Before we get to the good bitz please get your crunch sorted. Let me know when you're ready to go here.

Some things I would like to know:

How do you, as PCs, know each other? Could be that you've all worked together before, or you all frequent the same tavern. We can do an organic introduction to each other as well.

What kind of game focus do you want? Are there specific Planescape modules you want me to run? Do you want to focus on action? Intrigue? There will be some faction politics.

Do any of you, as players, have triggers you want to avoid? If you don't want to talk about it in the discussion thread feel free to PM me.

ty to the DM.
Convincing the other party members that Yomi hypnotizing them is a good thing should be interesting

Sheet is mostly done just have to pick a trick [thinking of the temp HP one] and do last checks.
I prefer to avoid rape and soul-eating.

I’m pretty open to most scenarios. My thought for Evie is that she gets around the city and tries to keep up to date on news, gossip, and people, so she can easily have met one or all of the PCs in the course of being a busybody.

I prefer to avoid long, grindy combats, but otherwise an open to most game types. Given the setting I’d prefer that we have the opportunity to interact with curious and colorful NPCs before killing them :)

I’m not familiar with the published modules - the little Planescape I’ve played has been in home-brew adventures - so I’m game for any you’d like to run.

... wrote:

I don’t have any triggers per se, but prefer that things widely acknowledged as upsetting (rape, torture, very bad things happening to children) not be portrayed gratuitously or in poor taste. “The whole village has been gruesomely slaughtered and their bodies put on display” is fine; I don’t want/need a gory description of the details.

I am here, and excited to start!

I figure my character would likely have been hired by someone to meet the group, perhaps as a bodyguard of another character? Might be a good hook to start anyway.

I dot have any specific needs for modules as I've never been able to run any (despite really wanting to!) So they all will be good. Gonna have to dig out my old copy of Torment as well, been too long since I played that anyway.

I dont have any special triggers either.

I'll be crunching out my samurai this weekend and should have it finished by tuesday (I'm travelling this weekend but do have my phone) and am leaning towards swapping to Sword Saint archetype to get in heavy armor since it does look like I might be the main meatshield. I was contemplating going with a polearm and combat reflexes to get a nice 10' bulwark with the option to drop it and use the iajitsu when needed.

Same. Something that I've done in the past to help speed things along but keep balance is, for enemies only, to give them a +2 to things that make combat move faster, like to hit, damage, and some save DCs, and a -2 penalty to things that slow it down like, HP, AC, and some saves. That said I think boss fights by their nature will tend to be longer.

Sorry I've been out, the weekend was dark long and full of terrors activities.

I'll have my crunch up on an alias soon but in the meantime it's all on mythweavers. I believe I still have spells and equipment to finalize. Also, I did take a drawback - I think it's an appropriately negative one for a roguish character who may get herself in trouble, but GM is certainly final arbiter on that.

In terms of trigger warnings, I'm good with what's been posted already. I'm also not a big fan of inter-party pvp type stuff. Having our own agendas is one thing, but I don't really enjoy players plotting against other players sort of stuff.

Sorry, still working on sorting out crunch. With any luck I'll be done sometime tomorrow.

Currently my thought is for Evie to fill a reconnaissance role, both physically and socially. I can shift her focus if someone else is dead set on a similar role and doesn't want their toes stepped (scurried) on.

Once I'm "done" I'll probably have a couple questions for you to rule on, DM Delmoth.

Jek makes deliveries all over Sigil and hangs out at the Poor Sod Tavern. He meets a lot of people through those, but other ways would be fine. He is looking to earn more jink after all.

This question had me stuck. I'm pretty sure I'm in it for the party banter. So long as there's a variety of things for us to react to, it should be an easy win.

DM_Delmoth wrote:

I also like the "no pvp" rule. It doesn't turn out well. That includes forcing negative stuff on fellow players like stealing, mind controlling, etc. It kills the party.

Otherwise, let's avoid sexism and sexually creepy stuff.

Delmoth, thank you for asking the question of what we want to avoid. I'm sure I'm not alone in that I've had games that I've really hated playing in because of some of the issues here, and it's really great to see that being addressed up front.

Introductions - Rinika has tries to set her up as a guide to the city and information broker, but she isn't very good at either one so she falls back on burgling to get by when she needs to. She could have met people while looking for leads, while out picking pockets, or while trying to escape the consequences of her actions.

I think there's a little bit of overlap between Rinika and Evie's skill sets, but I don't see that as a big problem. Rinika is naturally more of a filcher than a scout, and I'm certainly up for a bit of friendly cat vs rat rivalry. I'm up for a rebuild too if it becomes an issue though.

I haven't played any Planescape ever, so I'm good for modules, for banter, and for jumping into portals until we get in over our collective heads.

Figure since we are doing a smart thing clearing the air out front, I had intended to start Vasscht out as a straight up racist. Partially because of his race and his cold mercenary nature. If you ain't Githzerai and he isnt being paid to protect you, he doesnt much care (unless you are Githyanki or Illithid, then straight murder machine :) )

My plan is that as the group adventures together his worldview will slowly change as he appreciates the rest of the group.

I also was planning on keeping most of his derision in internal monologues as to not cause any friction with overt commentary.

If that will annoy anyone, please speak up and I will just make him more friendly from the start.

Arkrynn - Done
Evie - 75% done

Yomi - Done except for 1 trick

Gonna shoot for first gameplay post sometime Friday. It'll be fine if people aren't 100% set with characters since first bit will be more role than roll. Evie will be given the mission then she'll build the perfecr team or whoever is available.

We are a party uniquely suited to living in and cleaning out the gutters of the city, what with an urban druid, a goat, a fox, a cat, and a rat. And the most laid-back sellsword who's down for anything.

Though it's not pretty, crunch is done except for my feat. I'm going back and forth between Go Unnoticed, Tunnel Rat, and just boring but useful Stealthy.

Go Unnoticed seems cool, but I don't know that constantly removing herself as a target is really going to help the rest of the party in combat, as she's not going to follow up with a sneak attack or anything. I've very much focused on her ability to scurry freely through urban environments, which Tunnel Rat fits in well with. And Stealthy is dull but mechanically advantageous.

I'd say I'm leaning more towards Tunnel Rat. Any thoughts or alternate suggestions?

Wanted to give everyone a chance to chime in at the Poor Sod before Evie arrives, if they're so inclined.

Delmoth I'm toying with the idea of taking the Animist archetype with Evie. I like the concept and the 2nd level ability, but I'm not 100% sold on the replacement spells and delaying hexes until 4th level. Overall it would take her in a much more mystical direction as a character, and I'm basically waiting to see if any of the other PCs already have that vibe going on.

At some point we'll need a way to track loot and money the party has received. I'm not gonna do it cause I have other games I'm doing it for on both sides of the screen. I usually see an editable spreadsheet.

I'll nominate Jek because...

Jek wrote:
I love databases.

But if someone else volunteers I won't be sad. The only thing I'd request is a way to see individual character wealth. That way if someone is drastically lagging I can design a loot pile to help them catch up.

The other option is between adventures each PC repurchases gear up to their expected wealth by level. And then we don't care at all about tracking who has what except for plot important items.

And that's fine too. If everyone wants to take care of themselves. It's my understanding that items will frequently go unclaimed and thus be left at the table.

To be clear I'm not worried about anyone getting too much stuff. It's the stuff that's left behind I'm worried about. I seem to remember Theophilus not having two wands that he should have had.
