"Is that a sort of polearm?"
Basically, so long as you can keep your mount medium-size (or maybe in the case of something snake-like has compression so that it can fit in most of the places a standard character could ordinarily go you should be okay. How about a beat-up cavalier/low templar (with the Undersized Mount feat) on a broken-down mule? He-HAW!

Can anyone expand on why it's so important to have a Medium mount? If a Large mount has Narrow frame, what issues are there besides half-speed?

EbonFist |

The Ghost Rider archetype from Occult Adventures seems like a useful way to bypass some of the problems in having a mount.

"I have spent much time with a halfling who wields a polearm... was... cathartic to see her impale a ghost."
While there are times that a mounted character will run into trouble, there are certainly times where you'll shine. Just make sure you have a backup strategy so you are at least helpful to the team. I had the pleasure of granting our order of the paw cavalier ghost touch on her lance.... and then watching her spirited charge crit an incorporeal undead. That was SOOOO satisfying...

Depending upon the sort of pdf you have you might be able to right click on the map in question copy it out of your pdf and just paste it into (I would recommend) Google Slides (a free app which you can download from google for desktop and phone). The last few links in my current subheader are Google Slide files, feel free to look but please don't touch as they are all currently live games (as well you know--I suppose you could move your tokens if you like).
Stay thirsty my friend.

They are much more maneuverable on most prepackaged game maps. Large animals often have difficulty in tight caves, and dungeon corridors, and will attract more attacks of opportunity charging around crowded battlefields because of their size. Also they may have difficulty charging at all because of obstructions that might partially block their path, obstructions that medium-sized mounts might be able to slip past.
An unpleasant, loudmouth, runty halfling with big smelly feet or, better yet, a daring, vivacious, heroic gnome on a wolf or similar can rush around most any battlefield, acting as a high-speed tank or deep striker, fitting practically anywhere a regular, human-sized character could. Some medium mounts can even climb passingly well.
You will give up a lot of strength advantage with small cavaliers and mounted paladins, but you do get to do the thing that mounted characters like to do best--CHARGE!--a lot more often.

Thank you for the detailed response! That highlights some of the things I'll have to keep in mind. I'm still planning on going Medium I think, even if there are some pitfalls to watch out for. Fits the character better to not be Small. I appreciate the help!

I assume this question is actually: how do I get images from the PDF into my google slide show. There is currently no way to insert pictures into a paizo message board post.
My fallback method if everything else fails (on a windows machine): take a screenshot of the page with the map (using CTRL-SHIFT-PRTSCR) and then crop the picture using paint.net or paint (paint.net is open source software that has a lot more features than paint)

I sent you a PM about that, IDIYC. ;)
Edit: Posting that here for my fellow GMs as well.
You upload the PDF, press start and it will extract all images, to be downloaded either separately or as a zip.
-Without- the watermarks like numbers, lineouts of traps and text.
Purely the maps themselves.

I don't know how to make Google Slides accessible to my players. I don't know what's wrong with me. I must have done it before.

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Also, make sure your players have downloaded the Google Slides app to their devices, otherwise they might be able to view the maps and handouts but not be able to interact with them.

Hey, who are you calling "unpleasant"????
I have to agree with everyone else, small cavaliers on medium mounts are more likely to get full use of their mount. However, play what is fun for you! Just be prepared to deal with the logistical issues when they come up.

Can someone point me to the ruling for a single character being in a single game at a time? I've got a player asking about it and I've spent a couple hours searching for it but either my Google fu is weak or I'm misreading something, cause I am not finding it.

Wei Ji the Learner |

Although you can have more than one active character in
the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild, you can play only
one of your characters during a specific adventure session.
A character is effectively considered 'in a PbP session' until it is complete, much as if one is seated at a table at a convention, local game shop, on-line virtual session, etc.
There have been some other rulings that go into a bit more detail, but that's the pertinent one, as far as I can tell.
It's rather bare-bones and kind of mixed in with 'no double-dipping', but it has an elegant simplicity about it that feels 'right'.

Wei Ji's post is the rule that says you can't play multiple PCs at the same "table". This is the rule you are looking for.
Roleplaying Guild characters can only played in one scenario, module, or Adventure Path at a time. Characters are considered to be playing in a scenario, module or Adventure Path until they receive a Chronicle sheet for sanctioned content.

Woops, as I thought I was completely overlooking that rule! Thanks!

If the DM has yet to get the game started or check in after the official start date for a Gameday VI session 2 adventure, how long should I wait before worrying/trying to find a substitute DM/looking for another game?
I PMed them today but I think other players have reached out previously.

Typically, in Flaxxseed a week of unannounced MIA counts as an abandoned game.

Official PFS PBP Lodge Policy: Seven days with no GM posts is considered abandonment.
Note: this does not include games that have put on hiatus with an official return date announced. In those cases, we wait until after the return date has passed before counting the seven days.

Magabeus |

Hmm’s declaration means that we should not look for a replacement GM if our GM has been missing for less than a week.
As for EbonFist’s game (and to keep matters simple): the one week holding period starts at the projected start date.

Howdy, I'm new to these parts. I recently moved away from an area rife with PFS, got a full time job, then decided why not go full time to school for accounting. I recently took time off to go to a local convention and hot dang did it spark my need for PFS back up.
So now I'm here. Hi. Never done PbP before, but I've been writing for a good while and I read the guides so I reckon all I have from here on is to wait for something to open up and throw myself at it head-on.

![]() |

Welcome! We are in the middle of a PBP Gameday (think if it as sort of a PbP mini-convention) so recruitment for new games is slow right now.
There are still two slots open for 8-04: Wardens of Sulphur Gulch if you have a PC of level 7-11 or are willing to play a pregen. It's looking like it will go off at subtier 10-11 based on current sign-ups, but players may be flexible.

GM Ladile |

Welcome Knight of Rust! What Michael says is true, we're currently in the middle of a PbP convention so you may not see much in the way of recruitment for new games until it finishes up around November 17th. BUT, I'd still recommend keeping an eye out here as this is where most of the GMs will advertise/recruit for new games :)

![]() |

Thanks for the welcome! And dang, I guess I decided to show up at the wrong time, then
Michael, I appreciate the offer but I've already played 8-04 before. while it was a good deal of fun, not sure if I'm willing to use up a GM star on it.
That's fine, though. I'll wait around and see. I'm patient, even if that means waiting for the 17th. Thanks, Ladile.

GM Hmm |

What is the official action expected to be taken.
What does this declaration actually mean?
It allows us to act quickly to get games reassigned when GMs disappear. Usually by the time they’re reported to us, we’re about a week and a half in... Having the definition in place means that we can get started right away.
But other than finding replacement GMs, there’s no official action. We pass no judgment on a GM going through real life issues, because they happen to us all. That said, if you’re a GM under stress and still have internet access... I’d love it if you can take the step to ask for help. Much better for all of us if you give your games away proactively rather than leaving us guessing.
Hope this makes sense!

Knight, we had a whole bunch of games advertise spots yesterday. Keep a watch on this thread. There’s sure to be another game starting soon.
Welcome to our crazy and wonderful Lodge!

It is only available to the associated race. First Mother's Fangs must be Nagaji in the case.

Some quick things I noticed in here:
All the scenarios of Season 4
Some awesome modules
Rules source material for the Fauchard
Rules source material for Skinwalkers
Three new mods and the Season 4 scenarios. Still for me a bargain. Soon I will have all the scenarios!
