DM Mooshybooshy, "the Foolish" |
![Pelastour](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/8-The-Legacy.jpg)
So yeah no need to worry about that, it was a matter of circumstances in my personal life and my general newbieness that got to me and made me feel mistreated, I see now that that was exactly how I should be feeling, but I should have been projecting on the wife and not Mooshy.
That's exactly what I was trying to say, I'm glad you understand.
You are unconscious but stable if you take nonlethal damage equal to your max HP. You are unconscious and have to roll a Death saving throw if you are reduced to 0 HP from lethal damage.

Think of non-lethal damage more as a separate set of "Fatigue" points. When you have at least as many Fatigue points as you do Health points, you fall unconscious. Otherwise, your health is still there until you take lethal damage.

Okay so currently I've only taken a total of 1 lethal damage, but with 1 more damage I'll have more built up non-lethal than current HP.
Then my only question would be how non-lethal damage heals.

Stun as a tag: When you attack with it, it does stun damage instead of normal damage.
Stun damage is non-lethal damage. A PC who takes stun damage is defying danger to do anything at all, the danger being “you’re stunned.” This lasts as long as makes sense in the fiction—you’re stunned until you can get a chance to clear your head or fix whatever stunned you. A GM character that takes stun damage doesn’t count it against their HP but will act accordingly, staggering around for a few seconds, fumbling blindly, etc.
I've seen this done three ways.
1) You die or fall unconscious depending on whether the last attack you took was lethal or non-lethal. In this case, stun attacks can soften a foe for lethal attackers and vice versa.
2) Separate HP pools for lethal and non-lethal attacks. Personally, I don't feel this flows well natively, and the extra bookkeeping is clunky.
3) A stun weapon usually only makes a character stunned, which means different things depending on the weapon and the target. If the damage roll would have killed them, it makes them unconscious instead.
In any case, the stun or non-lethal damage fades after an hour or so, but the fiction can make that longer or shorter.
Edit: Oh, and Defy Danger is your catch-all roll. Anyone can try to bend bars and lift gates, but only the fighter gets all that dependable mechanical backup the move gives. A better example might be backstab. The thief and ranger have the ability to do crazy status effects to unaware enemies, but anyone can slit an unconscious throat. There's also always the chance the DM won't trigger the roll for you (like if you try to parley with a rock) or will ask for an additional roll if they think there's more at stake. (Like they might have you roll STR to bend off the lock, and CON to not hurt yourself doing it) Basically, your moves give you stuff you can do without GM fiat looming over your head.

Potentially another way of dealing with it is this: lethal damage reduces your health points, if you have stun damage equal to your remaining health points you are unconscious. Having taken non-lethal damage does not negate the health points your body has, but having less health makes you less resistant to being knocked out. If you have 21 health and have taken 15 non-lethal damage, you can still withstand 21 lethal damage before dying, but can only withstand six more damage of any kind before being knocked out.
That is what makes the most sense to me, anyway.

That was what I was thinking/hoping it was as well. It just makes the most sense to me to have any lasting non-lethal damage make you more prone to passing out from damage.
Still I have no qualms with doing it differently, just hoping for clarity.

It's the way I've always known it work, so I'm happy with that. Don't know how you run it though - it'd be worth seeing that before making any statements of preference.
And because it may prove helpful - do I know any dialect of Thieves' Cant, or something like that? And could I to use adventuring gear to produce traps, or the necessary materials to assemble them? I'm not in the best position for traps, being such short notice, but it would help in future.

In the GrimWorld extension it does state something about Kobolds and traps, let me see and I'll add it in edit.
Kobold Trapper
When you construct a trap, roll. If you have...
...the appropriate materials, take +1
...help from others, take +1
...constructed it slowly and safely, take +1
On 10+ it works flawlessly. On 7-9 it works! Sort of...

DM, remember I ate my toe, so my tongue doesn't hurt as much.
(It's my phrase and it weirds ME out. =))
I took 7 total, the toe healz 5, so only 2 to the tongue. (That would've been weird if I rolled 6's on both damage rolls and died just from CATASTROPHIC damage to just my tongue. >.<
Also, *high-fives Sees-Death*. =)

I mean you could bleed out super quick.
Also question for something that might never come up but to what degree qould it be possible that I teach Greas how to move literally inside the shadow? Every body has some potential for channeling, as a Channeler I am simply much more skilled at it with natural talent and a dedicated teacher. Thieves do get some access to multiclass moves, but I reckon he'd only need the teleport in that case. Just for potential future reference?

It's a hack of Dungeon World that has some additional playbooks. Those playbooks have special death moves that happen when a PC dies.

