I'd be up for that... but I need Outpost II to be further along... and the four other games I am GMing to finish up. Of course, if you two wanted to play the same characters, we could do it after this game.

Why did I do this to myself ;)

Gluton.

That Waking Rune table was insane. The GM brought the pain, put us on the brink of tpk... One of my favorite games played to this day.

163 tables of action over 3 days!

23 simultaneous tables of the stunning Solstice Scar D conclusion!

32 inches of snow already plowed away! With no more snow on the horizon for Friday!

68 hours to go until the magic begins! See everyone there!

We didnt get them reported on site - which tends to extend the time to completion. They are over half reported. Almost done

Dark Archive **** Venture-Lieutenant, Minnesota—Twin Cities Metro South

Too much to do.... too little time.... 97 hours aaahhh

I don't track player kills, tpk's or perma-deaths. if i had to guess... 7 or 8 tpk's and 6 perma-death?

My most memorable TPKs came in back to back years at JimCon in Canada...

Running Siege of the Diamond City at 12-13... power word stun is no joke.

The next year running a 4 player team through Tomb of the Iron Medusa... phew that can be a tough module.

But in both cases... a PC killed the rest for me. So I can't take all the credit. Both times the players grinned at their hidden note instructions.

now that i think about it... having a player voluntarily retire for roleplay reasons was glorious.

Dark Archive

i hear from a little Silbeg birdie you might need a 6th? my level 2 isn't in tier but his Kobold alter-ego is ;)

i'm a friend of Silbeg and I ran part A for Urktar

Start your stable. Multiple characters is always a good idea

With the constant web interruptions we need to be very patient. The site is down repeatedly during my best post time

Dark Archive

Mounted combat is its own special case.

2 companions on the field of battle - they should act one after the other... (whether same init or separate is up to gm - i roll separate) just like bad guys have to go one at a time... Readied actions are very important for being effective in that situation.

The modules are a good selection. Worth considering for them.

What does this declaration actually mean?

I've always ruled in specials that there are plenty of fellow agents to find spell casting services for clean up. Just pay the fellow pathfinder cleric of serenrae.

The GenConVoy is always a fun ride from minneapolis to indianapolis. We tried toconference call two vehicles this year but it didn't work.

Though it was the greatest game on the drive home...

Gm never drives. Thats just silly

Running this last night, Jack Brown and I thought this was a pretty good scenario.

I would warn GMs - it does seem to expect a bit more improv with the interactions than normal - and there's some really important information not in the red text... such as the first paragraph of the conclusion...

Conclusion:

The red test starts with: Amenopheus catches his breath before walking over to wrap the thrown jewel in a thick cloth. “Unfortunately, this confirms my earlier theory......

but right before that... in black: When Amenopheus attempts to communicate with his ancient colleague’s memories within the sage jewel, it flares angrily, and he casts it across the room instinctively.

Like i said - a solid experience overall from my point of view. The Tier 4-5 DCs not being in every check location was different. I am not one to normally take a highlighter to my scenarios before running but this one i would next time.

For the next calculation... i would probably discount major holidays and sundays in the minute to day ratio.

For a socoal encounter - that just was not enough time for casual 1/day pbp.

The boon says it can only be used once per season. It doesn't say you must use one labeled for the current season.
While it doesn't explicitly say that, sticking a big SEASON 8 label on it just rather strongly suggest it is only valid for that season and that once it is filled out you cannot fill out another of the same one.

I do agree with this statement. The old expanded narrative prize boons weren't season specific, just within a season. The season 8 boon clearly says season 8.... no one i know of has announced Expanded Narrative is always going to be available for free going forward...

I guess this is as good a time as any to point out the differences between Hilary and myself. Where she is compassionate and giving, I'm stern and selfish.

There will be no distribution; your beers are belong to me.

Be warned. Them there be fightin words. We don't take kindly to beer thieves here in minnesota.

Does that have something to do with the amount of alcohol that we intend to foist upon Thursty?

Thursty is always thirsty. there be no "foisting" here.

I'm rather curious to see what mix of PFS and SFS they post. It certainly seems like people are going to be pretty interested in playing (I know I am), but it won't take long to run out of scenarios in SFS. Look on the bright side Hilary between Gencon and Skalcon you might be a 1 star SFS GM before October.

As we are premiering the local debut of Starfinder at SkalCon, we will have a full lineup of both Starfinder and Pathfinder available in parallel. How much of each depends on demand and of course the super-secret-not-at-liberty-to-disclose details.

I wouldn't mind playing a PFS run of Emerald Spire in CORE. No way it will happen locally so online is my only hope. I am aware that even with an active GM it will take many months.

I'm thinking of GMing my first PbP game as part of the second session of Gameday VI. I'm a little nervous about my roleplay abilities for a large number of NPCs, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a fun little scenario that is little more combat based? Something along the lines of 'Hall of the Flesheaters' maybe.

My first recommendation to prospective GMs comfortable with combat is always master of the fallen fortress.

Any evergreen is always a good place to start - especially after you've played them.

Dark Archive

I can help finish it out.

Dark Archive

once a boon is applied to a character number it cannot be moved.

Dark Archive

Read the race boon.

If it says "You must apply this to a character with 0 XP"... the requirement is obvious.

If it does not have that or similar language - i know of nothing in the guide to prevent a 3 xp rebuild to use a race boon then.

don't over-think it.
