Our holiday was pretty low key with the immediate family as my wife worked at night and we are a few hours drive from the rest of the family.
The night of too much food and drink will be tomorrow, I probably won't be able to post until Sunday. Perhaps Saturday night

I'll get a post in later tonight. I can't slack off at work right now cause I'm training the new guy.
Nikrir Leldro
Wow.
With that 17 and the 18 & 19 that follow, I feel good about our odds of being done xD

Hey, that's like a whole day without almost getting ourselves killed.
So, progress.

Please tell me I'm not the only one imagining this rundown church with a bunch of Fiestas lines up out front with one of those wavy inflatable tube guys.

Well I am now!
Nikrir Leldro
I'm now trying really hard to, but I have to go and look up what a 'Fiestas line' is xD
Is it the car kind of fiesta?
A typo and not making the connection between Ford and Fiesta prevented me from imagining it a few minutes ago, but now I can't think of it any other way for that street to possibly look :P
edit to avoid double posting:
Delmoth rolled a 72 on the extended reincarnation table. I blame invisible forces plotting against you.
I guess RNGesus has a funny sense of humor?

I'll be at my in-laws this weekend so I'll be bored to tears watching football to avoid having to talk to them, so everyone feel free to post like mad and give me a distraction!
Rinika
so I found this to help me translate planescape cant, going to slowly have Vaascht start working in the slang as he gets used to actually talking to folks here.
I've been using that a little bit here and there to sprinkle some in to Rinika's speech.
Have you thought of trying out Sigil Cant on your in-laws?
Vaascht
Good idea, but they think I'm odd enough as it is. Well at least my MIL does, it's best to stick to safe subjects like... my kids mostly. I can talk hunting and sports with my father in law at least.

Oh mimir.net. I am surprised you still exist, it has been 20 years. I should be better about this stuff. I know that list includes user submitted content. So if you source material from that list you may end up confusing your DM.

Finally updated Nikrir's undead with Zombington the second's stats
Also updated the treasure sheet to not have Skellingtons weapon, chain shirt, or shield :(
Oh well, we'll find plenty of otherwise almost useless loot...

Just got back from a hackathon I forgot to mention that I now realize was rather well timed xD
Also, really enjoying catching up xD

Akrynn decides to stay with group. He has a funny feeling that the DM is up to shenanigans....
Your DM is always up to shenanigans.

@GM: I just remembered a thing.
(probably because of the half-joke about not biting...)
Natural Weapons: In her natural form, a kitsune has a bite attack that deals 1d4 points of damage.
and
Attacks: A zombie retains all the natural weapons...
...Does it, Zombington II, actually bite after all? :D
I might need to tweak its stats xD| Nikrir Leldro |
Oddly, this makes Zombington slightly less effective when it charges into battle, since it won't get x1.5 str on slams anymore.
At least it has the living dead vibe, thanks to the biting zombie xD
edit: Also realized that I put d4 instead of d6 for the slam for some reason...

"Who put the sticks up their butts? So cruel!" Guesses?
Obviously, it was evil aligned druids.
... those poor sticks...| Nikrir Leldro |
...By the evil druids that work there :D
Akrynn
Peter Quill: Really? On my planet, there's a legend about people like you. It's called Footloose. And in it, a great hero named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that dancing, well... It's the greatest thing there is.
Gamora: Who put the sticks up their butts?
Peter Quill: What? No, that's just a...
Gamora: That is cruel.

I'll get a post up tomorrow night. I was going to go one way and realized it didn't make a whole lot of sense timing-wise.

added transparent staircase of rainbow-colored boxes as a reference for Color Spray ^^

Those rainbow boxes are purdy.
I had thought Huelster had fled from my first reading, but don't see a way to spray without hitting him.
Also, Vaascht wouldn't care if he was collateral damage for an essentially harmless spell (possibly he wouldn't care if it was harm ful), so it's fine.
Right bastard Vaascht is.
Nikrir Leldro
It took me a while to find it, but you could do it from behind the statue (Hulester would be 20' away instead of 15', and none of the enemies would be adjacent either)
I do, however, like that Vaascht would stun Hulester anyway xD
Nikrir Leldro
The Patryn grins.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning!
Smells like victory?
DM_Delmoth
Had to delete my most recent post and re-work it. Will get it up later tonight

He might be listed as CN, but he's developed more of a neutral evil. Selfish and unscrupulous.
Nikrir Leldro
CN? I didn't think mercs could be nonlawful, much less chaotic :O
Maybe it's time to rewrite CN as NE xD
Nikrir Leldro
It's more of a potential dependability thing xD
If you're chaotic enough you might not finish the job xD
Or change your mind on the job (which also nets you less karma in shadowrun iirc)
Obviously, Vaascht hasn't been the very unreliable kind of chaotic xD

Sorry I stopped reading when I saw Shadowrun. Who wants Nik to run a Shadowrun game? Raises hand
In other news I'm in meetings all day. Blegh.

I haven't had a chance to play Shadowrun since the mid 90's and I'd LOVE to play.
As for Vaascht and CN:
I've always envisioned and played Chaotic Neutral as more of the true free spirit, or individualist, unconcerned with laws and governance and unconstrained with the idea of trying to actively do good rather than the maniacal lunatic some people go with.
In his case I had thought of him more of the wandering Ronin archetype (he was initially a Samurai after all) rather than a stand in a shield wall and follow discipline mercenary. Sure the fated tell him to go here and collect this or that maybe hurt someone or another, but he decided when/where/how to do it, and wouldn't care about walking away if he really felt like it. I had been kinda thinking a bit of a less unpredictable Mugen from Samurai Chmaploo
Then, of course, as often happens between concept and play, he kinda went darker and a bit less chaotic. And also a real jerk.
Nikrir Leldro
Standard alignment is definitely descriptive xD
DM_Delmoth
I always allow my DM to say what my alignment is for that particular character through how I play them. My eyes get foggy upon self-perpective...lol.
I get the feeling that you're always CX.
You could become philosophically committed to your alignment and join the Xaoscitects or The Revolutionary League.

Forgive my metagaming, but yes, he is.

BTW, it just occurred to me that I forgot to ask:
@GM: 5' step is not an action, right? So we can 5' step while staggered like Zombington just did, right?
If not we can retcon that whiff to happen next round ^^;
DM_Delmoth
A 5-foot step is an action but one that doesn't take a standard, move, or swift to accomplish. You can take it if you are staggered with the normal restrictions on a 5-foot step.
No need for retcon
