I guess bot, but it's a shame that we're down to 3 with all of the characters we started with, you know?

Hi all - I'm having work issues at the same time (and maybe because of) suffering acute "who gives a s**!, the whole world hates you" depression.

I am struggling with most everything and with the exception of my core game will distance myself from my pbp games for a brief time.

If you guys are happy to bear with me about a week/two weeks or so (hoping new meds help my outlook - lord knows my current cocktail isn't helping) then I'll look at this game again.

If not, then I apologise for missing your expectations. I'll withdraw and wish you all the best.

It's fine, I'll bot you for the combat then. GL getting better :)
See you when you get back.

Hang in there. As you seem to recognize, the outlook is much better than it would seem when you're stuck in the middle of depression.

Take your time, man. I hope things get better soon!

For my own part the meds have me feeling marginally better but new work demands are crushing. I am not pulling the pin but you'll need to be patient to see how things pan out... again, if you want to drop me I understand. I have just one game in me atm and its a labour of love that I've been running for a year now that I just won't let die other than that I am struggling.

Sorry guys - I am going to drop from this game. Thanks for some good times.

That is a shame to see you go. Have a good one!

Sorry for not posting yesterday got home very late. So two people are gone in quick succession leaving just two which is unfortunate, there's 3 things that I can do;

- Do recruitment for people for just the last dungeon, fast forward you through here to get the info you need then do the last dungeon crawl with some new people basically.

- Finish the game with just two people, which I can do, at that point I won't bot I'll just readjust the encounters accordingly. Probably give you guys another feat to strengthen yourselves a little.

- Or we can call it there, though if we choose this option I won't leave you guys without an ending. I will reveal what the ending entailed and what there was to be found so people can at least get closure.

I don't mind any of the options, I'm more up for whatever you guys prefer at this point.

It's hard to recruit for just one dungeon crawl. I prefer to finish it out to see the ending, but I'm also fine with at least knowing how this ends, and understanding the storyline.

Yeah, I think it would be too hard to go on with two or to recruit.

It's a shame to end it now, but I do want to hear the conclusion of the story, so I vote for that.

So that's one vote for seeing the ending and one to finish it out. Erm well that's 50/50, though I guess Malthu did say he's fine with it ending now. So are you both okay if we stop it here then? Just last confirmation before I give away the rest of the plot.

Yep, time to hear the grand finale. Who is Ebrahim, and why is he such a jerk?

what he said - lets hear the end game

Right let's see, I'll try to explain bit by bit.

As you guys have probably noticed my plots are relatively simple, but I try to hide a lot of what is going on spoon feeding bits of information. Such as when you had the fight with the Dullahans back at Chamarel.

Let's start with what you would've found here, the gnome's atelier is a place where planar stuff was studied quite a bit. As the gnome living in the town was the village's only Summoner. The gnome was still alive and hinted at from the very beginning of the game, he defended Chara from an attack a while ago and granted her a magic mark. This is why she is able to summon the small blink dog. It was her Eidolon and she only just started coming into her own with her powers. The gnome wouldn't have revealed himself though if you talked to him he would've helped you get through the Atelier. At the top once you were past the ruin it would've been a large mess of a library where the group could've found a way to easily navigate and prepare themselves for Ebrahim's 'palace'.

So back to the hint things, Ebrahim had the ability to twist wishes to what he will as you had already guessed, this was because he was in fact a Djinn. He would find loopholes in people's wishes to grant himself something too. Ebrahim himself didn't start out as a Djinn which is why when you found out a bit about his backstory his friend referred to Ebrahim as a trader. Ebrahim had found a Genie and wished himself to have all the capabilities of a Genie, then he granted a wish for the genie, which was to be free. This is where he twisted that wish and destroyed the genie so there would be no one to know what he had become.

