Rhen takes point checking for traps. He gives you the all clear.
This strangely-shaped chamber is essentially an oblong room with six oval subrooms branching off of it at regular intervals. The ceiling here is 30 feet high and vaulted like a cathedral. Each of the small rooms has a short flight of stairs leading up to a narrow platform. Each platform has an intricately-carved, upright, closed sarcophagi and a set of large, broken iron chains that at one point probably held the sarcophagi shut.

Niu |

"Closed sarcophagi with broken chains? Are we curious enough to release the undead that must lie within?
They could also hold items of great power. Maybe even a scroll of identify so we can learn what that staff does."
Any markings on the sarcophagi?

Niu's hands twitch toward the sarcophagi he is examining, ready to crack it open and look inside if Ranok doesn't stop him.

Niu |

Niu's hand jerks back as he realizes who was in these sarcophagi.
"These were the Whispering Tyrant's lieutenants. Imprisoned here, but the fact that they added chains meant the crusaders expected them to animate."
Looking at the chains, he shudders. "Chained no longer. I think we need to know if these six are ahead of us or remain here. Perhaps we can flip one open while we prepare to run back into the hallway to bottle them up?"
.
Suiting his words, he backs toward the hallway

Ranok |

"Want me to pop one open, then? I can slide off one of these lids maybe"

Igar The Terrible |

Failure to be aware of your surroundings has allowed a particularly dangerous enemy to remain undetected. Backlash from the broken Seal animated them as undead and gave them the strength to break out of their stone coffins and merge into a strange composite creature.
This horrid creature’s limbs are composed of parallel bones from several humanoid creatures. Its head is a broken-and-fused amalgam of three skulls. Its ribcage numbers nearly twenty overlapping pairs of ribs, some of which are jutting out at odd angles. Its feet and hands are large and tangled like the roots of a great tree, made up of at least three hands and feet each. Withered intestine and dry sinew writhe in its empty gut and dangle from its open jaws. It roars and moves to Ranok.

"K. We have just a few minutes. Let's go destroy some undead!"
Ranok will then open the door and step through.

Igar The Terrible |

Ranok enters a vestibule with curved walls on the north side and square corners on the south. On either side sit two copper braziers partially filled with a sour-scented oil that does little to mask the nauseating scent of rotting flesh that seems to seep from the shale stone walls. In the center of the room is a wretched-looking creature, a desiccated human form with new-looking armor and weapons. Flies buzz about this creature’s exposed flesh. With the open door, you all can see this.