I believe teaching me how to teleport would help alleviate your current predicament significantly. Whether that would be possible is down to Mooshy's ruling - I can't find any multiclass moves on my version of the sheets for the Thief, and there isn't anything in the core rules for what you're describing. Some GM's will rule it so that, for example, sufficient roleplay and time spent in game devoted to learning such a technique would allow someone to add new moves from other classes to their sheet, if it made sense. It would be relatively simple for me to instruct someone in poison brewing and application, for example. But even if Mooshy allowed such things to happen, you'd still have to make an effective justification of how I could learn to perform feats like yours. I would not be surprised if I was given a lesser version of your moves, if I could learn them at all.
I suppose the question here is, what kind of DM are you, Mooshy?

Perhaps, but it would be a little sad if it amounted to nothing more than a convenient explanation for a level 6+ move. Speaking of which, I really need to come up with some stories - everyone but Krish is higher level than me. I still have to figure out what I want first once that's done.
EDIT: Sees, you're amazing. If we can rig that up, I would be more than happy with it.

Class Warfare has the Shadowmancer compendium class.
Once you have travelled to the astral plane of shadows and darkness, and been infused with its essence, you may consider the shadowmancer specialty an available compendium class. The next time you level up, you may add this specialty to your character instead of choosing a move from your class.
they can choose to take this as their next move:
Walking Through Darkness
When you step into a dark patch of shadow, you can step out of another one less than a hundred yards away. The whole of you must step through, with all that you carry.

Erm...Oadir? How unhappy would you be if Greas ended up following through on what he's saying to you? As fun as it is to act like this (I'm a horrible person, I know), I feel liking things are working out so that the situation may arise, and I don't actually want to have to do it. It'd be pretty harsh if I ended up throwing you to the wolves, let alone killing you. That, and I couldn't threaten you anymore. But if I think Greas would, he'll do it. It's in both our interests to avoid that.
Perhaps it'd have been safer if you'd been quiet earlier. Now the kobold's plotting.
EDIT: I was not aware of that, Hegh. All the better that I bring this up now then. What do I do here?

Thanks for the statement, Mooshy. I'm hardly going to actively try and kill people. That would waste resources. Sometimes though, they aren't people. They're a conveniently placed magical warhead.
And also a way of getting alignment XP, if we're talking meta.

Regardless of whether it earns me a level, it was fun. I wonder what these tales will reveal about Greas.

I haven't settled on an alignment yet, but none of the alignments from the Channeler truly make me feel like they are part of Oadir's character.
⃞Good
Use your Conduit to help someone at cost to your body
⃞Chaotic
Use your Conduit to cause great disorder or chaos
⃞ Evil
Use your Conduit to inflict devastation upon the world
I would say if I truly have to choose between those I'd say Chaotic is closer than Evil, Good is a possibility as well.
Is there any possibility of alternatives?

![Tiefling](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/PZO9423-Tiefling_90.jpeg)
I feel like Oadir has a sense of wonder at all things the world has to offer, so I would go with a Neutral alignment aimed towards discovery.
How about:
⃞Neutral
Discover something fundamental to the world
That would basically make Oadir a new intellectual, trying to discover constants of gravity and such in a world where magic is a reality. I struggle to see the true purpose but it should either be the discovery of a rule or the exception to that rule.
It's either that or the Chaotic alignment from the class page.
I don't know, it seems so boring to have the alignment be "Chaotic - Use your class moves to do chaos." But maybe that's just me misunderstanding alignment.

So Mooshy, do Greas and I gain a level for our stories? You hadn't touched on tht yet?
Also I'm super excited for what's next. We've got a cage that I assume was outside Arman's tent because it was too big to be inside (also with hearing breathing from a reasonable distance) and our Shaman just found his greatest calling in years (great roleplay), Greas is going wild with protective love and Sees is deafening the crowd. Hegh has become the ultimate must-have, Thunk is thumping (right), and Kibra just went triple bullseye. Retzack has got this fat dwarf running at the fight like it's a moshpit and there's even more happening that I can't keep track of
Actually I almost forgot about the dark elf, I'd say Oadir would pick any dark skinned creature out of a crowd at this point. If you hadn't guessed, the Channeler Kreng got killed was my mentor and first crush Shewa. Expect Oadir to have a thing for black skin/scales/fur and people shorter than him. (so most people when you're over 6ft/2m tall)
Edit: 6ft 6 if he didn't have horns, which adds an extra 3/4 inches I'd say.

I got myself a level - I got that figured out in PM. Thought I'd clear that up for you. And uh...protective love. Right. Tooootally not guilt induced madness or anything.
Then again, it might not be after all. I have no idea what goes on in my head, and Greas is part of it, soooo...varies by interpretation, I guess?
I have Smoog's back in any case. It was a toss-up between Shoot First and Wealth and Taste, but I went with the latter since I felt I could guarantee getting someone's attention. The best bit is, if it's turning out bad, I can toss the item to someone else, and let them deal with it. I hope I can do that sort of thing at least! If it doesn't have any of the baiting potential I'd hoped for, it'll be kinda disappointing.
