Roscoe Elring - Champion |

Roscoe turns back to Frantino.
"Yeah--let's see if we can keep going. Something is drawing me forward--this place is majestic."
He steps closer to the pillar, then repeats the same phrase that worked before, once again in alta voce.

GM Derek |

Roscoe turns back to Frantino.
"Yeah--let's see if we can keep going. Something is drawing me forward--this place is majestic."
He steps closer to the pillar, then repeats the same phrase that worked before, once again in alta voce.
Roscoe says, "OPEN FOR THE GLORY OF ALAZNIST!" and the pillar lowers into the floor, revealing an opening into another room.
Mmmmm, yessss. Say my name again, Roscoe Elring. Say it. SAY IT! the voice whispers in his mind. Roscoe shudders at the syrupy seduction of the woman's voice in his head. But... he's just not sure if the shudder is one of pleasure... or of horror. His Sihedron medallion vibrates eagerly on his chest, emitting an uncomfortable heat.
The faint echo of the Runelord of Wrath grips Roscoe's soul tighter. +1 influence point.
If I'm counting correctly, that's 4pts of influence!
+1 - channeling the spirit in the morning
+1 - dark communion in the fight
+1 - opening the first pillar
+1 - opening THIS pillar
When a spirit gains at least 3 points of influence over the medium, the dual impulses housed within the same body cause the medium to meld with his spirit’s consciousness. The resulting muddled sense of self and struggle for control causes the medium to take a –2 penalty on initiative checks as well as a specific additional penalty listed in each spirit’s entry. However, the spirit’s mental presence grants the medium a +4 bonus against possession effects and a +2 bonus on saving throws against mind-affecting effects that are not related to possession.
Runelord of Wrath Influence Penalty: You are quick to violence and prefer a weapon to spells or contemplation. You take a penalty equal to your spirit bonus on Intelligence checks and Intelligence-based skill checks, and to your caster level (to a minimum of caster level 0); as usual, a reduced caster level may render you unable to cast spells. You can’t benefit from effects that increase your caster level.

GM Derek |

While the team is talking, the first pillar slowly rises up and reseals the room... with you in it.
The room is now pitch black. I believe Nasir is the only one affected by this.

GM Derek |

The New Room
The floor of this circular room is stained dark red in places, while the walls are decorated with collapsed weapon racks and ruined shelves.
There is another pillar on the far edge of the room.

Roscoe Elring - Champion |

/Gulp
Roscoe can feel the power growing in him. His thoughts are his own--but he can feel them tainted by something else.
You want me to do your bidding--but if you want that, you're gonna have to share more of your power with me. Share your secrets! I'm not your slave! Share with me the secrets of Thassilon--of the archmages!

Nasir al-Rafik Kamal |

Nasir pulls out a sunrod and strikes it on the ground to light it up. He holds it in his left shield hand and draws his sword as well. He enters the room with the group.

GM Derek |

Ooops. Wrong game. I think most of you dont' have night vision. nly Frantino and Ezranadir have low-light. Others are human or halfling wiht no night vision of any sort. AM I wrong?

GM Derek |

As soon as Nasir enters the room, he feels an instantaneous burst of cold and a horrific silent scream pierces his (and everybody's) brain. It is the sound of reality tearing asunder, the wall between planes rupturing and spitting forth one of its inhabitants!
In the center of the room, at the epicenter of the planar tear, a maggotlike creature with a long tail covered in frightening hooked suckers appears.

[dice=Knowledge Dungeoneering]1d20 + 7 + 1d6 Should be at least two questions: Special attacks? Energy resistances or immunities?
It's a grimslake, an aberration from the Abyss. The grublike grimslake is commonly found on Abyssal battlefields, where it crawls among the bodies, sucking away marrow and other vital tissues found within the dead. Of course, when fresh carcasses aren’t available, grimslakes eagerly to turn to living victims—they take particular delight in the sound of screams as they feed.
Special attacks: constrict (1d6+6), marrow drain, penetrating jaws (ignores cold iron and silver DR).
Energy resistances: acid 10, fire 10
