Frantino auto-succeeds the perception check, notices the ghostly hands failing to sort the paperwork, and tries to help determine if this is a haunt and how it could be put to rest.

This is, to Frantino's eyes, DEFINITELY a haunt. It is a spirit of some sort, an echo of Augus Premm (who ever HE was), doing his job over and over. As with all haunts, Frantino knows that what keeps the echo in this realm is related to how to stop it.

Staying back, Ezranadir says, "How much room is there to pass by it?"
If Ezranadir moves up carefully and looks into the room, he sees that it is a small office/library of some sort. The desk and Augus Premm are directly in the center.
Ezranadir doesn't think there's a way to skirt the haunt.

Ezranadir speaks to the group, "So Haunts will continue doing what they were doing in life until they are put to rest. They can be triggered by messing with the objects that are holding them here or by just by being close to their presence. I do not know what type of attack this Haunt will unleash but be prepared for some type of a sonic scream. I would suggest stuffing our ears with cotton or wax. Don't know if that will work or not but it's better to be prepared for it. I'm guessing to put him to rest would be to file the papers he is trying to arrange into the Mahogany cabinets in their prospective spots."
How many people would be able to work around the desk filing the papers away?

"Perhaps one of us could step inside and immediately step back into this hallway? I can do it but I know I don't have a reaction time as fast as some of you if he reacts immediately. Maybe we can shut the door in time to mitigate the effects? It could be a fear-based haunt, bureaucracy has that effect for many people. Anyway, there's often a period of time before a haunt reappears, with any luck we can then look at his papers and file them in relative peace, at least for a few minutes, maybe as long as an hour. He doesn't seem to notice us in the hallway, even though we're only feet away and talking about him."
"Applying positive energy can also disable a haunt before its effect manifests, but I'd rather Doc save his healing for us. Anyone happen to be carrying a haunt siphon? I'm not."

Can we see any real papers still in the room, or is everything appearing/disappearing as the figure moves it around?

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
The description was that there are scrolls and papers in the Mahogany cabinets along the northern wall and on top of the desk which the Haunt's hands were passing through the pages. If we watch long enough, the pages he attempts to pick up to file and disappear probably stay on the desk.

He picks up ghostly versions of the real papers, scrolls, etc and files them. The real versions remain on the desk.
