Hmm. Originally, I was thinking of getting the ship via the cooperation (thus, a 'Holt ship', so they get used : ) ). Felt like a good tie in as to why she is here (Down-payment of X and Y years of service and you may take your ship home!).

But that does of course not mean that Cat's brother did not ask you and all that. He could have done that of course, without success. Something similar to:

V 'hi! we heard you were some naval bigshot now! Care to sponsor a ship?'

Y 'Sorry, can't hand out ships to folks. Barely own my body these days ...'

V 'Ah. Well, worth a shot. My sis is looking for one. How's life anyhow *bla bla bla*')

Would give a connection, while Cat could still head for the 'Holt ship'. Hmm... Might have been Ynja that pointed them in the right direction however, given she is most likely in the loop of such things : )

Ye I was think of something like that, just putting out feelers to see how ships where being allotted etc. He may even have contacted after the accident, but she could by then not help with the ship
The idea she pointed him at the Holt class and mission works, he would have passed that along.

I hope I am playing her right, she just dos not want to be there, soon as they head out into space she will be a lot happyer.

Cathrine I think has a very good idea how she feels, as well as Aramis who has her big fat file.

But there your PCs so who they react is up to you.

I just wanted to shoe how uneasy she is with so many others around.

Its a big drawback so I wanted to play it.

Yep, just struggling with the system generator program so I don't have to take 2 hours to do system generation every time you jump into a new system. SQL makes it too hard to do random numbers in a function. So I've moved to C# and started over. Should have it coded tomorrow.

Names of personal ships are up to the owners (although the GM reserves the right to nix if they are something likely to have already been taken).

Also, I now have a program that will generate a solar system in 3 seconds flat. So even working up multiple systems will be easy going forward. I'll leave it up to players to keep the spreadsheet up to date. I'll keep the map itself up to date as best I can.

Scout ships prepend S to the type of vessel. So, your main ship is the SEV Stargazer, your supply ship is the SSV Pantera, and the fuel ship is the SFV Barston.

Naval ships prepend N to the names now, so the Martha McTavish is now the NEV Martha McTavish. Defense Fleets (System fleets) pretend D. So the battleship Bismark assigned to a system for defense fleet is DBS Bismark.

This only applies to Commonwealth ships (Ships assigned to the commonwealth navy/scouts/defense fleets). Ships still in the respective navies of the two star systems retain their original nomenclature.

The task forces will be heading out from MWP08.

Your task force, being Task Force Alpha, will have first pick.

Alpha was the first Task Force that was fully qualified on simulations, and thus won the right to choose first. Beta was next, and so on. Gamma was, obviously, the last to fully pass qualifications.

Jump capable small craft would indeed be EC. Non-Jump capable small craft would be PC (Parasite Craft).

Not knowing what I'm looking for, AWP36 has 6 warp points while the other three have 1 each. Do we want to map the three first before the one or the other way around.

How many private ships do we have aboard?

If we deploy private ships, how much faster would we survey the system?

Should I assume that we have more survey sensors than the initial probes? Meaning, surveying the system with our ships is part of the mission and not some joyride?

Do we have any probes aboard with better sensors?

I believe 'our ship' is carrying two private parasite crafts, mine and Ynja's (in lieu of the two usually attached crafts).

I don't think the other ships in the fleet carry any additional (for this purpose) useful crafts.

(Ynja's is a standard scout from the rulebook and all those ships have jump engines)

You have two private ships, and two landing shuttles.

The other ships in the fleet have pinaces (small ships that can land or transfer, but arent' really designed for deployment in hostile areas like the shuttles).

The main exploration ship, as stated before, has room for 4 parasite craft. You have two private ships with full sensor layouts, and two shuttles. The shuttles aren't equipped for survey, only shuttling people up and down or around in orbit. So 2 of the 4 parasite ships did surveys. The tanker and cargo ship aren't equipped for surveys either. They stayed put.

AWP 35 & 37 does only have the entrance warp-points (that we know of!) so it might be worth to do a customary sweep of those systems just to see that we don't miss anything valuable.

37 is interesting just for the fact that there is a tropical (temperate!) planet there, just with a sorta sucky atmosphere. If there is anything valuable in that system, that could still serve as a base.

AWP 36 has plenty of unexplored warp nodes, so it is probably the most interesting system to explore!

@mdt - I think you mentioned it earlier, but I didn't find it when I looked, but are these systems completely surveyed for warp nodes too? (or rather, are all the good candidate spots surveyed at least =)?)

The way those calculations work, the more information you have about a star and it's planets, the more accurate the estimations on warp points and their locations the calculations get.

With 10 years of remote surveys, the calculations have a good bit of data about the systems, and can identify with a high degree of accuracy the number of warp points.

Without detailed scans on the various planets, tehy can't calculate locations for them, but there's a 99.98% confidence level in the # of warp points. The locations are up in the air.

Note, those are 'open' warp points. Any of the 1 warp systems could have a closed warp point and there'd be no way to know it until something popped out of it.

Yes, you do. Upgraded models. They can handle 4 jumps before exhausting onboard fueling. Each week of manuevering in a system reduces the jumps by 1.
