I had to look up the rules, too.
Rods are scepter-like devices that have unique magical powers and do not usually have charges. Anyone can use a rod.
Physical Description: Rods weigh approximately 5 pounds. They range from 2 feet to 3 feet long and are usually made of iron or some other metal. (Many, as noted in their descriptions, can function as light maces or clubs due to their hardy construction.) These sturdy items have AC 9, 10 hit points, hardness 10, and a break DC of 27.
Some specifically transform into other kinds of weapons (Rod of Flailing, Rod of the Python) or are also magical light or heavy maces as is (Rod of Alertness, Rod of Lordly Might, Rod of the Viper), but it looks like a GM judgement call if the rest of them could be considered nonmagical light maces or clubs. I'm not sure I would have used "many" if it was limited to just the ones that explicitly state they are magical weapons, and none of them state they are clubs, that word only comes up in that first general description of rods.

Doc, what type of metamagic rod is this?
OK. The Empower Metamagic Rod description in the CRB does not state that it can function as a light mace. Using it as an improvised weapon is fine, of course.

Nasir al-Rafik Kamal |

Nasir quickly thinks of other ways to deal with this blightspawn while the thug is laughing. He drops his sword and rummages through the bag of holding, grabs the scroll of protection from evil and gives it to Doc.
"Gregory C. Hatfield! Use this to cast on Frantino Kaddren! I think it will help him. Everyone else throw tanglefoot bags at the creature to see if we can force it to the ground!"
I think the search and handoff will use all my actions. FYI - Protection from Evil does a ton!

"And Roscoe Elring! Use that Wand of Fireball on that creature!!!!!"

GM Derek |

I thought everyone had a talisman of Freedom which would negate Frantino's paralyzed condition.
GOOD MEMORY!
It would also negate Ayita's Slow. I don't see it on Ayita's character sheet. Ayita, did you forget or is there a reason you didn't put it on?
These were necklaces of three separate talismans: Lesser Freedom, Lesser Warrior's Courage, Lesser Arrow Protection

It was when the Rodric's Cove loot was split up on ship after Corla & Viralane encounter. Nasir stated it in the Disscussions thread & offered Ezranadir a set since there was an extra set Aug 2, 2022 per Frantino's previous recommendations.

Nasir al-Rafik Kamal |

From the thread, it looks like Ezrandir was the only one who opted to take a set. Nasir couldn't use them since he already has a Amulet of Natural Protection in his neck slot. I guess we'll have plenty of replacements for Frantino and Ezranadir.
