Lissanya deftly dodges the beam as she approaches, and finds that the eyes are easy enough to close. Just need to dodge the beams as you get close. As you close the eyes the mouth of the bas-relief closes and the fumes stop flowing.

Lissanya shivers a bit as the electrical arc crosses her skin, the minor burn already beginning to heal as the serpents approach.

Yay resistance and fast healing! Good thing it wasn't the fire or ice.

Seeing the incoming serpents, Gilgrim charges forward, leaping over the rugs in his way, but not really paying close attention at how well. At the end of his movement, he mentally prepares himself to enter a state of calm, ordered defense.

Sithiss chomps on the closest metal serpent, and finds it very difficult. Not all of its damage seems to affect the cobra.

Benevolence recognize these as Adamantine Cobras, a variation of Iron Cobras. The are constructs and they are venomous and they have DR 10/-. [Not hardness]

Ah, I hadn't seen anything in the description to indicate I'd gotten knocked back, so I wasn't sure (and it makes the difference between a full attack and not).

Narayan falls into a well practiced-stance, moving in low hops over the rug before barreling into a serpent with a great looping punch.

Lissanya's shot strikes true. And Narayan finishes off the red one with the first strike. The elbow smash can push kick damage the blue one, but it dodges the round house.

There is little joy to be found in destroying these foes. They cause no harm to innocents, there is no hope that they might be redeemed. All that remains is the test.

This starts with Blue, but if Blue's destroyed, Narayan will perform a flying kick across the carpet to where the transparent Narayan is(+19 to jump means even with a standing hop he passes on a 1), and continue attacking yellow with the flank.

Naarayan finishes off the cobra in front of him with is first strike. And continues to smash the next one.

Gilgrim smashes the one in front of him and then completes the work the Narayan started. All the cobras are destroyed.

With the serpents dispatched all that is left is the glowing green pillar of light. It appears to be some type of teleportation portal. Spending a few moments you find that it is not leading to certain death, tough further in to the dungeon. So you step though to ...

Room 3

The light fades away and you find yourself standing in a different room. The curved walls of this chamber are covered in a wavy pattern made up of tiny blue stones. Opposite you is a large, oblong pool of liquid from which emanates an acrid stench.

The only apparent way out of the chamber is through a large pool opposite the entrance. The pool sits inside a 1-foottall stone wall, but its liquid goes right up to the rim. There is a small gutter around the edge of the pool that catches any liquid that overflows the short wall. The pool itself is 10 feet deep, but standing at the edge of the pool you notice that on the far side of the calm pool, there appears to be a passageway at the bottom, leading down into darkness

You do determine that you can go back to the previous room as needed.

Stone has a hardness of 8, and generally objects take 1/2 damage from energy, so just trying to get an estimate of how gnarly the acid is.

I have Communal Resist Energy prepared. That will give all of us resistance 20. Also I can shapechage into a water elemental to scout or fight in the pool as necessary.

GM, if I was in the form of a water elemental, would I be able to shape/splash/push/throw the surface acid at an opponent?

Gilgrim's knowledge of stone work examines the pool. First the acid floats on top of the water. The level of the liquid is at the level of the top of the pool. and there is some type of drain that runs around the pool to catch any overflow and not have the acid or water spill into the room.

A water elemental could effectively "push" the the floating acid up and over the edge and in to the spill drain. Thus eliminating the hazard of the acid. But you would need actual Control Water if you wanted to pull the acid down and use it yourself.

Selter, not being trained in alchemy, but just from knowing some basics idea of stone. For the most part looks to be similar in strength of a typical flask of acid. However there is so much of it, diving though it would effectively expose you to multiple does of it at once.

Ssself doesss not sssee that protecting everyone from acid isss necesssary. If other usssersss of power can protect Ssself from acid, I will pusssh it out of pool into catch gutter. Then ssscout ahead to sssee what isss beyond.

Lissanya, if your resist energy is not a self only ability and you cast it on me, then I will change into a medium water elemental, jump into the pool, push the acid out of the pool, then check out the tunnel to see how far it goes (and if anything attacks me in the water). That would save the communal resist energy for a time when we all need protection from some energy type.

Sssoundsss like a plan. Sithiss, ssstay. As soon as Lissanya is finished, Selter calls forth his power and changes into roughly humanoid shaped form of swirling water and jumps into the pool. Assuming he isn't immediately incapacitated. He will push the acid out of the pool into the gutter around it. If the vortex form will do the same quicker, he will take that form.

Diving in as a water form, Selter takes 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 3) = 11 acid damage as he passes though none of it gets though the warding by Lissanya. Taking the form a whirlpool starts to push out all the acid. However doing so seems have attracted the attention of that which lurks below.

The acid is cleared, Selter is currently in Vortex Form. The creatures look hungry but know enough not to swim in to the swirling water.

Gilgrim groans audibly, "Ya have ta be kidding me! By the time we get outta here, my lungs will twice as strong from all the time spent holdin' me breath!"

As he's complaining, though, Gilgrim is climbing over the lip and dives into the water, making sure to avoid the vortex that is Selter and use his momentum to sink/swim forward.

If possible, he makes his way towards the nearest crab (probably red) and puts all his strength into cracking the thing's shell.

Adamantine Hammer attack: 1d20 + 15 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 15 - 5 = 13
Adamantine Hammer damage: 2d6 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 8 + 6 = 22 (apparently you can't do division in the diceroll... so just divide the results by 2.)

If he can't make it to the crab, then he'll stop just far enough away to make the thing come to him (10 feet away).
