Are we officially going to go and get the ship re-done so it looks different? If so, we should take the opportunity to really have some fun with it. Let's get a new flag for it, colored sails, everything we can afford. I'm not much of an artist (maybe some of you are), but I'll try to draw up anything we design. Thoughts?
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
I don't mind our being a flamboyantly uncertain crew of pirates. go for it!
maybe something related to the ship name.
We can't keep Scourge around guys, C'mon.
Either let the crew vote. Or we Jack and Scourge play 1-4 for keeps, as it were: he wins, let him go (without a hand though. He has got to be punished), or lose, we kill him in a pirate-y way.
But let's not let this drag out.
As far as getting the ship retrofitted, well I believe Fishguts knows a guy.
male Husband 2/ Master of Dungeons 3/ Souless Corporate Lackey 2
I agree. I am just trying to keep it in character for me. We seemed to have stalled out in moving the story forward.
A bit of a stall, but also a chance for us to read up on the new phase of things (plunder, ship combat, so on) and a chance for GM to spend some time on vacation :)
Umm, Rush. Kroop, aka Fishguts, is our friend and allie, and the long standing cook who trained Jack to cook
Yeah; I switched people on ya! Just let me know if you want to direct that ire at Scourge

GM Nayr wrote: Yeah; I switched people on ya! Just let me know if you want to direct that ire at Scourge Yes, I thought it was Scourge. He's the one I don't want near our food.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
okay, i know everyone is out for Scourge's blood. so i want a proper statement of possibility from GM Nayr: is it possible to make Scourge an ally by the same processes of NPC influence indicated in campaign info tab?
as for killing him: seems to me that charming him during our next encounter with Captain Harrigan might be worth while...
Yes, that is possible, but would be a pretty large time investment. I'd treat the mechanics differently since it's such a hateful situation right now - instead of daily checks, they'd probably be closer to weekly or even monthly
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
so what were they planning to do to us once there? sell us off as slaves?
Up for debate, but you suspect that you weren't meant to live that long
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
i suppose jack is wondering whether Scourge could be sold for money
Just kill him, Jack. If you want to be fair about it, go one on one with him. No one is going to pay money for him, unless you are planning to go full on slave trader.
He probably wouldn't be worth anything either, save for a basic laborer amount. The crew would no doubt want him dead, as he'd punished nearly all of them at one time or another

Rush: Kroop is the cook, Kipper just a sailor, who also happened to fight on the side of Plugg and Scourge, but surrendered.

Hi - how do I make skill checks? Is it a manual process, or is there an automated process?
Sorry, should've gone over that. You have to use formatting for the dice roller; here's what you would do, for example:
{dice=Stealth check}1d20+2{/dice}
Except....replace the { with [ and it looks like this:
Stealth check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Feel free to try a few here in this thread before posting in the game thread

Is the +# the bonus on the attribute? In this case I have a +3 to dex, and stealth uses dex..?
Testing rolling dice:
Stealth check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
That is correct; it looks as if your stealth on your character sheet is +10 - dex bonus, ranks you've gained, and class skills
Just to simplify and move along, you guys are all partying the evening and then on to Rickety's right?

Pirates gotta be pirates. But at least two will be on watch.

dang, i wrote a long post and paizo crapped out on it. lost. ):
Yeah, they were having some issues yesterday indeed
I hit preview alot this keeps it alive. Also I submit then edit a lot.

Welcome to the new paizo.com everyone. Surprised? I was.
Same here Sub, and I almost always copy and paste it into a word doc before I submit. If I don't, it invariably disappears and I lose it all.
Sure was Sphen! Missed the memo on this one...it took me a bit to find where I needed to go, but think I'm good now.
I think they are prepping the site for a gig integration of their new Starfinder system.

i'm actually thinking that the i was unlucky enough to post at the time of upgrade. the error was unusual: the error page was in their store, and said something about the transaction being invalid.
incidentally, my post detailed a longish conversation with Kroop about the state of food supplies on board the ship, and whether we might be able to get anything for trade at Rickety's. Obviously we were thinking along the same lines.
Lol; sorry that one got ditched Jack...guess we can reboot that conversation

i'm still fond of the idea of having named the Oncoming Storm, The Captain Harrigan instead.

Is this a situation where bartering some plunder makes sense?
Certainly, yes it could. Not to spoil it, but Rickety may have some "financing" options as well.
Lol, what a time for a nat 20
Yeah.. that worked nicely :)

That's why your the captain, captain.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Nice roll captain.
So, I'm looking at the modifications available, and many of which involve tradeoffs with cargo capacity or ship speed. A few seem like really smart moves to start (magically improved items seem too expensive)
Broad Rudder
Increased Cargo Capacity
Silk Sails
Smuggling Compartments
Ram
Rapid Deploy Sails
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
so, umm, how much gold do we have? and how much cargo in our hold to sell.
I'd prefer exchanging plunder for ship enhancements, and using gold to buy personal items, IMO
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
i guess the cargo bit is: how many points of plunder do we currently possess? I can't seem to find any reference to what we have in the hold.
Look at the top of this page. We have 4 plunder.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
ha!
so i think the base price of 1 pt plunder is 1000gp (we can buy it at any port for 1000gp, non-negotiable. so a pure trading thing would be to purchase it, and sell it for more by intimidation, conjoling, bribery, etc.)