He experimented with granting people wishes until he could manipulate certain details. The biggest thing was if at any point the wish of the person became threatened then the remains of the person would turn into a mistfiend. This is why you saw a Mistfiend when releasing the serpent from the jungle, as the serpent was required to keep the jungle lush and green. The dwarf who made a wish came to defend it. The orbs were where the souls of these people rested. I was using these as a sort of plot device to be able to reveal the trials and tribulations of each of the people before they asked for a wish of Ebrahim. Ebrahim constantly tried to add bits to the mountain under Chamarel by granting the wishes more frequently to make a lair. This is how it was such a cavalcade of random things inside, each 'zone' was created from a different wish.

The Dullahan army was created from a similar wish, where Ebrahim's daughter wished to become immortal and serve her father. This is what created the first Dullahan in the army, his daughter wanted to make sure that all the soldiers were like her which is why they were all female. The majority of women leaving the town were due to the allure of the wishes, those who didn't have wishes worth twisting were kept under a geas by Ebrahim's daughter. When they died their heads would be cut off and they would turn into Dullahan. All men that died to this ritual were turned into the horses.

The final 'palace' was in fact going to be Ebrahim's lamp, which is why it was an extra dimensional space. It is also why it is connected to all the wishes as it was the vessel that granted them all. It was also the only place the Ebrahim could die. Other than being a mess of creatures inside Ebrahim also kept some people from the village in there. Once cornered he would've used them to attack you as they are just normal people, he would've convinced them that you were evil people come to take away their heaven. If pushed too far where their actual wishes were threatened they would've turned into mistfiends. I was expecting at this point at least one of the people would be threatened and you'd find out that's what triggers mistfiend creation.

Upon engaging Ebrahim his world would come crashing around him and you'd fight him upon a small platform that constantly changes in scenery. This was an extraplanar trick but it would've also been for me to continually shift the scenery to re-explore all the places you had been. To remind you how far you had come to beat this Djinn and the memories of camaraderie along the way. Upon defeating Ebrahim the group would've gained a glimpse to what their wishes could've been before returning to Chamarel as Fayances caverns disappear from reality. The money would be then up for the taking, but hopefully each of the adventurers found something different to fight for along the way.

A lot of the characters you met had people who had fallen to the Ebrahim in one way or other. The biggest one of course being Snow, her mentor had wished that his son would come to no harm and be protected in the mansion. This is true he came to no harm from the mobs and was protected in the mansion. However he was turned into the wax golem you fought, he was protected by the creatures in the mansion. However the golem itself could feel no pain and didn't understand the concept of harm. So no harm ever afflicted him. Another cruel twisting. One of the mistfiends you fought inside the mansion was Snow's mentor, Klaus. As having attacked the mansion you were coming into direct conflict with the wish.

Anyway that is the basic gist of the ending and what was going on, feel free to ask me anything about the plot at large and I will answer.

I hope everyone did enjoy the game despite real life getting in the way. You have been great players!

thanks for a great game

Thanks Davachido, that was awesome! I'll definitely keep an eye open for any other games you decide to run.

Grand Lodge

I enjoyed the E6 aspect. Proves it can work.

Thanks so much for a great game! I really like the story, and its clever how you weaved in a natural path toward an epic finale. It's a shame we didn't get to experience it live.

You might recall that I'm in another one of your games (Amelia in the Mythic 6 game), so I'll see you there!

I'll leave this thread open for a little while before hiding it, just in case I do get any questions but from the sounds of it there aren't any at the moment.

Rybal if you want I am running a slightly altered E6 game that Malthu brought up. It's at about 5 players at the moment and I don't mind adding you if you want. The game is even at a point where I could add you quite shortly if you like to join it. There's a summary of the plot thus far in the campaign tab info.

Here

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not going to have enough time to make a character and read up on the game thread right now (which I'd want to do if I join an existing game). If I get a chance to read up on the thread I'll let you know, otherwise I'll keep my eyes open for whenever you start your next game.

It's cool, was just putting it out there ^^
