Well, that didn't happen.
For some reason, I am having a complete lack of motivation here plus RL has been a bit crazy.
Just not sure what I am going to do here. I will let you know once I think through it further.

Storyteller Shadow |

Hi Folks, we are on the cusp of the 10 year anniversary on this one though the past 6 months have been pretty barren.
For the moment, I am sorry to say I have to put this into official Torpor.
Hopefully when things get a bit less crazy for we can revisit but at the moment, I just don't have the time or the energy that I need to devote to this game the way it deserves.
I am hoping it's temporary. If I decide to drive a complete stake through its heart I WILL let you know.

Storyteller Shadow |

Work has been unrelenting but that's a good thing when the business grows.
Been so busy I barely even have time to miss gaming truth be told, hell even my table top sessions have been canceled three times in a row, that's the most since high school! Not that I'm doing much there, running a mod straight from the book, with practically ZERO prep time each session.
My table top Vamp game has been in torpor since last summer as well...
Hope everyone is well.

Storyteller Shadow |

I cannot get off the work treadmill lately that's for sure.
My girlfriend is also moving in and we are trying to have a baby so that's also taking up time.
Perhaps once that settles in my schedule will get more smooth. Well, till baby arrives anyway!

Storyteller Shadow |

Mazeltov!
Seriously, that’s awesome news. Part of my absence has been a new relationship and a second job. There don’t seem to be enough hours in the day.
Are we the same person and we just don't know it, like Fight Club?

Storyteller Shadow |

I think it’s less that we are the same person, and more like I am a version of you bought on Wish, lol
LOL.
OMFG, just won a magic tournament (that I hosted, haven't done one in years) man that took WAAAY longer than I thought it would. Not following card values I took a card worth $3 as my top prize, whoops.

Storyteller Shadow |

I came in second to last in a tourney I hosted last month and picked a card worth $45 so yeah.
Business is doing well and my job is my job.
In other news my girlfriend is pregnant and I bought an engagement ring today, never thought I'd be doing THAT again. Damn, they're way more expensive than they used to be ...... :-(

Storyteller Shadow |

Thanks guys, pretty surreal in a way and I don't often use that word but I'll have a 10 year old and a newborn if it all works out in February.
I think once the Baby gets to a certain age (i.e. like 7 or 8 months) I might try and resurrect this one...

Storyteller Shadow |

I think by this time next year I will bring this out of Torpor as most of you still appear to be around. I don't want to bring it out too early as I know my time will be strangled when the baby arrives.
Looking forward to making this happen and moving to the end game of this damn Chronicle!
To say the least, I expected to be on to the 1500's by now... ;-(

Storyteller Shadow |

Hey just checking in on how everyone is doing.
Still 3 months till baby and a few months after that I think I can reboot this. Probably May of June of 2023 is my target date.
I do not plan on bringing in anyone new. Whoever is left is where we will pick back up. Trying to run all 13 Clans hurt the forward progression of the Chronicle even if it was fun for a while.

Lorenzo Cappelli |

Still around.
Timing works well for me, as there is a better than average chance that I will be moving from the St. Louis area to the Raleigh/Durham area (work related) in the next 3-4 months.
Otherwise, happy to resume playing Lorenzo when that opportunity presents itself.

I considered relocating there several years ago and was considering retiring there until I met the fiancee'. Having her be 10 years younger changed all my retirement calculations and of course now at 65 instead my new child will be 19 so that is a very different place then even 18 months ago!

Storyteller Shadow |

Happy New Year folks.
Still contemplating the Summer or Fall for a return here. How is everyone doing?

Storyteller Shadow |

I sent a PM to Onfroi a few days ago no response, anyone have contact with him since November of last year? I know this is highly unlikely but...

Storyteller Shadow |

When I reboot I think I will start a fresh thread.
Looks like we lost Bernardo and Onfroi based on PMs I sent.
I know Ranerius, Lorenzo and Michele are still here. Pretty sure Geoffroi is still down to play.
Alessandro has agreed to rejoin and I have one person from RL who is interested in starting once more (he played a Lasombra that drifted off but I think that will not happen again this time).
So that gives us 5 or 6 players. I don't plan on opening the campaign ever again (unless to a former PC) so what we have is what we will move forward with!

Storyteller Shadow |

With that final scene closed, when I restart in June, I will open a new thread. This way we have a fresh start, I will make the first post a recap of the prior two threads and rebuild the Campaign Tab to reflect the Cainites present in the city versus those you are not aware of as part of the initial goal will be figuring out who is still present, and who is not.
The original thread is still available for the rules on Disciplines of course.

Storyteller Shadow |

Staked but not subject to the Final Death!
By June, I plan on bringing it out of Torpor completely.

Storyteller Shadow |

Damn, this PbP is now over 11 years old (well 10 if you count that lost year).
Crazy to think it's older than my daughter and now being brought back after the birth of a son 10 years later.
The chronicle itself is 18 years old!
On May 1, 2005 I sent this email (first session was in June [EDIT: I just realized when I sent this I still had not graduated from Law School: the Fall as I took off gaming until August of 2005 to study for the bar] [Edit 2, crap, I was running this BEFORE I met my first wife!].)

This game has ended up lasting longer than the original 2 years. LOL! I didn't intend the time IN Venice to last THIS long.
Hopefully with less players and less I/C interruption from my life we can move on to the next century finally, though that might not be for at least a year or two as I have more plot here in Venice to tease out.
