon was happy to let Hallvardr have the spotlight, especially since it gave him a chance to encourage his brother in arms, Lief. The young paladin listened as the valorous Ulfen bard spun the tale of the conquest of the safe houses, interjecting where he felt necessary (using help action to give Hallvardr advantage on his storytelling).

He also encouraged Kokam to speak in detail with Irabeth about the note and detailed documents found in Faxon's chest, as it seemed she best understood its implications. Listening carefully, he tried to gain an understanding of the strategic situation as well.

After storytime was over, Damon sought healing, food, and drink, sitting where there was room and taking care of his weapons and armor after finishing his meal. Before bed, the young paladin moved through the inn, encouraging those he could and comforting those he could not.

Actions 2:

On the cusp of volunteering for the dangerous mission himself, it not for his companions, Damon was taken aback by Quednys' last statement, "Destroy it? The Wardstone? Can we not restore it somehow, so it is returned to its original purpose instead? Wouldn't destroying it eliminate what is left of our border protection against the Worldwound?" he asked incredulously.

Also this morning we should sell or give the cultist's armor and weapons to the merchants and defenders, especially if we can trade for useful items in the upcoming mission. Are there any items that we need as a group or individuals? Magic Consumables such as potions or scrolls, upgraded armor or weapons (is there a masterwork version of armor?)
